had an amazing experience at Sheepdog Jujitsu while visiting Tulsa! Blake was awesome—he gave great, personalized instruction that really helped me improve my skills. Even though I was from out of town, he made me feel welcomed right away. The school had such a great vibe, and everyone training there was friendly and supportive. Whether you’re local or just passing through, I highly recommend checking them out!

Professors Blake Hayes and Micah Stockton have created a clean, professional environment in which they provide exceptional instruction for Jiu Jitsu that is supplemented by striking classes. They have created a well rounded community that not only supports each other in training, but outside of it as well as the environment has attracted a number of professionals that act as a great network as well. 10/10 would sign up again.

Excellent instruction with multiple time slots, love being able to train during the lunch hour. It won’t be easy but will be rewarding. Only 5 stars because it won’t let me give 6.

Sheepdog Ju-Jitsu and it's owners have been great mentors to our business. I've been to a lot of gyms in town and this is by far one of the cleanest, well ran and organized gyms in the state. Blake is doing an amazing job and I wish you all success for years to come. Thank you for all that you have done for our business and the community.

Blake is the most experienced jiu-jitsu jitsu coach in tulsa. I still remember 20 yrs ago when he was the only grappler in tulsa that even owned a jiu jitsu gi. Micah and nataani are great coaches also. Micah is a retired mma champ and nataani is a future mma champ.

Excellent self defense training. I recently started training here and am impressed with the high level of instruction and self defense focus. I come from a self defense oriented jiu jitsu school and these guys are doing it at a very high level that is accessible to everyone.

I would highly recommend Sheepdog Jiu-Jitsu for children. My 6 year old son started when wrestling season ended and it has been a blessing. We used the free lesson to see what it was like and haven't looked back. Professor Hayes and Stockton are caring, phenomenal teachers, and extremely patient. Each class there is time set aside where the kids grapple with a partner to implement what's been taught which is crucial to learning how to use the moves in real life situations. My son looks forward to practice every week and it has become a way of life for him. Thanks again to everyone at Sheepdog for being so welcoming and creating a family environment.

I’ve been training with Blake for four years now and recently Micah. This is THE best school if you want to learn how to stay safe and keep your family safe. They are skilled, patient and can teach anyone and any learning style as long as you are willing to learn. My wife and kids have started Jiu Jitsu here and have loved it. Great community for first responders as well. You won’t regret coming to Sheepdog Jiujitsu!

I have been going to Sheepdog for a month now and would absolutely recommend it to anybody wanting to learn a self defense based martial art. I have worked in the security industry for several years now doing everything from bouncing at bars to executive protection. In this time I have taken several self defense courses. I have also made my way out of a few life threatening situations up to stopping an armed robbery and preventing the aggressors from getting back to their stolen vehicle before law enforcement could arrive. Sheepdog Jiu-Jitsu has really done a fantastic job in taking what I thought I knew about self defense and brought it all the way back down to a baseline through realistic training. This isn't choreography styled self defense. You drill, but you also have the opportunity to pressure test what you've just worked on so that you don't gain an unrealistic idea that a technique will just work instantaneously. The gym is a clean and safe environment for all no matter their level of skill starting out. Instructors are great at making sure everybody is on the same page and have no problem walking you through new techniques. The students will not injure you as everybody is there to learn and improve. If you're looking for a gym don't wait! Join Sheepdog Jiu-Jitsu and get the training you need to be prepared for whatever life may throw at you. Thank you Blake and Micah for being exceptional trainers! It's been a privalege to train under you and I can't wait to continue learning and progressing with you gentlemen.

I've known these instructors for more than a decade and can tell you that they are some of the most knowledgeable out there. They spend time continuing to learn all they can and grow in their respective arts. They care about their students and are passionate about sharing their love of the arts with those who walk through the door.

Fantastic place to learn practical self defense. Blake and Micah are absolutely top notch instructors. Fellow students are excellent training partners. It is a safe place to learn and train for men and women alike. The atmosphere is very friendly and supportive - Blake has gone out of his way to support me in my weird schedule! He is very protective of his students, especially the newbies, and makes sure everyone safe and supported. If you are at all interested in jiu-jitsu I encourage you to come try a class and see for yourself!

Sheepdog Jujitsu is by far the most realistic approach to self-defense I have experienced. The approach to training is honest, with an intense focus on developing the fundamentals that make jujitsu work. The instructors are dedicated to ensuring students understand the principles behind each lesson. It is a great learning environment where everyone helps each other and if you're willing to put in the work, you will definitely wee the results.

Professor Blake Hayes and Professor Micah Stockton run a tight ship both figuratively and literally at Sheepdog Jiu-Jitsu. They have top notch knowledge and real life experiences that they bring to their style of instruction that sets them apart. Both of these instructors blend their unique styles seamlessly to provide some of the best self defense money can buy. They offer several different class times as well as kids and adults classes and traditional Gi as well as NoGi options as well.

Sheepdog Jiu Jitsu will become your secondary family. They're welcoming of all skill levels, and you'll excel in no time with them. Blake and Micah are fantastic instructors with an emphasis on true self defense. It's rare that you'll see so much talent sitting in the same room and they can help all shapes and sizes of people. Jiu jitsu has transformed my life and Sheepdog Jiu Jitsu has only made it better. If you've been on the fence about trying it out, swing by and see how friendly everyone is!

I’m 51 and have trained Jiu Jitsu a little over 7 years total. I started at Sheepdog last September. In just a few short months, Blake, Micah, Glen, and Jeremy have sharpened my technique in both ground and stand-up considerably. My overall fighting and self-defense skill set has become more well-rounded and I am definitely “harder to kill” than I’ve ever been. Being older and one of the smaller grapplers (5’6”, 160lbs), avoiding injury is an important consideration. The instructors make sure everyone can train safely. The environment is always respectful and the other students are tough as nails, with several taking home gold, silver, and bronze medals at the last AGF tournament. I’d trained with Blake at other schools over the years and always enjoyed his teaching style. His decision to open his own school is an awesome opportunity for the Tulsa community. Whether you’re starting brand new or been training a while and want to level up your skills, you gotta check it out.

My 6 year old son started here and we are so thankful for the opportunity. He really loves it and I am so glad that he did not want to quit when his previous gym closed down. He struggled a lot with school and also struggled being one of the smallest kids in his class. Jiu Jitsu has made such a difference in his self confidence and self control. If you have ever thought to have your child learn self defense while gaining self confidence and improving self control this place has an amazing mission and really great professors and role models and the owner is one of the kindest people I have ever met who really sees the child's heart. Go check it out!
