I was traveling for work and stopped by to train for a night. I have been training for a few years. Everyone here was very friendly. The Head instructor Diego has phenomenal teaching skills and his jiu jitsu knowledge is second to none. I highly recommend SAS for anyone in the area looking for a new gym or looking to get into training. I can’t wait to visit again! I had a ton of fun and learned a lot.
I’m a purple belt who stopped into this studio for an open mat while traveling and I was very impressed with the atmosphere, structure, and training partners. I’ll definitely be using only this studio anytime I’m in Syracuse.
Visited for a couple drop-ins while in town on business. Coach Diego was very kind and hospitable, and made me feel very welcome. I recently had the honor of meeting Professor Ramos. He is such a humble man. On and off of the mat. He invited me to roll with him, which was an honor and a privilege. He allowed me to ask questions after we were done, and he was happy to answer every one. I definitely can not wait to visit his academy. If you are thinking about learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Professor Ramos is the man you want to learn from in the Syracuse area, bar none.
The Professors are great, and the environment is great. Everyone is nice, and you learn bjj and it is a full body workout which makes you gain muscle and lose weight. It is beginner friendly, and you are not being judged because everyone knows it takes time to learn new skills.

Incredible instructor. Straight from Brazil (#Legit) Wonderful mats and everyone is very team and beginner friendly. There is no ego’s and anyone can walk in and learn the sport and art of defense from some truly talented people!

NOT FOR ADULT BEGINNERS. I’m sure if I had any prior experience or had seen Jiu Jitsu previously, my time there would have been far more enjoyable. But as that was not the case, and had expected some kind of beginners lesson other than “get in there,” I was disappointed to say the least. Clean space, had hoped for more.
