My grandson Knox started this karate at his school with Master Pierson and when they didn’t continue at his school he joined the location on Ford Avenue. He has been attending classes since white belt and now he is on his way to green belt and loves going four times a week instead of the original one day when he was at school. Every instructor is going beyond their duties to help all the students achieve success. We are grateful for the discipline and dedication from this karate family

I love the discipline and confidence that my child has now. The instructors are very patient and encouraging. The pricing is great for the number of classes you receive. I highly recommend Richmond Hill karate for your kids to learn self-defense in a safe environment.

We had a mixed experience with RH Karate for our preschooler. Our instructor Ms Morgan and her assistants were great with the children. Our issue was mostly with how the contract is set up and enforced, as well as the class sizes/dynamic. The only way to enroll is to sign a five month contract. When you’re dealing with small children, I find this unfair. After the initial intro class, my four year old wanted to continue going, but after two months, she was no longer interested and was obviously struggling with paying attention, staying engaged, and listening in class. From our perspective, it felt slightly chaotic with two separate classes going on in the same small room at the same time, multiple new children doing trial classes, and quite large overall class sizes. It seemed difficult for the (excellent) instructors to give everyone the attention they needed. I believe this lead to overstimulation for some of the children, mine included. It was making our whole family miserable to continue taking our child somewhere she didn’t want to be, and it was not setting her up for success. Unfortunately, four year olds couldn’t care less that their parents have signed a contract, so we’ve been paying $150 monthly for nothing until our contract runs out. We brought our concerns to the owner and they blamed it on the billing company and said it was out of their control. Based on other reviews, I’m sure this school is great for older children and adults, but holding little kids to a contract is just ridiculous to me.

This place is awesome. Mr. Pierson is the best teacher. He is so patient and understanding when teaching the kids. My son is on his third belt in 6 months. He has learned so much about self defense. Richmond Hill karate will not disappoint you. Love this place and all the instructors!

My little ninja enjoys the instruction from Master Daniel, Master David, and Master Clay- he's learned enough to want to continue on through his black belt. I absolutely recommend this for anyone with serious interest in martial arts. Ask Master Clay about pressure points while you're there, you won't be disappointed!
