This is my other home. I have trained off and on for 16 years and Omar is not only a great teacher, but a great friend and mentor to many. More than a gym, more like a family. Trained there for 2 and a half years.
The best BJJ academy around. Professor Omar French and Mariangel have created such a positive atmosphere. They treat everybody like family. Even with their decades of experience, they are open minded, always learning, and helping each student with their individual goals. I am so blessed to be a part of their team.
This place has changed my life for the better! If your looking to learn self defense, have a social outlet, just get in shape, or start a fun new hobby THIS is the place to go. My expectations for what to expect from a competitive martial art gym were flipped when I started training here. Id recommend Omar French Brazilian JiuJitsu to everyone from my little nieces and nephews to my old ass uncle!! Something here for everyone!
Highly suggest this gym for anyone new to the sport, everyone is very welcoming and helpful and have become my second family <3
Great facility, even better people with clear and consistent instruction and a great culture surrounding the art and competition!
This academy has the greatest environment! I could not ask for much more when it comes to having a place to train, learn, and improve yourself everyday. The people at this academy have become my family!
The best Bjj school in the state my opinion. Omar has made me and my family like their own family. I am a student for life here. This is great for new and experienced people no matter background!! Everyone there makes me feel welcomed and always goes out there way to make sure I learning and safe.
Great instruction from Omar. The people here are very welcoming. Everyone trains hard and pushes each other to be their best. The mats and equipment are cleaned after every training session. If you are looking for a jiu-jitsu gym that will help lift you up, this is the place.
I don’t train here but stop in for open mats and Omar’s team is extremely nice and respectful. I enjoy training with his students I’m always learning something new.
My 9 yr old absolutely loves it! Great for all ages & skill levels 👏
Omar cultivated an amazing environment here! All the coaches and higher belts are all very skilled and great teachers!
Went to see a family member and it was pretty nice the interaction the owners have with everyone is great, they're super nice people.
Absolutely the best place!! Great atmosphere, great coaches, and kids/adults just love coming everyday!!
The people are very nice and the establishment is clean and up to date decor. They have kids classes and women's classes and open mat sessions all week. They do offer more extra classes and personal training for one on one personable lessons to enhance your martial arts knowledge and techniques. I highly recommend this academy.

At the end of last year I joined OFBJJ with two of my kids (a 10-yr-old boy and 7-yr-old girl). I was 39, weak, and fat. I didn’t push the kids, I just wanted them to have a place to make friends and learn how to do physical stuff. I was happy to hear them say they wanted to keep going. If you’re looking for a place to join, visiting a BJJ academy can be intimidating: guys doing rough stuff, everybody knows each other, and (as you get older like me) you live with the realization that you just can’t do what you used to be able to do. All of that makes it difficult to walk into a new gym. I mean it’s easier to get a Fatty at Burn Co. and watch football. But if you’re debating, give Omar’s place a try. Here’s why: 1) It’s a family friendly gym with excellent upper belts giving their time to help teach kids jiu jitsu. In a class of 12-20, you’ll have up to five trainers helping out. 2) Omar’s a great guy and a pretty good instructor :). So much of the tension I mentioned above is handled by his cool-headed example and laid back attitude. I’ve never heard him say an unkind word or denigrate anyone in anyway. He lives in reality and will help you to get to your potential, wherever you’re starting (or continuing) your BJJ journey. I came to the gym with years of karate and knew I would have to start over, and he was cool with that and supportive. So, for first timers I will say, “This is your gym”. 3) The guys at the gym are some pretty cool guys (and gals!). Yes, there’s a core group-but there’s a network of BJJ guys and gals that cycle in and out regularly. Give respect and you will get respect. There’s a mix of belts, and some really good guys to help you learn the ropes. Listen, every gym needs different types of guys to help you along the way. You don’t want a gym full of pansies, but you don’t want a gym full of nutcases either. OFBJJ has a couple of guys who will push you hard in the realms of pain if you want to (you should!), but there’s also guys who are chill and will flow a little more laid back. If you’re going to learn BJJ, you need a mix. Some of the best lessons I learned were from nutcases who sat on me and made me endure. 4) Price is good for what you get! And I suggest you get all you can from Omar, because he’s willing to give it to you. It was one of the best decisions of my life, and we’re so thankful to he and Mariangel for starting us on what we hope to be a lifelong BJJ adventure. OOSSUU!
