We’ve been part of Tanuki Martial Arts for over four years, and we couldn't ask for better leaders than Marianna and Seji. What started as a great jiu jitsu program for my son and daughter turned into a family affair once I saw how special the environment was and decided to join myself. Beyond excellent instruction, they foster confidence, strong character, and a true sense of community. A genuine gem for both kids and adults!
Posted 1 month agoTanuki has become our second family. It started with my son joining BJJ, then I joined, followed by my daughter and finally my partner. Now we’re a whole family of four BJJ practitioners! The community is great, and the coaches are amazing, welcoming and inclusive. As a woman, it’s also amazing to see and train with so many other women my size. It makes the gym feel even more comfortable and welcoming. The kids’ programs are fun, and there’s a great variety of class times and coaches. The adult program offers both gi and no-gi, and the Saturday open mats always bring in so many people from the BJJ community. We’re so happy we found Tanuki. It’s more than just a dojo for us—it really feels like family.
Posted 2 months agoI've been with Tanuki Martial Arts for several years; it's such a fun place to train, and I've grown a lot during my time here! They have a variety of classes that complement each other, including jiu jitsu, wrestling, boxing and MMA. The teaching method across all instructors and disciplines balances reviewing fundamental technique with integrating dynamic activities to ensure technique translates into sparring. There's a great diversity of approaches across instructors, which keeps things interesting as you get to learn from different styles. Whether you're new to martial arts, more experienced and considering competing for the first time, or an avid competitor, Tanuki proactively supports people at all stages of their learning. Last but not least, they've created a safe, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, all while gathering a room of great training partners that will help you continue working towards your goals - whether that's developing a consistent movement routine or levelling up in your martial arts. Would highly recommend checking this place out!
Posted 2 months agoThe gym and the people are amazing. When I attended an open mat session for a roll, everyone was welcoming and friendly. The BJJ coach I met took the time to introduce himself, explain the gym's culture, and share his passion for the sport. It was a great experience, and I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in.
Posted 4 months agoHad my first class today at Tanuki, 6PM boxing with Sean. It was a great fun atmosphere but also straight to the point no BS training. There was a good mix of beginners and more advanced people in the class. The upstairs and downstairs spaces are also clean and well lit. I’d highly recommend giving this gym a try.
