Visited for a BJJ seminar. Very clean and professional space. The coaches are exceptionally knowledgeable and obviously care about the sport and their students growth. Highly recommend!
I’ve been to several Martial Arts Schools over the past several years, and I have to say Tai Kai is, hands down, the best one I’ve attended. Tai Kai has top notch instructors that create a positive, fun, competitive environment. If you’re brand new to these types of activities, or if you have experience in these activities, Tai Kai is the place for you. There is something for everyone there.
Ken and Dennis were super accommodating letting me train here when I was in town for a couple weeks. If I could stay in town longer I would definitely get a full membership and train here
I have been extremely impressed with my experience at Tai Kai so far for a variety of reasons. I work a fairly sedentary job, and was looking for options for exercise and general fitness outside of classic weight training that fit with my schedule. I initially chose to attend an introductory class at Tai Kai because I was seeing promising things from their website and reviews, and I have not been disappointed. From the moment that I entered my information and expressed my interest, Ken was engaged and active in getting me signed up for an introductory class for Muai Thai, which was the martial art I figured would probably fit me best starting out, given that I've done boxing before when I was much younger. We discussed options that fit my schedule, and found several. I had a great experience during my first class, with both the instructor and the other students, both those highly experienced and less so, showing me the fundamentals with patience, encouragement, and kindness. I left that class feeling very motivated to continue, and Ken then reached out to check in on my experience and schedule a meeting to discuss options for membership, and times that classes would be potentially held. I have to particularly commend the transparency and honesty that was demonstrated throughout this whole process on the end of Tai Kai, as I consistently got the sense that Ken was actively working with me to find what would work best on my end, and was also impressed with the variety of classes and flexibility in times offered. He encouraged me to try an introductory Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class as well, and despite never grappling before, I also had an excellent experience during that class too. Overall, I'm less than a month in at the moment, am currently cross training Muai Thai and BJJ and am thoroughly enjoying myself. I have genuinely noticed feeling better both mentally and physically since joining, and there's a great balance at Tai Kai of encouraging you to push yourself, while also meeting people where they are at in terms of how far they want to go and how seriously they want to take things in regards to their individual training and personal fitness levels. I would highly recommend it both from the perspective of the energy of the people there, the coaches, the atmosphere, the flexible membership plan options, and the experience I have had so far as a whole.
Tai Kai is a wonderful gym - very supportive atmosphere and folks of all levels of experience will help you without hesitation. They offer a variety of classes so you can try different things out and find what’s right for you - BJJ, Muay Thai, kickboxing, etc. The instructors are knowledgeable and welcoming too! I’m glad that I joined Tai Kai with my husband and we found a hobby to do together
Great place to train and learn. Professional and highly skilled instructors with a welcoming atmosphere that promotes learning regardless of level of experience.
Great school with a very laid-back and welcoming environment. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and beginner-friendly, and are great at helping you learn. Would recommend.
I have always found Tai Kai to be a warm and encouraging place to learn Jujitsu. The classes have been very well organized and Ken and others take the time to break down the techniques for someone like me who has no prior martial arts experience.
What a great place to learn an amazing sport, there is so much to learn from in every class, instructors are very easy going yet will push you. I can’t wait to come here for a lunch hour class
I have been to a large varity of schools; Tai Kai Brazilian Jiu Jitsu stands out for its exceptional instruction under a competent and pragmatic instructor. The teaching approach emphasizes real-world application, making even the most complex techniques accessible and valuable for all skill levels. The instructor combines a deep knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a practical mindset, ensuring that every movement and strategy is grounded in effectiveness. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, the focus is on developing skills that work in real-life situations, which fosters confidence and a strong sense of progression in every student.
If you are looking for a legit Jiu Jitsu school with a good community of not only men but also women and families then look no further then Tai Kai under professor Ken. I dropped in for a class while traveling and had a great experience.
