I had zero experience with Martial Arts before joining Radius Martial Arts Academy, and I’ll admit I was a bit nervous stepping into the gym. But from the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by everyone. It felt more like joining a group of friends than meeting a bunch of strangers. The instructors were incredibly supportive and skilled at helping me get started, making each session enjoyable and rewarding. Radius is an amazing place for anyone curious about learning new skills and having a blast while doing it. Thank you, Radius, for making me feel like part of your family and for offering such a fantastic environment to grow and learn.
I’m basically Jon Jones now
Awesome school and an affiliate Too Kore martial arts . Great Instructors great Teammates too train with just an overall Great Environment. Can’t wait too come back down and train . Highly recommend.
Radius Martial Arts Gym offers a welcoming and supportive community, with instructors who are skilled and dedicated. Radius offers flexible class times so it's easy to find a session that fits your schedule. No matter your skill level, Radius Gym is the perfect place to train.
This gym has been life altering. The coaches CARE about you and have tons of knowledge to pass on. The training partners here will push you to elevate yourself and are friendly people. I love it. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Couldn't ask for a better place to train. Instructors are all very knowledgeable and deeply committed to helping their students get better. The people are all welcoming and great at supporting newcomers. As a working professional, night classes during the week and early classes on the weekend fit into my schedule perfectly.
For the past three weeks, I have been attending Radius, and it has proven to be the best decision. As someone new to any form of combat activity, I initially felt hesitant, but from my first conversation with Travis on the phone to meeting everyone in person, I felt welcomed. My confidence has skyrocketed. It's a fantastic place with even better people.
My son started jujitsu and mauy thai earlier this year. From the beginning, he has had a phenomenal experience. The welcoming, family friendly environment was not only felt from the start but continues to be evident week after week with the support in and out of the gym. The highly qualified and friendly instructors teach techniques thoroughly, while also instilling respect and confidence! In addition to the instructors, more advanced members take the time to teach Ryan when rolling. They’re not just going through the motions, they’re trying to better each other. Ryan has recently started to compete, winning and learning along the way. What sets Radius apart is the outpouring support from fellow members before, during and after the competitions. We can’t thank Travis enough for having such an amazing gym where Ryan can develop physically and mentally in a safe and structured manner!
Radius Martial Arts offers an outstanding training experience for both Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. The team environment is exceptional, fostering a supportive and motivating atmosphere that encourages growth. With expert instructors and a variety of class options, Radius Martial Arts is the perfect place to refine your skills and become part of a welcoming community. Highly recommended for anyone looking to excel in martial arts whether you are a beginner or advanced.
My son loves training here, I feel safe with the stuff, they are professional and experienced.
Radius is the perfect gym for jiu jitsu and muay thai training. It’s a clean, well managed gym with high level instructors for all disciplines (including 10P no-gi). There are more high-rank training partners here than any of the various gyms I went to in NYC. Most importantly the Radius team is a family that will help you towards your goal, whether it’s competing or just training.
I have been going to radius, about 1 year now, everyone there are great, always a fun time with lots of laughs and always learning something new, great coach’s all around,
Great place for kids just beginning the jiu-jitsu and muay thai disciplines. Instructors are patient, knowledgeable but also disciplined with the work. It has helped my son with strength, balance and self confidence. Highly recommend.
I have been training at Radius for a few months and have had great experiences. Being a young female, I have always felt safe, respected, and welcomed during every class. There is a great sense of community, and the instructors are incredibly talented. I cannot believe how much progress I have made in a short amount of time because of their classes. I cannot recommend Radius enough!
I can't say enough positive things about Radius. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the community. What I found is that this is a community consisting of all different ages and backgrounds. You can be the person who wants to be a competitor to someone who is trying to get active and out of the house from the spouse and kids. This is not just a place to learn Jiu-Jitsu; it's a place to have fun. Travis (Owner) and the rest of the coaches have created an environment where you can be serious about learning martial arts while also laughing and enjoying yourself. In the year since I started, I've learned so much and loved every minute of it. I only wish I had found this place and started attending sooner. The schedule is fantastic, with training always going on daily, and all the coaches are dedicated to student safety, especially for newcomers. I really appreciate how every coach has their own unique style, approach, and, of course, sense of humor. You will never be bored; that I can promise you. Attending different classes will definitely expand your reach in terms of learning new techniques. If you're even remotely interested in Jiu-Jitsu or Muay Thai and not sure how to start or if you're on the fence, I highly recommend stopping by Radius. It's been an incredible experience, and I'm grateful to have found such a welcoming and supportive community.
Good people, great training
Knowledgeable staff, welcoming environment, clean facility. Great for beginners & experienced martial artist. Would recommend for all ages & experience levels.
