My son is very happy and excited in learning BJJ in here. The coaches are very friendly and patient in training the children.
Amazing lessons always learned at Gracie Barra Bristol. Started training in 2016 and welcomed back with many familiar faces. Feels like home. The energy here is great and Geeza is an amazing teacher.
Great atmosphere, very welcoming. Beginner friendly graduated fundamentals session. Would highly reccomend
Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, safe and kids love and can make friendship
My boys really love it here.
Posted 2 months agoMy twin boys absolutely love Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Bristol, and I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. What stands out is how welcoming and supportive the coaches are. They allow children to attend classes at their own pace until they feel comfortable and ready to join in fully, with no pressure at all. The lessons go far beyond martial arts. The team teaches important life values such as respect, integrity, discipline, resilience, and the importance of community. They help children understand that nobody is perfect and that making mistakes is a normal and valuable part of learning and growing. The positive impact it has had on my boys' confidence and mindset has been incredible to see. A fantastic club with amazing instructors who genuinely care about the children and their development. ❤️
Our Sons age 5 and 6 have recently joined. They were both very shy and one refused to participate. The Mester and coaches were so warm and so patient, easing both boys in their own time. They really encouraged without pressure or judgement for them standing on the sidelines. The other students were also so kind, going lighter on them when paired up, recognising they were nervous. Both sons are now confidently going.
Highly recommend Gracie Barra! A great place to train bjj - everyone is very friendly and welcoming. High level of knowledge and expertise. Weekday session consists of a warm up, followed by a fundamentals and an advanced class. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are mixed classes and also a lot of fun. Be prepared to have a good rough and tumble! In my opinion, the best way to spend your evening after work!
Fantastic Jiu Jitsu centre for my 6 year old. Geeza and all the staff are great. Would highly recommend if your looking to get your kid into fitness and self defense.
I've had a really good experience training there. I felt welcomed and could appreciate just how good the group is. People are enthusiastic, kind and inspiring. It's a positive atmosphere. There's care for each other. And there are loads of classes in the week so it's easy to find times to train. Gratitude to the team.
Posted 2 years agoWe've joined Gracie Barra Bristol in 2019, when my son was 5. There is a sense of community there and everyone feels welcomed. Its great place for children to begin sports activities and gain some self-confidence.
Posted 2 years agoI went to the Gracie Barra Bristol for the first time a week ago. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. It was comfortable learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the first time in the UK, as students were kind and supportive in teaching each other techniques. The instructors offered a variety of classes under a well-structured program and taught professional techniques that fit the students' levels. It's a great place to learn martial arts, which is why I decided to sign up for a membership.
Posted 2 years agoMy son started training nearly 3 years ago and absolutely loves it, so much that i started training myself (an older plus size mum!!) I feel very comfortable and safe with the team here and with the others that train here. There is a massive focus on safety and inclusiveness, especially for women. I enjoy that people come here to learn and get better but are not overly aggressive which I think would put me off! (don’t get me wrong we’re doing a very physical martial art and I think competitiveness is normal 🤣 just not to the point where we are disrespectful to our training partners!) I like that there was never any kind of pushy sales behaviour and the option to come and try a number of classes and borrow a Gi whilst I/we made our minds up was very kind. Especially with children you never know how you feel about something until you have done it a couple of times. Ultimately if you want to come and try it out or train somewhere with no egos or expectations then I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Posted 2 years agoA fantastic family to join. Everyone is friendly and welcoming regardless of your experience. This has been a much needed space for my son to use regularly and what started as a try put has ended up with my son still loving to come 2 and a half years later The professors genuinely care and have a wealth of experience to impart on adults and juniors alike. If you are ever looking to try something new, then I could not recommend Gracie Barra Bristol enough!!!!!