Fantastic academy. I was welcomed at the door, shown around the clean and complete training and locker areas, then attended a class full of humble, respectful, and tough as nails killers!! A great atmosphere to train in. Hopefully, I can squeeze a couple more classes in while I’m in town. Thanks to everyone there for the experience. Aloha, Brendan
Been a blast training with people who know way more about fighting than me! I now practice kicking doorways and shadow box myself in the mirror every morning
I’ve been training at Tai Kai for a little over two months now, attending the weekly BJJ and Muay Thai classes. Every instructor is great—very helpful and encouraging. The students are also very welcoming. I’ve learned a lot during my time here, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking to learn a new skill or simply become more active.
Great place with a lot of high level guys. I learn something everytime I am in town. They are always willing to give feedback and help out.
I have learned a lot in the five classes I have been to. Amazing people and very fulfilling.
Exceptional BJJ school! Friendly, welcoming atmosphere and lots of upper belts (black and brown) present, which is the best indicator of a quality school, I think. I dropped in for a class and an open mat while I was in town, and I’m glad I picked this one.
If you are hesitant to try, know that your most likely question following your first session will be, "what took me so long?" Extremely welcoming and supportive of new comers. You'll have experience from both ends of the spectrum and in between to learn from. Facility is huge, clean, and ran seamlessly. Family friendly and a strong sense of community.
Definitely 5 starts. Tai Kai is awesome and has a great environment and it’s good for all experience levels. I was looking for a place to train at and couldn’t find anywhere that was a good fit but Tai Kai is a great fit for me and definitely the best place around. 100% recommend.
Tai Kai is amazing! My son attends the children’s Jiu Jitsu classes and my handsome honey attends the adult Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai classes and I am starting Muay Thai classes soon! We absolutely love this dojo and have met some pretty amazing people! Ken and the other instructors are phenomenal! 10 out of 10 recommend!
After about two months of training at Tai-Kai, I’ve been thoroughly pleased with the Jiu-Jitsu classes. While others are offered, I haven’t yet tried them out. That said, there are day and evening Jiu-Jitsu classes, which has been great for my schedule. If you’re considering taking classes, reach out and at least take a free evening session to see if it’s for you.
Great people and great instructors, everybody is very welcoming. I love it here and I’m learning a lot!
I recently had the pleasure of training at Tai Kai, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how welcoming everyone was. The staff and members alike were incredibly friendly and supportive, making me feel at home right away. The highlight of my time at Tai Kai was undoubtedly the Jiu Jitsu training. The instructors are world-class, offering detailed and practical instruction that caters to all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you'll find the training both challenging and rewarding. The sense of community and camaraderie here is second to none, making every session enjoyable and productive. If you're looking for a top-notch MMA gym with exceptional Jiu Jitsu and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Tai Kai is the place to be. Highly recommended!
Clean, large, friendly facility. Did two classes back to back, from the students to the staff everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful.
Title: "Empowering Growth: A Journey at Tai Kai Jujitsu School" As a parent, witnessing my daughter Lotus's journey at Tai Kai Jujitsu School under the guidance of Instructor Ken has been profoundly rewarding. Beyond mastering the art of jujitsu, Lotus has embraced invaluable life lessons that will shape her character for years to come. At Tai Kai, the atmosphere is one of encouragement and respect, fostering a sense of community and personal growth. Instructor Ken's dedication to his students goes beyond technique; he instills discipline, perseverance, and confidence in each class. Lotus's experience at Tai Kai has been transformative. She has not only honed her jujitsu skills but has also developed resilience, determination, and a strong sense of self. The positive impact extends far beyond the dojo, influencing her approach to challenges and interactions in everyday life. I am immensely grateful to Tai Kai and Instructor Ken for providing Lotus with a nurturing environment where she can flourish both as a martial artist and as a person. The lessons she has learned here will undoubtedly serve her well on her journey through life. Thank you, Tai Kai, for empowering Lotus to become the best version of herself.
My 6 year old has been loving his time at TaiKai! Our play therapist highly recommended it for him to learn self control and focus. With the help of Ken and other coaches he’s certainly shown positive changes in school, play and in all other aspects of his life. He is also so much more confident in his abilities and less anxious from what he’s learned! He continues to strive to earn those stripes and belt up one day! I’ve enjoyed watching him and the other kids meet their goals and seeing the excitement on their faces is priceless.