Excellent business and my kids absolutely loved it. Lisa and Travis are the best!
I have been a pro athlete and world champ in several demanding sports (Ironman, ultra marathons) and around sports my whole life (D1 soccer) and the workouts and experiences I had here were second to none. In a world that lacks community, connection, and comradely this place offers all of that. Come for the insane workout that changes your body; come back again and again bc of the people you will meet and the experiences you will have that will change who you are.
Great experience, highly recommend!
Travis runs an awesome gym. Definitely check out Kurt’s nogi class
Awesome coaches and environment! Highly recommend
They are the best!
Absolutely best school ever. Started my journey here and since leaving CT, I have missed it ever since. I absolutely recommend. Would give it a higher rating if I could
My favorite place to train when I’m in Fairfield county , amazing instructors who are very welcoming. Would recommend to anyone in the area
I've visited a few times and it's always been great.
I’ve know Travis for the better part of a decade now and I have to say as an academy owner myself, visiting Radius Martial Arts and experiencing Travis's vision firsthand was an honor and a privilege. Seeing someone I regularly connect with on multiple levels and witness at local competitions and events channel so much dedication into their community is truly inspiring. When I first visited Radius, from the moment I stepped in, it was clear that Travis's heart and vision have deeply influenced every aspect of their academy. The atmosphere is charged with respect, camaraderie, and a shared eagerness to grow—not just as martial artists but as individuals. This is a reflection of Travis's leadership and the positive environment he's fostered. Training at Radius, even just for one session, offered me valuable insights. The level of instruction is top-notch, with a clear focus on not only honing technique but also building character and community. It's evident that Travis and his team are committed to providing a holistic experience, which aligns with the true essence of martial arts. The facilities at Radius are exemplary, designed with the practitioner's journey in mind, but it's the intangible elements— the warmth, the welcoming nature, and the sense of belonging—that truly stand out. Travis has created more than just an academy; he's nurtured a thriving martial arts family. I left Radius that day feeling enriched and motivated, with new ideas and a renewed sense of purpose that would eventually go on to inspire elements of my own academy. It's a testament to Travis's hard work and the genuine, inclusive community he's built. I would recommend Radius Martial Arts to anyone in the area looking for a place to learn, grow, and connect. Hats off to Travis and his team for setting such a high standard for what a martial arts community can be.
Great environment and instructors. Definitely recommend for all levels.
This is an amazing training facility. Owners are incredible very supportive. Wish I lived closer! Would recommend anybody looking for a challenging and supportive environment to learn martial arts.
10/10
I trained at Radius when I resided in Connecticut. It was always a great atmosphere and remains an academy that I'll recommend to others who are interested in trying jiu jitsu! It is a collective of very talented athletes sharing their passion for martial arts!
Great martial arts school. Very professional, great techniques and welcoming to all new students. Owner and instructors lead by example and are good role models.
Two words, LIFE CHANGING.
I had a great time at Radius, the people were cool and extremely nice! The classes are very well organized and fun, and you learn a lot really quickly. Overall an amazing place. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try out Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai!
Great gym with knowledgable coaches, welcoming culture and many high level competitors. Whether you are a beginner or a competitive grappler, the large number of colored belts and diverse BJJ styles at Radius will tremendously expedite anyone's skillset development. I highly recommend training at Radius Martial Arts in Fairfield, CT!
Great place
Started coming here a few weeks ago and love it!! As a female, the vibes are super welcoming and friendly. Love the off-beat humor during class and good music to roll to. They provide clear instructions and give plenty of time for questions. Excited to start coming here all the time for Muay Thai and BJJ (they offer both Gi and no Gi classes).
Travis and his coaches are world-class. I would watch jujitsu videos on YouTube for years wanting to try it so bad however I lacked the confidence to go and do it. As I approached 40 years old I finally had the courage to try. I was extremely nervous for my first class and within 10 minutes I knew I was in the right place. It is life-changing, confidence building and the best work out you will have. The biggest thing that keeps me engaged and wanting to come back is the community that Travis has built there. I recommend it for anybody of all ages male/female. Rob
If you're looking for a martial arts gym that offers both jui jitsu and muay thai classes, look no further than Radius Martial Arts. They offer classes for all levels and ages. Instructors are great and make you feel welcome. We’ve been going for almost two years and cannot be happier with progress. We highly recommend Radius!
A friendly, helpfull ,Great group of people to train with.
Joined Radius10p about 2 weeks ago and have had nothing but positive experiences each time I train. The coaches and members are extremely helpful and friendly especially for a beginner. It’s a judgement free environment that encourages learning and growth. Really great and friendly people coaching and training here, my only regret is not starting sooner. Excited to keep learning.
