Ashely and Coach John are amazing. My daughter’s been going there for close to 3 years. Once my son is old enough I’d like him to take classes as well. Everything is hands on, and the academy is super clean. I highly recommend.
I have been coming to the adult classes here for 2.5 years; there’s great teaching and community. Welcoming to all levels from day 1 white belts to experienced black belts. No egos just people working together to get better

I’d been looking for a place to train in the summer when I’m in NH and decided to give Sanders BJJ a try. I dropped in and was immediately welcomed by John and Ashley, even as someone ‘from another gym’. Met some great people and grew my BJJ game a lot in just a couple months. The coaches really get to know you and are really invested in your BJJ development. I already can’t wait to get back. Try it out you won’t regret it!

Had my first class tonight and it was fantastic. My 12 year old son has been coming here for a few months and he loves it too.
We love Sanders! My boys have been doing jiu jitsu there for 1 year and it has been a wonderful experience. John & Ashley are amazing with the kids, and put so much passion and attention into their teaching. John has become a mentor to my boys, and really created a family environment at Sanders. I know my boys will carry these memories for a life time ❤️
My 3 kids have been attending Sanders Jiu Jitsu for 18 months. Watching them grow both on and off the mats has been amazing. Coaches John and Ashley have created both a safe but competitive environment for students to train in Jiu Jitsu and grow in character.
The culture of the community here has been very welcoming. You will find additional mentors within the higher belt students who will provide guidance and support within the school and at the various competitions the school competes at.
Me and my kids have been trying here for almost 2 years now. Coaches John and Ashley are amazing with the adults and kids. They have all the younger kids play some games that help them learn the techniques easily while having fun. They offer plenty of time to learn techniques slowly while having plenty of time at each class to roll as much as want. My son has competed at 10 competitions now and loves it.

I’ve been training for about 6 months. I am bigger guy 6’5 315 lbs. The Sanders Jiu Jitsu family has been nothing but welcoming. Everyone who attends kids and adults are respectful and welcoming. From a good workout or being interested in competing this place is a great destination for all heights and weights.

I have been training for 9 months now and can’t express with words how truly amazing this academy is. The level of attention and teaching methods are easily digestible and coached in a way that really get them cemented into my brain and body. Not only do they have a growing and great adult program, they have a child program that keeps growing and growing into an army of little Jiu Jitsu soldiers! My son has also been training now for going on 3 months and he LOVES the class.

I recently visited back home and luckily enough found a BJJ gym right down the road, so I dropped in on an open mat. John and everyone at SJJ) couldn't have been more welcoming. Great rolls, high level instruction, and nice tough people. Definitely swing through if you're in town. Thanks John; looking forward to another visit!

Im born and raised hear in NH. I moved out west for school in early 2000s. Started training with John Sanders around 2005, in the Ocean beach area of San Diego, CA. After a few years relocating several times I trained with a handful of instructors. John Sanders reached out and used his personal contacts to connect me with places to train with instructors of the same lineage and Carlson Gracie based system in Tucson, AZ and both the southwest and Northeast coastal regions at times just to make sure I was in good hands. Its rare to find this level of passion, respect, & commitment to ones craft. Classes are available from 1st day kids & beginners up to top level black belt competition training. If you've wanted to start or have training and want to advance your BJJ skills from any level to the next level this is the place you want to do it.

If you've ever thought about starting jiu jitsu, this is the place to go. John is an excellent teacher with a laid back, but professional style. His teaching environment creates an atmosphere where everyone wants to help you improve regardless of what belt rank you have. New members are welcomed with open arms. There are no egos, and everyone is helpful. If you have experience with jiu jitsu, give this place a try and see how it compares. You won't be disappointed. Best place ever!

I have been training with John for almost 10 years and can say, with the utmost confidence, that New Hampshire is very fortunate to have a Brazilian jiu jitsu instructor with his knowledge and background.
John's classes are highly informative and challenging, yet safe and FUN. There are students from all professions and backgrounds that help each other succeed and enjoy their time on the mat.
To anyone looking to try Brazilian jiu jitsu for whatever reason (fun, fitness, self defense, curiosity, etc.), I cannot recommend Sanders Jiu Jitsu any higher.

John is also one of the most patient and knowledgeable people I've met. Just watching him traing young children is all you need to see to understand his level of expertise and passion for BJJ. Of course you want to know if John Sanders' jiu jitsu is amazing (which it is), but what you also need to know is that he's an equally incredible instructor, coach, storyteller, and just an all around good dude. I always considered it an honor to train with John while I lived in NH, and will certainly be dropping in if I'm ever around in the future.

John, is an exceptional example of a true BJJ professional, he has been in the game for a very long time and his commitment to his students is impressive, more often then I can recall I have heard him calling out advise to me when I'm in a less than "optimal" position with another practitioner,
regardless of whether I do as I'm instructed at that moment this dedicated approach is unfounded I'm my personal experience until finding him.