For reference I’m 49 and never had any martial arts training before, and my two kids 12 and 7 were in their 2nd or 3rd year of taekwondo. They needed a change, and I wanted something to keep me in shape and to learn some self defense at the same time. My two kids and I couldn’t be happier with Tai Kai, Coach Ken, and all the other instructors, and even the other students. Every single person we’ve met in there has been extremely friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, professional, helpful and understanding. Also having Mauy Thai, Boxing, and Cardio Kickboxing in the same place is another bonus. My only regret is that I didn’t find Tai Kai for us sooner.
The best martial art gym you could ask for the instructors are nice and helpful so much knowledge from the best the community is top notch
Very welcoming group of people. Everyone there is willing to teach you something and help you progress. I highly recommend signing up and to just keep showing up, you wont regret it. I was on the fence for a long time whether or not to sign up and now i wish i did years ago.
Great atmosphere and coaching staff you must train there!
I've been coming here for 10yrs now and to be honest I couldn't image going anywhere else. My whole family trains here. This place is like a second home to us. There are several experienced black blacks to learn from. As a woman training in a male dominant sport, we have a good group of women who train from purple belt to brand new. Trust me, You'll love it here.
Good mix of beginner and advanced students, welcoming, supportive, and very good instructors
Great space and great people! The instruction is fantastic.
I've been training Brazilian Jiujitsu for 14 years and hold a black belt in it. I'm spending a few months in Syracuse as I finish school and have been training at Tai Kai while I'm here. Ken and the other coaches have been extremely welcoming to me as an out of towner! The class sizes are always strong and have a variety of people training at every rank. The instruction is always great even as someone who has trained for over a decade, and it's clear and concise enough for the beginners to follow as well.
My 6 year old son started Jiu Jitsu at Tai Kai about a month ago and it has been an awesome experience for us! We felt very welcome from the beginning. The coaches are very encouraging, skilled, and also wonderful with the kids! My son absolutely loves it and is usually bummed when class is over.
Great spot and phenomenal instruction
My entire family has been going to Tai Kai for 14 years. We started with our kids in the kids class and it snowballed from there. Now the entire gym feels like family.
I started training Muay Thai at Tai Kai Martial Arts in November and I have really enjoyed my experience so far. First of all, as far as training gyms go, it is the real deal. The gym produces real competitors in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, and the quality of instruction is top notch. However, the place is also very welcoming and supportive of all different kinds of students, from hobbyists to people who just want a workout to those interested in self defense. Starting training in my 40s with little to no experience in combat sports was intimidating at first, but everyone at the gym is really helpful and friendly. Ajarn Kevin is a great teacher and a wealth of knowledge, and the other coaches are great too. The environment is clean and respectful and the coaches care a lot about safety, which is really important. As far as the workouts go, it is some of the most intense cardio I've ever done, more so than exercise bootcamps or anything like that. It's really challenging, but I feel great afterwards. The gym has classes in Muay Thai, cardio kickboxing, boxing, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, and Yoga too. I haven't tried those others, but when you sign up you can basically take whatever you want. If you're curious I would definitely give it a try, it's without a doubt one of the best martial arts gyms around.
Great atmosphere, great coaches, great people, all around great school to learn Bjj
Been training here for 8 years and will never go anywhere else. The coaches are knowledgeable and detailed in their execution, and the facility is clean and tidy. 5 stars.
After doing my research looking for a good kid’s program and speaking with a couple of BJJ instructors I came across Tai Kai and signed up my kid. I found the staff to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I also found it to be very welcoming not just the staff but the students as well. As a matter of fact, after watching my kid there for a month I liked what I saw so much I signed myself up as well.
