I rarely take the time to write reviews, positive or negative; but I can’t speak highly enough of, or give enough praise to Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu South Denver, its staff and coaches. I am a father of two (4 yr old son and 7 year old daughter). After struggling at some other academies to find the right fit, we did some research and came across Six Blades. I was unfamiliar with the school, history, culture, anything. Reviewing the bio of Professor Rodrigo, and other Professors who teach there, I was surprised by the credentials, accolades and history that was available at an academy so close to us, that I wasn't familiar with. I grabbed my wife and 4 year old son, and headed over, mid-day, unannounced and walked in. Professor Rodrigo spent an hour with unexpected visitors explaining everything about his school, his philosophies, in life and Jiu-Jitsu, he engaged with my son about Jiu-Jitsu, respect, shaking hands properly, looking people in the eye when you greet them, all sorts of stuff, my son seemed to walk out of there an inch taller with pride. We left there committing to come that afternoon with the kids for the Little Champs class. That single class changed my kids outlook on what Jiu-Jitsu can be for them, and now they love, love to train. They train 2-3 days a week for the last 6 months now, and have been promoted in rank. The sense of community, commitment to Family, school events and activities at Six Blades is unlike any other academy I’ve trained at before. The classes are personal and are taught by some truly capable Jiu-Jitsu experts, this goes for the kids and adult classes. If you’re looking for the best place to introduce your kids to a martial art (the best martial art in my view), where they'll learn about discipline, self defense, honor, courage and get some energy out of them, this is the place and you won’t regret it.

I am so glad I found Six Blades Jiu Jitsu. I was hesitant to start learning after 50. Six Blades has a really friendly and welcoming vibe. The professors are fantastic, I never felt intimidated, they helped me learn at a safe pace. Thanks to their guidance and encouragement, I feel fit again!

My 14 y/o son started training at Six Blades because he was experiencing some harassment at school and wanted to build self confidence and be prepared to defuse any unwanted unpleasantries. Everyone at Six Blades was very welcoming and warm and made him feel as part of the “family” right away. I had my reservations because I am against physical resolution of conflict, but Six Blades approach to training is anything but. They focus on self defense and finding balance in strengthening individuals’ physical and mental power, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle. It’s not the typical tough guys macho man environment you see at some gyms/dojos. We couldn’t be happier to have found Sensei Rodrigo and his team, they are wonderful teachers, but above all, they are great people.

FIRST CLASS! There are many BJJ gyms to choose from, but few with the instruction, leadership and world accomplishments as professor Rodrigo Antunes. I prefer the morning class (fits my schedule better) and enjoy professor Marco’s teaching as well. One of the very best in the world and instructs/teaches with passion. I transferred to the area from another state and am happy I found this place after considering some others. Lots I could write about, but best advice is to just give it a try. SM

Rodrigo and the rest of the staff at Six Blades are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming. It has been a wonderful school for our entire family. My husband started his Jiu Jitsu journey about 6 months ago and has fell in love. He has spread that to our 3 year old who now does the parent tot class. I love that she is actually learning life skills at such a young age. I want her to know how to control her body, emotions, have confidence in herself, and be a good leader. These are some of the main values that Six Blades works to help all people have! I have been very impressed with Six Blades and would recommend it to everyone!

Today I visited Six Blades Jiu Jitsu for the first time as a visitor. I met the Program Director and Professor Rodrigo Antunes, who was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I also got to meet and train with Professor Marco Flores and "Smokey" Adams, who teaches Judo. I was very impressed with everyone professionalism and respect for the martial arts. The gym was clean and the atmosphere was energetic. The hours they train will fit most people's schedule. Although I am only here for about another week, I will train here again a couple more times, before I travel back home. I recommend to anyone who wants to train Jiu Jitsu or Judo to come check out Six Blades Jiu Jitsu in Denver, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again Professor Rodrigo for the training.

I enjoy Professor Rodrigo and Marco’s teaching style. Both professors are extremely knowledgeable in this sport and give great instructions on the techniques we are working on. There are multiple black belts that help coach lower belts, allowing lower belts to gain multiple techniques from different viewpoints. They ensure a safe place for training and keep reinforcing technique/posture to avoid injuries. I’ve enjoyed training with this gym and encourage anyone who is looking into getting into the sport to try this location!

I’ve loved training at Six Blades since it opened! Professors Rodrigo and Marco are both so knowledgeable, patient, and supportive. The way they break down bjj techniques in detail clarifies aspects of the art that have alluded me for years. A simple changing of one angle in my body or adjustment of a grip drastically improves the effectiveness of a technique. I’ve learned to maneuver around my training partners with elegance and efficiency. I love how engaged the professors are with the students throughout practice, especially during live rounds. Those applied technical corrections really make the lessons stick.

We love this school! They treat everyone like family. I also have my kids learn from Sensei Rodrigo and Professor Marco and my kids love going. I can’t say enough good things about the training, philosophy and the flexibility that Six Blades provides the students. I also like the way the school is set up to teach students of all experience levels. I came in with no experience and felt welcomed and started to learn about this amazing discipline. The character qualities of the instructors is of the highest and the they have the utmost integrity. I HIGHLY recommend!

I met Professor Rodrigo at an open house at his new school. I went to support friends and the BJJ community. Professor Rodrigo greeted me like an old friend. I I was having trouble training due to my hectic work schedule, and I went to a class to get some training in. What I didn't expect was that I would love the community and the curriculum. I have been training at ah excellent Academy, but ultimately I decided to join Six Blades South Denver. The instruction is top-notch, and there’s also focus on longevity. As a soon to be 56-year-old, I’m looking to practice BJJ for the rest of my life. I feel that I can do that at Six blades, and everyone is verysupportive in my goals. If you want to learn Brazilian, jujitsu, learn to move better, and be around very good people, Six blades is for you!

I trained Jiu Jitsu a long time ago and had to stop due injuries.
