Excellent experience!! We joined a little while back and are happy we did. Both of our boys are loving it and doing very well. It's a confidence booster for them for sure! David and Katie (owners) are really great with kids and keep it interesting. David and Katie have an amazing character and teach really great things to children!!! Highly recommend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, especially the one in Goodlettsville, TN.
Posted 1 year agoI dropped in while traveling for work. David and everyone else were incredibly welcoming! I would recommend Gracie Goodlettsville for those who live in the area or want to drop in while visiting Nashville!
David Jackson is a great instructor. Gracie Jiu Jitsu Goodlettsville is a wonderful place for kids to learn how to protect themselves, build confidence and be healthy. It is also a great school as an adult to learn Jiu Jitsu.
I was visiting family in the Nashville area and stopped in for a couple classes. David was awesome! It was very clear that David not only has the technical knowledge but also the understanding of how to teach jiu jitsu to people of all ages, skills and abilities. I was able to observe a Bullyproof class before our class started and David brings such a great energy and creates a fun environment for the kids as well. Thanks so much!
The women’s empowerment class is AMAZING, and very empowering. I think all females should take this class to gain self-defense experience considering how dangerous the world is. My daughter is truly enjoying her classes! I love that they make it fun, but also informative for the littles!
The gym is very clean. The people are incredibly friendly. David creates an great environment for learning. The low stress environment and the empowered feeling I leave each class with keeps me coming back! Great vibes! 10/10 recommend 👍👍👍
Wonderful class. Instructors were very professional, detail and safe oriented. Strongly recommend to all.
My 7-yr-old started with Mr. David and she loved it. She has talked about Jiu-Jitsu to all of her family and friends and she can't wait to go back! As a parent, I loved that she felt safe and really seemed to enjoy it from the smile ear to ear. David also incorporates learning about important responsibilities as a child and uses a chart to measure their success that my 7 year old easily understands. She can't wait to return again!
First time visiting another Gracie CTC, away from my home Gracie CTC. David was a great instructor & training mate. Highly recommended checking this place out. Look forward to joining future classes, when my travels bring me to Nashville again. Currently, White belt w/3 months training.
I’ve trained at several gyms over my 5+ years of training BJJ and this is one of the nicest and cleanest facilities I’ve been to. The head instructor/owner, David, is awesome. He is very good at explaining in detail, making it easy to learn complicated movements and submissions.
I popped in from out of town. David did a great job teaching the class. The environment is very welcoming and everyone was easy to work with. The curriculum well structured and consistent. A great place to begin your Jiu-Jitsu journey.
David's attention to detail and passion for Gracie Jiu Jitsu make him an excellent instructor. He is also very easy to talk with.
David is such a great person and great Jiu Jitsu Instructor, he takes the time to explain in detail the Gracie curriculum and makes sure you had understood the principle of the technique
Awesome Intructor, hits all the points of the move, always a good time when David is teaching. 10/10
Safety and structure are unparalleled here! Check out the 10 day free trial, and you won't be disappointed.
David is great instructor and a great person. He is truly dedicated to helping people learn and develop new skills. I’ve had the privilege of training jiu jitsu with him since 2021 and I would definitely recommend anyone to go check out his training center.
David is one of the most engaging instructors I have ever had the pleasure to train with. His attention to detail, his positive attitude, and his desire to make sure everyone who's on the mat leaves with a smile is what makes him such a top-notch instructor of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. His ability to keep young students engaged and interested in classes is also a real treat to observe. You can't go wrong training with David.
David is a great person and awesome instructor. Check out GJJ Goodlettsville!
I started my Jiu Jitsu journey 11 months and David was the first person I worked with on the mat. His attention to detail and encouragement with learning the techniques made it easy to understand! Structure and safety is his the top priority and it's like being brought into a family. Would highly recommend giving the 10 day free trial a shot.
David is an incredible instructor. Always gives constructive feedback in a way that makes you want to keep training. He creates a safe environment where you can go to learn without worrying about getting injured or feeling like you don’t belong. Whether he is teaching adults or kids, he is engaged, smiling, helpful, welcoming, and all around someone you will be glad is instructing.
David is a wonderful instructor with a passion for helping his students excel! The 10 day trial offer is worth the effort to experience it yourself.
My daughter has a black belt in Jiu Jitsu (from a more reputable school). Just stating that so that viewers are aware that we do have knowledge in this field. My review is more on the character of the owner/instructor and his wife (David and Katie). My daughter (the black belt mentioned above) had David as a youth pastor in Virginia. My daughter was 12 at the time and came out being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. David found out and he and his wife relentlessly bullied her and other teens in the LGBTQ+ community to a point where we had to give the church a cease and desist letter. The church sided with their "youth pastor" and their counsel advised they could no longer speak to us. We left that church... the bullying she endured were things like being called gross, an abomination, singled out for hanging out too closely with girls (while the straight kids could hang all over each other as teen girls do), and he even gave me a book on how to pray the gay out of her. He would stalk these teen girls social media pages then lecture parents on the content. His wife was no better and would call her out in class for being gay and made her uncomfortable. It has taken years to erase the trauma these people caused. So, now I advocate for LGBTQ+ teens and although my daughter has never been coached by him in Jiu Jitsu, we wanted to make people aware of the character. If you are choosing him as a coach, based on our experience, I would look elsewhere.. I didn't think a blue belt was allowed opening up a school since that's such a low belt, but I could be wrong... it is ironic to me that they have an anti-bully class when these two were huge bullies. He bullied teens so much that the youth program before he was hired was around 75... 6 months after he started, they averaged 20...there were more parent complaints, but the church wouldn't listen so he's unaware of those. He's unprofessional, stated himself he hates exercise, does everything possible to cut corners... Just stating our experience...