Tai Kai is more than just another martial arts gym. It is a welcoming community of individuals with the common goal of becoming better than they already are and having fun while doing so. I joined about a month ago and already feel accepted as part of the family. I highly recommend anyone looking to start their journey into Brazilian Ju Jitsu to first visit Ken at Tai Kai to see what it's all about
Tai kai brings me some of my best experiences, between learning multiple forms of martial arts such as muay thai which is what I train in mainly at the moment and all of the amazing people there with so many positive vibes, it's fantastic. Makes me feel great just being there and better after a good training and workout. I suggest tai kai to all of my friends, family and co-workers. I've trained there for a couple of years now and I plan on making tai kai part of the rest of my life.
Planned to drop in here while in town , prior to going I reached out about the class schedule, times etc.. communication was smooth and transparent from the start , Dropped in for a Nogi open mat Smooth warm up and some light positional drilling to get loose Then live rounds Room was full. Everyone was having a good time I had a bunch of great rounds. DEFINITELY got the work I was looking for good room good people world def suggest if you’re in the area to drop in! I will for sure 🙏🏽
Trained at a handful of martial arts schools and this is by far the best.
I have been attending the Tai Kai school for about two months now and have enjoyed every single class I've attended. Splitting my time between Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Tai, I have learned an abundance of personal protection skills. The environment is fantastic as all students are eager to learn and help one another succeed. The instructors are very attentive and encourage the progression of new students. I would recommend this to anyone seeking martial arts training.
This is a great place to go! I have been taking fitness kick boxing classes and the instructors are super chill but really push you to be active, sweat and work yourself to your potential while also teaching you. It’s a super fun hour long class but also a great work out- highly recommend it!
Kenny is the man!
As a female jiu jitsu practitioner, I will say that Tai Kai is an excellent place to train and is a welcoming, safe environment for women. I'm recently spending more time in this area and am extremely happy with my decision to join Tai Kai. The instructors are skilled black belts, friendly, and always willing to answer questions. The community is very supportive. I feel like I'm improving every week, and I look forward to continuing the life-long learning of jiu jitsu.
As an experienced jiujitsu player spending some time in Syracuse, Ken was kind enough to let me train at his academy during my stay. I got to witness a very friendly group of students, and very knowledgeable instructors. If you are wondering if this is a good place for you or your kid to start your jiujitsu journey, this is it.
I have been taking jiu jitsu classes for about 4 months now at Tai Kai, instructors are very knowledgeable and very detailed. There is a welcoming environment for beginners like myself and everyone is super helpful and encouraging. I’ve enjoyed learning useful skills here and getting a new type of workout in
Love the atmosphere they have here, super nice gym!
Good instructors and very friendly people
I’ve spent about a month here after taking a 4 year break from it and I can’t recommend this place enough for those trying to get into shape each day is only an hour or two out of your day too be feeling energized and accomplished. Not only is this place great for adults but for parents who want their children too have and interact with other kids I can’t think of anything better than this place.
This gym is just phenomenal! The instructors are knowledgeable, detailed oriented, and give you the best experience when it comes to your training. Whether you would like to get back in shape or to train and compete, this is the place to be. The atmosphere is very friendly and they accommodate classes for all ages. If you are family oriented, there’s training for the entire family.
Very clean facility with welcoming students and plenty of mat space. Offering competitive rolls for all skill levels from white to black belt.
I love this place. I take Jiu Jitsu classes and boxing. Very clean place. Showers and lockeroom facilities. Beginner friendly and also has hardcore competitors. The instructors are great I wish I started training sooner:) recently I have been doing Muay Thai and love it.
Everyone here at Tai Kai is great. Whether it’s Ken, or many of his other Black belts teaching, or the fellow students. As someone who is not a regular to this school and was traveling and visiting from another school, I was welcomed very openly as though i belonged there. This certainly speaks to the Jiu Jitsu community but more poignantly to this being a great school. If you’re considering training for the first time, please do not feel intimidated. The school and community is like an extended family.
Came in for training while in town for work and was welcomed like family. Everyone was friendly and I got some great tips to improve my skills. Highly recommend!
