As an adult member and a parent of a 5 year old member, all I can say that the coaching team and all the members at East are simply the best in the bjj game in Bristol and beyond. Highly recommend to anyone that's thinking of joining.
Roger Gracie East Bristol is a fantastic place to train. The atmosphere is welcoming and focused — a perfect balance for anyone serious about learning but who also enjoys being part of a supportive community. The instructors are excellent, especially Reece, who brings a real depth of knowledge and experience to every class. Whether you're a complete beginner or more advanced, you’ll come away having learned something valuable every time. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with two spacious mat areas that keep the classes flowing smoothly even when it's busy. Highly recommend for anyone looking to train BJJ in Bristol — great vibes, great coaching, and a solid team.
I can't say enough good things about this club! From the moment you walk in, you're met with a wonderfully friendly and supportive atmosphere. The instructors are clearly experts in their field. I had a great experience in the women's-only class. It's also wonderful to see how well the kids' program is run. It's amazing to see how much my son enjoys the kids' jiu-jitsu classes. He always mentions how many coaches are available to assist and how even the more experienced kids are willing to help out during training. This club truly fosters a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for everyone. This is truly an exceptional club to join – I highly recommend it!
RGA East is my new club since I moved to Bristol and I've felt totally welcome by the whole team since day 1. The coaches are all experienced competitors, the schedule is packed so I can train every day if I want to, and the classes are a great vibe. The facility is also fantastic with 2 huge mats and decent changing rooms with showers. Highly recommended!

He has excelled extremely since coming here six months ago, smiling laughing, making new friends, and most importantly, learning the craft. he has come a long way, and all the coaches have helped him perfect his craft, and honestly, the best decision i made was coming to rga east the coaches are amazing the atmosphere is incredible proper little community. thank you to all the coaches here. I have trained at several clubs but Roger Gracie East Bristol is by far the best! The coaching is high-level but still easy for beginners to understand. There is a genuine community and togetherness between the members, creating a friendly environment for all whether it’s young children, teens or adults. Personally I attend the classes held by Rhys and Yalcin who are both awesome. The lads also teach my children aged 9 and 11 too. With the academy being full time, there are classes throughout the day to suit everyone’s routine. I could not recommend the club, or praise the coaches highly enough.
Posted 2 years agoIt is a great place to start learning jiu-jitsu with one of the best coaches. You can improve your skills, fix mobility, make better cardio, and learn how to use jiu-jitsu to defend yourself. Don't miss that opportunity, do not be selfish; your body will thank you!

It doesn’t matter if you have done jiu jitsu before or a complete novice, Roger Gracie accommodates for all! I train at Roger Gracie with my daughter, we both love coming here, sharing our jiu jitsu journey together and becoming better people in the process! I would highly recommend this to everyone!

It doesn’t matter if you’re a hobbyist, a die hard competitor or just enjoy learning something new & pushing yourself to develop, this is a club for you! All ages, all genders, all people are welcome in a safe, shared space that aims for your enjoyment through your efforts. Can’t recommend highly enough!
