Highly recommend! This school is great for kids and adults. My kids enjoy attending and feel challenged while having fun. It's great for growing families with all levels of experience. Tara and Steve are welcoming and have so much patience with their students. We love the environment and are happy to have found their gym.
Would highly recommend for children,all ages, to adults. One of our kids have already been going for a few months. It has helped with her confidence and accountability. Today my wife and I, along with our son and daughter, went to the open mat held every Saturday. We all got involved and had an amazing time. As a family we participated in something new, and had so much fun. Tara and Steven, owners/instructors, are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a true passion for the sport and getting others involved. If youre looking for something new and challenging this is your place. No matter the age anyone can start as a beginner.
Summit is a fantastic gym for anyone wanting to start Jiu Jitsu or resume their training after a break. Stephen and Tara create a very positive and welcoming atmosphere. If you want to start Jiu Jitsu but are concerned about aggressive coaches and training partners, worry not. Everyone here is considerate, respectful, and qualified.
I love the all women's class. Tara is an incredible instructor who is always there to help. She gives excellent feedback and never makes you feel bad if you can't get a certain move. Highly recommend!

Awesome gym to train at. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. The instruction was great and coaches made sure there was plenty of live rolling at the end. Highly recommend checking this place out.

I'd been thinking about Jiu-Jitsu for several years but never took the step to do it. I'm glad I gave Summit a shot! Stephen and Tara are great! Classes are laid back and fun with a wide variety of experience and backgrounds on the mat. Tara and Stephen take the time to help everyone as needed. The overall culture is great. I look forward to class and sparing/grappling throughout the week and look forward to expanding my knowledge on the sport with this group.

Great place, friendly, welcoming. Instruction was awesome and really helpful. Technical instructors, perfect place to get started on Brazilian jiu jitsu or pick it back up. Definitely recommend.💪💪
If you don’t have a GI they’ll let you borrow one or they do no-gi as well.

The instructors are great. They efficiently teach the classes and allow for adequate practice/sparring time each day without sacrificing technique overview.
They do not force excessive warm-ups that turn into work outs that gas you out (They do allow you to workout, with weights, if you wish), and they allow all levels to participate day one.
The gym is spacious and always kept clean, and has small conveniences like a water fountain and private changing rooms (which other gyms sometimes lack). And the place is insulated from the Virginia winters without it being stuffy or hot.
They love what they do here and all are welcome!

I bring my two daughters for the kids class and enjoy the adult class for me. Coaches Stephen and Tara are great! They explain everything, invite questions, and offer great guidance in the classes. My daughters and I really enjoy the space to learn and the challenge of each class. The space is inviting and clean, as well!

Beginner or advanced, everyone has a place here! The instructors are top notched, patient, and make the lessons both fun and informative. I highly recommend attending the ladies only nights on Tuesdays if you are just starting out and would feel more comfortable in a smaller group setting with other women! Can’t wait to be back!!

Went to their girls night yesterday and it was awesome. It felt very personal and safe. Love to see women empowered! Definitely check out the girls night on Tuesdays if your looking to learn to self defense in a less strict environment!