This is my Son's 3rd week going to Tai Kai. The first day of his trial didn't go so well. He was so shy & was completely intimidated. Ken & his team was so patient with him. My Son ended up not finishing the class & seemed defeated. He didn't want to go back. I asked Ken for another trial day & there wasn't one for another couple weeks. He was on top of letting me know if anything sooner would open, which amazingly there was a last minute opening two days later. Needless to say my Son LOVES it at Tai Kai and always asks when he gets to go back. 😄 I'm impressed with the instructors abilities to help every child in class who needs just a little bit more instructions or explanation. The patience, & respect of each instructor, the structure of the classes, & most importantly for the kids, the fun they have with them is exemplary! I am so happy this gym is here and that my Son loves it and is doing so well!
I have loved my time (2+ months) with Tai Kai. Every class feels like I am getting a wealth of knowledge and all of the instructors do a great job. All of the others students in the class assist in the learning process and are friendly. It seems like everyone there is always there to help you and they have cultivated a great environment. If you’re looking to get into Jiu Jitsu, Tai Kai is the place to do it.
Our son started classes a couple of months ago at Tai Kai and we couldn’t be happier. The atmosphere there is great and the staff is very friendly. Our son is 6 years old and he loves going there. All the instructors are great and have patience with the kids. We are so glad we enrolled him in there. Very well organized and very clean!
My daughter and I are on our first month and this being my first experience outside the military with BJJ, and an MMA facility; and my daughters first experience I'm impressed. Ken the owner is a very friendly guy and has the MMA background and experience as well as the coaching staff. I've learned a ton already, and have met some cool people training there as well. Wither you are getting into BJJ, MMA, or boxing check em out. Great facility, great coaches, great training.
I visited Tai Kai while I was traveling for work and I really enjoyed training here while I was in the area. The classes are very informative and the times are convenient. This gym has a lot of good competitors as well.
My son started classes a little less than a year ago at Tai Kai and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a very welcoming environment by both the instructors and the other families that attend. My son highly enjoys the classes and the instructors are great with the children. They are patient, understanding and work one on one with them. Not only do they teach jiu jitsu but they also teach them to respect themselves and others and they teach the children a life skill every week. Tai Kai is highly recommend!
Tai Kai is a friendly and welcoming environment. They are passionate about what they teach and offer exceptional training for members.
I've gone to several events hosted at Tai Kai over the years, and Sensei Kronenberg and his staff have always been very friendly and approachable. I've recommended Tai Kai to more than one person looking for BJJ instruction in our area.
This is a second home to my entire family! We have been members for 7+ years. Love all the people and the instructors! Ken is the owner and head instructor at Tai Kai. He is always looking out for the best interest of your child and your Jiu Jitsu journey. This place has changed my life for the better at age 40+. All levels and ages can feel completely welcomed. Hope this helps someone thinking about maybe trying it for the first time or maybe getting back on the mats. You will not regret it! UPDATE: 12/6/2021 Team Sherbourne has two purple belts and two blue belts now!!!! Thank you Ken and all coaches! UPDATE: 8/24/2023 Team Sherbourne is still going strong!!!
I joined Tai Kai at the beginning of the month. Die hard long time fan of MMA but never trained any of the various disciplines. All of the instructors are friendly and very knowledgeable. Gym is clean and spacious. What stands out most is how welcoming and supportive everyone is. They all invest in each other, and want to see you succeed. Encouragement is as common as oxygen. It’s a really motivating environment! I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new, learn self defense, or bring out your best self in any way!
My favorite part of Tai Kai is the family vibes and the competent and encouraging instructors. The kids jiu jitsu classes are very well run, we are happy to have our child learning the martial arts skills. Additionally, they incorporate themes/values like self-respect, trust, etc. The fitness kickboxing classes are also very enjoyable and stress-relieving for me! It’s nice to be able to go and watch the kids class and then go to my kickboxing class, they have a kids playroom. Everyone has been very welcoming and supportive.
