Been training here for months, great place and community. I'm a total beginner and people are willing to give advice and do drills to help me train. There are other beginners and many experts but everyone is welcoming.
One of the best experience I ever had classes are fun the coaches are absolute beasts really fun experience couldn't continue for University classes but we'll soon join again. Its a really good gym for the price range it's underated
We were due to spend a couple of weeks in the local area while on a visit from Ireland when l contacted Connor to enquire about the possibility of our two sons, 12 and 14 years old, joining a couple of the teen sessions. Neither had trained in MMA previously but one had a interest in boxing and the other in Karate. Connor invited us to drop by, introduced us to his team, and from day one the kids loved the experience….so much so we had to organise our trip around training sessions! A great testimont to the trainers and to the other participants in the group. A big thank you to Connor and his team for their hospitality, the kids thoroughly enjoyed their introduction to MMA. In addition to learning new skills they received a warm welcome. All in all it was a great experience. Thank you to all involved.
Wow! I have tried many MMA/Kickboxing gyms in Toronto and I have to say that my experience here has been excellent.
The pricing and quality of instruction combined offer the best value I have seen in Toronto.
All the instructirs are friendly, kind and give you amazing detailed instructions and actually pay attention to detail and show you what youre doing wrong and how to do it right.
Finally if youre looking for private training for self defense, losing weight and getting fit I highly recommend Connor and Yayhe for personal training they're both great!
I’ve been training martial arts on and off for over the past 15 years and Yazzy and Connor are the best coaches I’ve ever had. Not only are their classes super fun and accessible for all levels, they’re genuinely good people and really care about their students and the community. Walking into a new gym can be intimidating, but they do their best to make sure every new student feels welcome and has a good experience. Love them, love the gym, and can’t recommend it enough!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best MMA Gym in Toronto, Easily
After fifteen years of training at different boxing, kickboxing, BJJ, and MMA gyms across Ontario, I can confidently say that One To One MMA is the most complete and highest quality gym I have ever trained at. Head Coach Connor Rideout is a four-time MMA champion with a seven-fight win streak, and instead of chasing fame he has devoted his life to teaching. His attention to detail, technical knowledge, and genuine care for both beginners and experienced fighters is unmatched. Seeing his championship belts displayed at the gym is genuinely motivating. In all my years of training, he is the best MMA instructor I have ever seen, period. His wife, Coach Yas, who earned a debut win by TKO, brings the same level of professionalism and clarity. She teaches men, women, teens, and kids with equal skill and warmth, creating an environment where everyone feels safe, confident, and supported the moment she starts coaching.
The rest of the coaching team is just as impressive. Calvin teaches real boxing with a hilarious personality and the best music in the city. Zelvis, a world-class four-degree black belt with experience coaching at Chute Boxe and Team Alpha Male, teaches the No-Gi BJJ program, and his calm, high-level approach is a huge advantage for anyone learning grappling. There is also a full wrestling program taught by one of my Turkish countrymen, and do not worry, it is not the oily festival wrestling from back home. It is real, modern wrestling for MMA, and it completes the curriculum perfectly. The facility is spacious, modern, very clean, and filled with positive energy. The community is the most welcoming I have experienced. People here support beginners, train without ego, and push each other to improve. The gym attracts talented fighters, motivated hobbyists, and new students of all levels, and the atmosphere naturally makes you want to give your best. The location is also perfect, only a four-minute walk from Greenwood Station, although I usually sprint it in one minute whenever I am trying to make it to class on time.
What truly separates this gym is the sense of family. The owners regularly organize events that bring everyone together, and their Karaoke Halloween Party was one of the most fun community events I have ever been part of. Moments like that make it clear that this is more than a gym. It is a place where you grow, make friends, and genuinely enjoy being around the people you train with. If you want real technique, safe sparring, confidence, and a community you actually look forward to seeing, this is the gym you have been searching for. This truly is the best MMA gym in the city. For anyone curious, the videos below show a small moment from the Halloween Party and a light end-of-class sparring round, just to share a bit of the gym’s atmosphere.
My 7 yr old son just started and already loves the class! It takes a lot to win my son over and just after the trial class, he was already excited to go back. Having to cancel other extra curriculars, I assume my son was drawn in by the calm, cool vibe Connor has displayed. His support & reassurance with my own concern has allowed me to feel heard & secure. I briefly met his wife and I can understand why everyone raves about their welcoming vibe, it truly is an ENERGY you feel when around them and is definitely a POSITIVE one*
