  At age 61 - and after 30 years absence from my last experience on the mat with Russian Sombo - I decided to take up grappling again to aid my overall fitness and complement my combatives striking training. I did a lot of research and the name that kept coming up was Silviu Nastasa. I couldn't have gone for a better teacher. Silviu is not only a really nice guy but also someone who walks the talk. He is extremely skillful and is an excellent teacher. He knows how to get the best out of his students, even those of us in our seventh decade! Regardless of your age, if you're into No Gi grappling, then look no further than the guys at the Submission Grappling Club.

  I train at SGC with my partner and we both agree that this is an amazing place to train at. Eoghan and Silviu are extremely welcoming and not only world class athletes in their sport, but equally fantastic teachers. They make the important and advanced details easy to understand, so even someone as scatter brained like myself can learn sequences and feel encouraged! Loads of feedback given during sparring and practice which is very motivating to apply in your personal learning. The people are awesome, all very kind and excellent to roll with. It is really nice to train at a club which has such quality training but also has great people to be friendly with. An absolute must to visit these mats!

  SMG is the best in London at the moment, with a continuous amount of high level grapplers passing through every week, no two days are the same, both coaches are at the top of their game and always welcome guys & girls from all levels to get down and participate with the friendliest welcoming and atmosphere in West London.
