such a great place to train, and learn new skills, i’m definitely going be going back regularly. Going made me feel more so much more confident in myself, I loved it. The instructor i had, Sam, was so great and very informative about everything and always gave me advice on how to improve. I couldn’t recommend a better place:)

Smooth Combat Academy isn’t just a place to train, it’s a community with heart. Beyond the mats and heavy bags, the gym carries a mission that truly matters, guiding youth away from dangerous streets, such as myself and others, channeling their energy into discipline, respect, and self-improvement through martial arts. Although it’s not just beneficial for the youth, but for the younger generation/children who have a valuable hobby to help burn off energy, plus with the increase of knife crime or crime in general, it’s best to start sooner than later to build up that experience of martial arts for self defence. That being said, Adults also have the right to discover smooth as it’s never too late to start no matter how old you are, it’s never too late. Smooth most definitely can help with someone struggling with mental issues as this gym isn’t your regular martial arts gym but a second family, a loving community that supports each other through the journey and through hard times, that being said from experience, I’ve made friends through many ages who I can relate to and hold a genuine conversation with. So if you want a gym that combines genuine community care with world-class MMA coaching, Smooth Combat Academy is the real deal.

Great gym with quality equipment and even better members, super friendly and welcoming environment, always down for a laugh and there’s a really strong team bond. Coaches are always readily available for help and guidance. They welcomed me with open arms from my very first session and helped me develop a lot. Would highly recommend martial arts to anyone, if you’re nervous about taking your first step into the martial arts world, please take them here, nowhere else better to do it.

Quality Vibe at Smooth! Excellent coaches and classes that cater for all levels. Sam has dedicated his life to MMA, he’s been through the journey himself and is not only a superb coach but an absolute gentleman. Cannot recommend enough!

Have known Sam for a number of years since he fought on Cage Warriors and smaller shows. When he opened his own gym, I knew I was in good hands - someone who knew how to train properly, knew how to push my limits and always kept us all safe and protected. What I love about the gym is it is for everyone. Complete beginners, all the way up to experienced fighters. Everyone looks after each other, no Ego's just proper training.
