Amazing experience training at Leslieville. As a traveller the coaches and the members were incredibly friendly. Getting in contact with the gym was easy and they were super responsive. The level of training was excellent and intense in the best way. even as a non-competitor i learnt a lot from that single session and was pushed in a productive way by everyone. The gym also has excellent facilities including a showers. Would definitely recommend Leslieville JiuJitsu to all.
Great place to train. Classes aren't too crowded and coaches pay full attention to everyone.
Very welcoming I did their September free trial and attended the women’s class, I was nervous starting but couch Carla and all the girls attended were so welcoming! If you ever want to start, I recommend it! As someone who has no background in martial arts :)
awesome gym. great pace. great guys. thanks for having me train out here Ty.
It’s hard to find a strong feeling of community in such a big city, no problems with that at Leslieville BJJ. A super welcoming team making it easy for brand new white belts to try their first class, but also for experienced people coming from out of town to the big city.
I've been training here for over a year and just renewed my membership for another year, which says a lot about how much I enjoy being part of this gym. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve. The community is welcoming and encouraging, and the women's team has been an especially positive part of my experience. Whether you're brand new to BJJ or have years of experience, this is a great place to train and grow
Everyone there is so friendly, makes you feel welcomed as a newbie. All classes and all instructors are great! I especially enjoy the women's class. Carla is so attentive and patient, and she practices with me at my level, encourage me all the time. Definitely recommend this place.
I’m from Colombia, and I stayed in Toronto for about two months. During my time in the city, I wanted to find a place to train where I could learn and feel comfortable, since I didn’t know anyone. The experience exceeded my expectations. I definitely couldn’t have found a more welcoming and professional place. I feel that my Jiu-Jitsu improved, I learned incredible techniques, and the classes were so much fun. Not to mention how kind everyone at the academy was. Highly recommended!
Came by to celebrate and support their women’s class one year anniversary and it was so much fun. Really heart warming to see how much the students appreciate the coaches, and that they truly fosted a very supportive community. The mat space is large and kept clean, there’s a bathroom and shower facilities, the space is easily accessible and the team was very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely revisit this gym!
I can’t say enough great things about Leslieville BJJ! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the positive energy and strong sense of community that sets this academy apart. Coach Ty, MP, and Evan are great instructors. Knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in every student’s progress. They break techniques down clearly, make classes engaging and challenging, and create an environment where everyone feels comfortable learning and improving. A special shoutout to Coach Carla and the women’s program. I’ve recommended a few of my friends to the program and they have been loving it. She’s built an empowering, inclusive space where women can train confidently, develop strong fundamentals, and be part of a supportive community. It’s clear how much care goes into making the program both welcoming and high level. The kids program is also top-notch led by Coach Ty and Avery. They do an amazing job teaching discipline, confidence, and respect while keeping classes fun and engaging. It’s evident that they are dedicated to supporting children’s development both on and off the mats. Overall, the classes are well-structured and technical, the facilities are kept SPOTLESS and the culture is truly ego-free. Training partners are respectful, encouraging, and focused on helping each other get better. If you’re thinking about starting and/or progressing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu then I highly recommend Leslieville BJJ. It’s an amazing place to learn, grow, and be part of an outstanding community.
