"My son began training at RMA pre-COVID, but we moved out of the neighborhood when the pandemic hit. Four years later, he decided he wanted to continue his martial arts journey. We tried a few dojos in our new neighborhood, simply because RMA was a 30-minute drive from our new place. However, my son and I weren’t happy with the selection and decided it was to his benefit to return to RMA. I’m so happy we made that decision. The dojo has blossomed and managed to survive the economic catastrophes many small businesses faced during that time; only the strong survived. Now, even 'Dad' has decided to take the plunge and join the wonderful family of martial artists at RMA! We are never too old to learn new things. I highly recommend Riverdale Martial Arts for children, young adults, and older people like me (57). OSU!"

Posted 8 months agoStarted working with Bobby the last few weeks and I noticed a huge improvement to my jujitsu. I work as a first responder and there was an incident where the subject tried to jump off the balcony in an attempt to end their life, I used a lot of what Bobby taught me and the subject was successful stopped. Bobby is very personable and provides great feed back to individual students, he provides great information along with applications to real life situations.
Posted 2 years agoI've been training at RMA for just over a year and couldn't recommend it enough. Bobby, Tyler, Liz, Joe, and Ben are all fabulous instructors. I was intimidated to start BJJ as a 39yr old woman with zero martial art experience. RMA's encouraging & supportive community put me at ease immediately. Truly hooked.
Posted 2 years agoOur son trained here for several months and did learn useful BJJ fundamentals and resilience, which we appreciate. However, over the past year the children’s program became noticeably more rigid. The teaching style relies heavily on strict, zero-tolerance discipline and frequent yelling, which may not suit children who need patience, flexibility, or different learning approaches. This academy may work for families seeking a very strict, military-style environment. Parents of children who benefit from encouragement and understanding may want to observe classes carefully before enrolling.
