I have been to 3 different BJJ schools in the Seacoast and they all are great. I am in my 50’s and have found Kevin Watson BJJ a perfect environment for a newbie. There are different black belts running different classes so you get a lot of exposure to different outlooks. Kevin is awesome and is so welcoming and takes the time to sit down with everyone, new and experienced, and develops a friendship with you. I have found everyone with knowledge and experience so helpful and confidence boosting. I leave every class learning something new and usually having met another welcoming person. I attend the morning classes because it works best with my schedule and they welcome you like a family. I started here wanting to learn BJJ, but I come alot more than I thought I would because I enjoy being around everyone that goes there. High quality owner and it resonates with everyone that goes there. My son now goes here and its the same for him, he wants to come, I dont have to force him. I would suggest anyone, any age to give KWBJJ a try.

Kevin is the best coach around. He teaches with respect, intelligence and patience. He can train anyone from kids, folks over 50, serious competitors, and first responders. He is good with every single person. He is very excellent at finding your style of jiu jitsu and making it work. He offers a bunch of different classes. Go here!!! Kevin is an INCREDIBLE teacher. He is highly skilled and adept at sharing his expertise, without a doubt. He is also very conscientious and makes a practice space that anyone can feel welcome in. When my son first started, he was anxious and shy about participating. Working with Kevin over the last two years has had such a huge impact on him. Not just in growing his skill in BJJ, but also building his confidence and sense of self. My only regret is that we didn't have him start sooner, as I see the little ones in there, gaining that good practice and strength so young!!! I can see our son continuing with Kevin through adulthood, he so looks forward to BJJ. Very Grateful to my sister for recommending Kevin Watson BJJ in the first place :)

My 3-year-old and I trained daily with the KWBJJ family for 8 months as much as we could, twice a day most days, after I was unexpectedly laid off. This was the best 8 months of Jiu Jitsu training EVER!! KWBJJ has a wonderfully fun system of instruction for all the kids and there is never a dull moment in the kid's classes. The adult classes are taught by Kevin and his instructors with an incredible wealth of knowledge, patience and humbleness. I've been training here for about a year, having never done any combat sports. I have to say the atmosphere Kevin and the other Instructors creates is nothing less than awesome. The coaching is top notch with a great balance between drilling and applying the techniques with sparring. There is no egos on the mat everyone is friendly and always looking to help one another become better practitioners. I joined because it looked fun, I stay for the comradery. There isn't any other gym I'd want to train at. If you're reading this and up in the air on whether to try it out, the first class is free!

It can be intimidating to try something new, especially for shy, introverted people like me, but the coaches are so laid back and knowledgeable that you will soon be at ease. I have been training under Kevin Watson for over 3 years. I cannot say enough good things about him or his school but I will try to explain the reasoning behind the 5 star rating. First the ciriculumn is top notch and you will learn the most basic fundamentals and also learn de la riva, deep half guard and leg locks. The students are a reflection of Kevin's easy going personality and I have always felt safe and challenged when training at KWBJJ. Classes pretty much available every morning and evening including an open mat on Saturday's. Kevin is a great personality and his jiu jitsu is very legitimate. My training has already gotten to a level i never dreamed of when I started at KWBJJ and I'm only 3 years in. You won't be disappointed.

I have two boys in his kids class they love it. They talk about it all the time at home. Kevin is a good mentor with a level head and his instructors are great. I can't say enough about this place or the amazing people here. My son was being bullied so much at school, that after the second concussion, and many tears, I was at a loss. My child is very mild mannered, and would never fight back to protect himself. While at work, I got yet another call from the school nurse that my child was in the office having been hurt at recess again. A co-worker of mine, who trains at KWBJJ, suggested I bring my son to meet Kevin. That evening, I brought my son to KWBJJ and we met Kevin. While crying my eyes out, I told him our story. He gave me a big hug and said, "Don't worry mama. I can help him.", and help him he has. In a short amount of time, my son has gained a confidence I prayed he would one day find. Even a school employee said she used to see my child walking through the halls, head down, and quiet. Now he laughs, jokes, and says hello to everyone. I owe so much to not only Kevin, but everyone at KWBJJ for accepting us as a part of the family. My son finally feels like he has a safe place where he belongs. I could ask for nothing more as a parent.

Hard to find, I didn't even see the entrance the first time with gps. Jiu jitsu is fun. The owner ankle-locked me on my first day as a white belt...so that was a bit concerning. Kevin has tattooed rockers when he lived in Seattle in the 90s ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not the best experience, my son began classes there and after purchasing a gi with the dojo logo on it per owners instructions - after a month, owner decided my son was too young to continue his training and refused to refund money for the gi. Not about the money but about failure to adhere to fundamental best practices and unprofessional attitude as a business owner. Very disappointing.

Plumbing not great, classes always getting canceled. For example, today: "... last minute cancel. We have a sewer back up and there's a mess in the hall and bathrooms so there will not be any classes tonight. The plumber is here but doesn't expect to be done till after 5 tonight. No kids classes or adult classes."
