This is by far the best BJJ gym in Vegas. You will not get the attention to detail and amazing technique anywhere else at all. This is a family environment, and extremely welcoming as well. They hold true to their values, which is something very rare these days. Master Sergio Penha and his son Professor Eduardo Penha are wealths of knowledge. It is also only a matter of time before Eduardo is in the UFC boasting an undefeated professional MMA career where he utilizes his BJJ. Stop in, you will not regret it.

I visited as a drop in and had one of the best experiences! I felt welcomed by Prof. Sergio and his students super friendly and helpful! The atmosphere was relaxed. The techniques I learned were full of helpful nuggets! Prof. Sergio's teaching was to the point, but one of the things I enjoyed most was his sense of humor! He was a great human being overall!

Wow! What a great family and great experience! We stopped in to check with the professor in the morning and watched them teach and roll during the 1030 AM class. Professor Penha talked about his philosophy and his background in BJJ starting in Brazil. He is a 7th Degree Black/Coral belt. We told him we train at a small gym back in Tampa and he happily invited us back for the afternoon class. The instruction was precise and started from simple to more advanced followed by several rolls. Both my son and I rolled with higher belts that treated us firmly but fair and gave us tips along the way. This is now my gym whenever I am in town again and I recommend you visit too!

Was traveling in the area and was allowed to drop in for a class. Was not initially able to get in touch by phone but showed up and was welcomed with open arms. Had a great lesson from Richard and look forward to visiting again when back in Vegas. Everyone there treated me like family-couldn’t ask for a better group of people!

Great place to learn Brazilian jujitsu ! Also a great place to take your kids .. Also if your old like me ... I highly recommend this dojo!! And train with a legend of bjj.. .You want to learn Brazilian jujitsu .. You see this is directly from the source... So he knows so much detail so much moves .. And it's very helpful to knew students.. They can go easy on you.. You can go at your own pace .. And they guide you .. As there are some tough guys there .. You need not to worry ... High caliber bjj ! Id give it 1O stars ...

I came to Vegas on vacation from MI & wanted to train at a new gym, as I'm sure many of us jiu jitsu guys & gals do. Sergio Penha's gym welcomed me with open arms. If you are in Las Vegas this is the school you want to go to!! It is an amazing academy!! I came in while on vacation and immediately felt welcome and at home. They took me in like I had been training there for years and made me feel extremely comfortable. Everyone their introduced themselves to me, one of the friendliest schools I have ever dropped in on. The talent in this school is top tier. They are very technical, in awesome shape and can go for rounds and rounds. All in all it was an awesome experience.

Family - Loyalty - Respect. These 3 words is the credo of Sergio Penha's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy and is a perfect description of what you'll experience here. My review is from the perspective of someone with no combat sport experience, who was curious but always somewhat intimidated to check out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sergio, his instructors and students are all very friendly, welcoming and very tough! I've seen many of his students at all levels roll/spar and everything is at a high level of skill and energy. BJJ is full contact and I'm constantly out of my comfort zone but I'm in a controlled environment with some great BJJ practitioners who help me get better. I get pushed to my physical capabilities and every class ends with a feeling of accomplishment. It's very addicting in many ways as you become stronger physically and mentally while learning BJJ. Sergio is an amazing teacher with decades of BJJ experience as one of only 21 8th degree Black Belts in the world. He breaks down Jiu Jitsu in a way someone with no experience (like myself) can pick up. Every move is with purpose and it's explained to you clearly how and WHY we're performing the moves as we learn and perform them. Additionally, every single person I've been paired up with takes his same approach teaching others. Everyone is there to get better and make others better as well. I've just started my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey and I'm very fortunate to come across Sergio's. Sergio is so personable, friendly and his leadership trickles down to his students throughout the academy. There's a great positive vibe and everyone there is ready to put in work and push each other. Whether you're the greenest beginner like myself, or someone who's been practicing BJJ for many years, you'll feel right at home at Sergio Penha's. Enjoy...! =)

Unlike some other gyms, this one is actually taught by the master himself, Sergio Penha. There are no egos at this gym. Everyone is there to help each other grow physically and mentally. You have fun while sweating your butt off and learning techniques that could potentially save your life one day. Perfect for self defense especially for women and young adults. The children’s class has helped my son with more patience and to channel energy in a positive way plus gets away from video games to do physical sport. The higher belts are patient and make you feel respected. Pretty old school so not fancy like some other gyms to be honest but you pay for the best training and it’s worth every penny.

Sergio Penha is an absolutely amazing Jiu jitsu instructor. His gym is extremely tight knit, meaning from the moment you walk in everyone makes you feel like a close friend. There are no egos in this gym and the instruction is from Sergio himself. I cannot say enough great things about this gym the owner. He truly loves Jiu jitsu and spending time with his students and friends.
