I've had a really good experience training there. I felt welcomed and could appreciate just how good the group is. People are enthusiastic, kind and inspiring. It's a positive atmosphere. There's care for each other. And there are loads of classes in the week so it's easy to find times to train. Gratitude to the team.
Posted 2 weeks agoI went to the Gracie Barra Bristol for the first time a week ago. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. It was comfortable learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the first time in the UK, as students were kind and supportive in teaching each other techniques. The instructors offered a variety of classes under a well-structured program and taught professional techniques that fit the students' levels. It's a great place to learn martial arts, which is why I decided to sign up for a membership.
Posted 5 months agoA fantastic family to join. Everyone is friendly and welcoming regardless of your experience. This has been a much needed space for my son to use regularly and what started as a try put has ended up with my son still loving to come 2 and a half years later The professors genuinely care and have a wealth of experience to impart on adults and juniors alike. If you are ever looking to try something new, then I could not recommend Gracie Barra Bristol enough!!!!!
Posted 5 months agoMy son started training nearly 3 years ago and absolutely loves it, so much that i started training myself (an older plus size mum!!) I feel very comfortable and safe with the team here and with the others that train here. There is a massive focus on safety and inclusiveness, especially for women. I enjoy that people come here to learn and get better but are not overly aggressive which I think would put me off! (don’t get me wrong we’re doing a very physical martial art and I think competitiveness is normal 🤣 just not to the point where we are disrespectful to our training partners!) I like that there was never any kind of pushy sales behaviour and the option to come and try a number of classes and borrow a Gi whilst I/we made our minds up was very kind. Especially with children you never know how you feel about something until you have done it a couple of times. Ultimately if you want to come and try it out or train somewhere with no egos or expectations then I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Posted 5 months agoWe've joined Gracie Barra Bristol in 2019, when my son was 5. There is a sense of community there and everyone feels welcomed. Its great place for children to begin sports activities and gain some self-confidence.