I started at Tai Kai a little over a month ago, and it has truly been an amazing experience. The sense of community, knowledge in the martial arts, and encouragement Tai Kai brings is invaluable. If you are looking to grow, learn, and push yourself beyond what you thought you were capable of than Tai Kai is where you want to be.
Clean facility, good range of classes, and everyone is so helpful. I have never done any martial arts training before going to tai Kai but everyone, staff and other members, are so helpful and extremely welcoming! I have been going for about a month and am having an amazing experience!
Very helpful instruction with a variety of classes
In my currently short time at Tai Kai, I have begun to fall in love with Jiu Jitsu and really trying to dedicate myself to a brand new sport. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and Ken is an amazing teacher that makes everything so simple and easy to digest. If you are at ALL looking for a place to start your Jiu Jitsu journey, this would be the place.
These guys are super welcoming anyone in the area looking for a solid BJJ spot this is the spot lots of experienced guys that love to help work technique and give you a true workout!
Tai Kai Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been so wonderful for our son! In just a year we have seen him learn to control his body and behavior tremendously. He has become strong in body and mind while developing social skills that are tough to get sitting in a classroom. Thank you to Ken and the coaches for all of their help.
Very respectful, knowledgeable and the people and staff are all so helpful and kind to those who are new at practicing martial arts.
This school is 100% legit. I decided after many years of watching my father practice martial arts to get involved. I'm a naturally high anxiety person, so, I was kind of intimidated to walk up in this joint full of crazy skilled artists, but I swallowed it and went forward and I tell you, so much fun. It might be nerve wrecking at your first or second class but the guys/gals are open minded, welcoming and understanding. Also, the skills you can learn in a short while amazed me, and you'll get an intense workout. Just swallow that fear.
Everyone is very friendly and they make you feel comfortable as a beginner. Clean facilities. We love it there.
Tai Kai BJJ is a wonderful place to go if you're thinking about starting or continuing your jiu jitsu journey. It offers a variety of classes for all skill levels, weather it's your first time on the mats or you're a regular to the grind!!
I am not a fool in the martial arts world. I have seen good schools, commercialized schools, bread winner schools and just crappy schools. This school is different. It sets itself apart. The owners and instructors know your name, they preach loyalty, discipline and respect. They take pride in what they do - and you can tell. It's pure. It's wholesome. They have a great class schedule with lots of options and varied programs. At minimum give them a call. The rest speaks for itself. :)
I can’t say enough positive things about Tai Kai. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. My son and I just began training. Both classmates and instructors really aim to support your learning. This is a great family environment!
Great place to join, My children love it ♥️
First time in the Syracuse area for a work trip and have been training just over a year, did alittle research ahead of time and Tai Kai was by far the best option for me. It was 8 minutes from my hotel and the professor reached out to me ahead of time and invited me for a free class and met me upon arrival. Great instruction & everyone I rolled with was friendly and respectful, super happy to have found this spot while I was here in the area.
Absolutely love it here.
Started here several months ago and it's been an extremely welcoming experience! I've seen the instructors with the kids group too and they are phenomenal with the kids! I was pleasantly surprised by the number of females/girls in the classes.
Great space, lots of knowledge and helpful instructors, and students!
I have been attending classes at Tai Kai for a couple of months now, and it is a fantastic gym. There are large classes with many rolling partners, but the classes don’t suffer in quality. The instructors still give plenty of individual attention to all of the students, especially newer students. They make sure to foster a very supportive atmosphere for newer people, while providing the opportunity for lots of growth for more experienced BJJ players. Most of the classes I have attended have had roughly 4-6 black belts, as well as many brown and purple belts. The higher belts will roll with you and teach you without hesitation. It is a great community.
Was up from Long Island visiting a friend and he brought me to Tai Kai to roll with his crew. Great bunch of guys, solid no gi class with a great mix of skilled athletes. Everyone was respectful, mats were clean, I even brought my son to roll with the kids class which also had great structure and drilling for the kids. Will definitely be back to train when I visit. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking, Ken and his crew were great hosts!
