This place is great and our kids love it. They provide a very easy pace for kids but it's still great for young ones that have tons of energy to burn. Now I want to sign up too!
Posted 1 year agoI have 30 years experience in martial arts, hold multiple black belt degrees in Judo and Taekwondo, and am also a professional educator. I cannot recommend Jay’s gym highly enough. He is a true expert and fantastic teacher. He has built a supportive, laid back culture that nurtures beginners and challenges experienced players. Whether you’re interested in martial arts for fitness, self-defense, or even competitive jiu jitsu, this is a great place to learn and grow as a martial artist.
Amazingly clean facility and amazing instructors
On my first visit I was greeted by multiple people with welcoming conversations. I was made to feel at home through my whole visit. I picked up a new technique during class that I had not seen before. (I use this move once in a while during live rolls at my home gym.) I like Jay and the four horsemen gym.
As a blue belt I did a drop in during one of the Saturday morning classes. I was first greeted by a few of the early students and when Jay showed up I got a big hug and a welcome. Very chill atmosphere. Music keeping us company with Jay’s easy fun instruction. Super chill. I’ve dropped into a few schools and I get pretty nerved up before. The learning environment was safe and comforting. I come from a background as an older grappler with some physical disabilities, and I felt no pressure to “tear myself apart.” Don’t get me wrong this wasn’t Mr. Rogers’s BJJ school, I did get a few taxing rolls in with one of their purple belts. If you are just dropping in or looking to jump into the deep end of the jiu jitsu life style, 4 Horsemen is a great choice. I’ll be back.
I’m so happy to be able to drop in at Four Horsemen when I’m in the area. As a visitor Jay and the other students are extremely welcoming, respectful and friendly. As a 105 lb female it’s a bit tough to find a gym to train while traveling or on vacation. This place is great for people of all shapes and sizes! I’ve been training and competing for 4 years and Four Horsemen is definitely at the top of my list for favorite gyms to visit while away from home. Also appreciate Jay sharing his knowledge with someone who is just in town for a few days. Whenever I see him he helps me fine tune my technique. Thanks for having me!
An excellent school for either someone new to Jujitsu or a seasoned grappler looking for a solid school to sharpen yiur skills!
A great studio with a top notch instructor. Highly recommend!
Has helped improve my game tremendously. Recommended for all levels.
I joined Four Horsemen Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a 37 year old with zero experience in any martial art. To say that I was a bit intimidated is an understatement. When I arrived, I was immediately welcomed and introduced to the other members. Being new to a group that regularly trains together can be intimidating but Coach Jay took the time to make me feel welcomed and included immediately. Jay does an amazing job instructing us on different techniques and makes a point to circulate around the class to provide more individualized instruction. Jay has created an amazingly supportive culture here and makes safety a priority. Jay has been amazingly patient with me and the other members, he really cares. I have been training at Four Horsemen BJJ for four months now and it has genuinely changed my life. Jay and the other members have quickly become friends, I cannot say enough about how great this place is. If you're interested in BJJ or just looking to get a workout, this is the place to do it. Give Four Horsemen a shot, you will not regret it!
Awesome BJJ gym and awesome instructor/coach. Jay is very knowledgeable, down to earth , and welcoming. Great training environment and classes 6 days a week. Highly recommend, 10/10.
Jay is an awesome instructor If you're in the area you can't go wrong taking class here
Jay is a fantastic coach, combining exceptional skill and teaching styles with humor and has made an awesome training environment!!!
George is the best. Great gym and a great teacher.
New BJJ school that just opened up in Barrington, NH. Jay the head coach there is an awesome instructor. Jay combines high level technique with a great sense of humor. Highly recommend the fun engaging atmosphere he and the gym provides. He offers gi and no gi for a mix of styles.
George "Jay" Hanley not only is a high level BJJ black belt, he's a great guy. I have observed him at open mat at another gym taking time to help brand new white belts and then without missing a beat he is pushing black belts out of their comfort zone. He is truly dedicated to the sport and has a way of making everyone in the room, no matter what their level of experience or athletic ability, feel like they belong. If you're a hard-core grappler looking to take it to the next level or a desk-jockey looking for a place to release some stress, you will not be disappointed in Four Horsemen or Jay.
Great place to train, Jay is a skilled instructor and creates a welcoming atmosphere
George Hanley knows BJJ and truly understands his students, their learning styles, and their goals. He works incredibly well with the talents on constraints to help students achieve what they didn’t think they were capable of. He does all this with a smile and genuine care. BJJ requires desire and commitment. George brings his side of the equitation.