I have been attending BJJ classes here for nearly a month now and so far I am loving every minute of it. The instructors are super friendly and very thorough in their technique demonstrations, always eager to help personally whenever I ask or if I'm clearly stuck on something. They are also very respectful of their students and seem to genuinely want them to succeed. The same can honestly be said for all of the other members I have trained with so far. I have to say, I am quite impressed with the sense of community and respect for one another that this gym has clearly cultivated over the years. I only wish I had not hesitated to try it out and started sooner! My two daughters (5 and 7) have been attending the kids BJJ course and it's not at all hard to see that they really look forward to every class. They have made several new friends already and talk about BJJ all the time, even on their days off so I know they are enjoying it as well. All in all, I highly recommend this school. My kids and I were completely hooked after just one free training session to feel it out and I was in no way pressured to sign up for anything.
This is an amazing place. She has done soccer, gymnastics and dance. She liked all of them, but she loves doing Jiu-Jitsu here. The coaches are great, it's clean, organized and friendly. I recommend this place to anyone not only thinking about trying Jiu-Jitsu, but you would do your self a disservice if you didn't check out the variety of other classes that are available.
I don’t think I could ever express In words what Tai Kai means to me. This place has provided me with such a sense of community, something that I had never understood that I needed. The coaches here are top notch and heavily focused on self defense as well as sport Jiu Jitsu. Tai Kai is my home away from home. If you are considering Jiu Jitsu in the CNY area, Tai Kia is the best. The coaching is amazing and varied, we have many coaches with different styles so you learn alot of different perspectives on Jiu Jitsu. You cannot go wrong by choosing Tai Kai. It’s more than Jiu Jitsu, it’s family.
I 10/10 recommend Tai Kai! My daughter is 7 and the instructors work with the kids in a wonderful teaching manor that she is learning efficiently. She loves going and never wants to miss class. It feels like a big family when you walk in! Everyone welcomes you with open arms.
My kids have tried several different martial arts studios in the past but none of them compare to Tai Kai. The staff is very welcoming and positive from the moment you walk in the door. The instructors are top notch and extremely knowledgeable. I even noticed that the owner (who introduced himself on my first visit and made the experience personal) is on site and instructing several of the classes. All the members of the class were also very welcoming and eager to help clarify directions. Tai Kai is by far the most advanced and personal level of training my kids have ever received!
If you are looking to add discipline, mental and physical strength to your arsenal look no further. I have been a student at Tai Kai for only a couple months but I cannot speak highly enough about the instructors and atmosphere. Everyone is concerned only with improving themselves and others no matter your skill level and I can honestly say I have not had one bad interaction since joining. Give it a shot, you will not regret it!
A few months ago I enrolled my two children at Tai Kai and they love it. The classes are very flexible if you have a busy schedule and my children always look forward to going. I would highly recommend Tai Kai if your looking to keep active and focused!
I am an adult woman who has never had an opportunity to participate in any type of martial arts. Ken does a great job at orientation and the coaches on your first day do a great job of teaching something simple move. People have been helpful and welcoming and while it was intimidating at first I really look forward to coming every week! Great atmosphere based on learning and self defense.
I joined as an absolute beginner 5 years ago, and I’ve had only positive experiences since. The instructors are exceptionally welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The environment has always been refreshingly clean, and there is a high level of respect felt from the moment you walk in. The students are friendly, encouraging, and build each other up. I highly recommend Tai Kai to anyone who has an interest in martial arts and improving themselves. Thank you Coach Ken, and to everyone at Tai Kai!
Tai Kai is great! I started Muay Thai about 6 months ago after a good friend recommended MMA as a new hobby. I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially as a woman, but the crew at Tai Kai has been welcoming since day one. I’ve made good friends and look forward to class every week. Plus I forgot how much I enjoyed a group fitness setting as a former college athlete. I highly recommend starting your journey here!
You’ll get spammed to join constantly but then told their classes are full on a Wednesday. Owner asked me to come in on a Saturday. Just not worth the pain to try to join if you’re looking to get a new place to workout. Especially if their workouts are too full.