Radius is awesome! I come to Muay Thai classes here whenever I am in Fairfield and it never disappoints. The quality of the instruction is top notch and the facility is always very clean. I would recommend it to anyone from beginners to long time practitioners. I learn something new every time I come. It’s a perfect mix of people who take the sport seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
Radius Martial Arts Academy is truly the place to be! When I began taking the weekly classes about a year ago I was nervous having never done much martial arts. But with the help of their experienced and professional coaching staff I found myself eager to return again and again. Radius has not only become a great place for me to stay in shape but it has also become a home away from home! -Rod.P
From the moment I stepped into the gym I felt welcomed. I was greeted with a smile and was encouraged to go at the pace that I desired. All the students are very kind and always willing to help. I found the instructors to be really great, caring, funny, and good people. My experience have been 2 thumbs up and I'm happy I found this place. If you can wake up early on a Sunday, stop by Davids kick boxing class at 9 am! P.S Don't forget to pick up one of their cool stickers!
If you have ever considered trying jiu jitsu, go here. The instructors are great and the other athletes are patient. I was terrified trying both their Muy Thai and jiu jitsu classes and am so glad I finally did it. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging. I’m in the worst shape of my life, post partum with social anxiety and look forward to coming to this class since day one every week. Honestly if I can do it anyone can. Thank you Radius and everyone there for just being awesome!
I’ve just started coming and I love it. Instructors are friendly, very clear on instructions, and guide you step by step. It became addicting coming in for class to learn. I will definitely be staying at Radius Martial Arts for awhile, I want to learn and master as much as possible and start competing. Radius Martial Arts is where I put my trust to bring out the best in me.
I've been training at Radius around 4 years now, I'm convinced learning a martial art is the best decision anyone can make. Radius offers exceptional instruction for all skill levels, an incredible Muay Thai program, clean facilities, and some of the kindest and most talented training partners in the area. Joining Radius is joining an environment that is designed to foster personal development, humility, and a sense of community that is hard to find anywhere else.
Hella good gym, love the squad, amazing teachers, great environments
Best jiu-jitsu gym I could ask for, I have been training for about 6 months now and I can say the atmosphere is great, everyone is really nice and willing to help you improve. The instructors and everyone else are really helpful and friendly.
I was looking for a place to train after years of inactivity. I've learned so much already. Radius has great instructors and a great community.
I’ve been taking classes at Radius for about a month, and I wanted to write a review for other people just getting started. I consider myself lucky to have landed here. I’m brand new to Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Plus, I’m of the female persuasion. I was worried about finding a place where I could take classes- worried that I wouldn’t be considered capable or welcome. But Radius just isn’t like that. First of all, they’re all very good at what they do, which is absolutely awesome. I went to watch a bunch of them compete in my first week there and it was crazy impressive (and fun to be cheering for a team that did so well). Still, when what everyone is good at is fighting, it can seem really intimidating. But no one is scary. Or, more crucially, no one is trying to scare you. There’s not a lot of ego-driven performative badassery. People genuinely want to help you learn and get better, even when you are (like me sometimes) obviously struggling. Now this part may not be important to everyone, but it was important to me- there will be other women in your classes. It’s not any kind of an anomaly. There isn’t any pressure or punishment if you aren’t “one of the boys.” I put that down to the culture, which is quite serious about training but otherwise very chill. There’s not an instructor there who I don’t have something great to say about them. And while I’ve only been there a month, that’s true of the students I know as well. The only word of caution I’d give is: do not forget to bring water.
Best gym around
Just had my first class and the staff/students could not have been more helpful and welcoming
Meaning to make this post. If your looking for a first time experience into combat sports, I highly recommend Radius. If your looking to improve your skill set, I also recommend Radius. I know many may think my opinion is bias as most individuals would say their facility is the best. Not the case. Coaches at Radius are super knowledgeable and work with each individual to perfect his or her technique. Super welcoming atmosphere overall.
Just started jiu jitsu a month ago and it is awesome. I recommend Radius MMA to everyone.
I been going on and off since 2018. Started off just doing Muay Thai. Now I’m doing Bjj and Muay Thai and I love it. Great place to train
I’ve been to a couple of combat sport gyms in Connecticut and Radius has to be the BEST one hands down. When I first started I was amazed at how every coach from Tom teaching Muay Thai to Travis,Steve or Kurt teaching jiu jitsu had impeccable attention to detail in showing the techniques in class. This backed by the positive environment in every class they teach Really separates this gym from others. I’ve been here for a almost two years and since day one have felt like I’ve found not only an elite gym but also a second family.
I've been going to Radius on and off for about two years now. It was really scary going to the first class as I have no other combat sport experience, but I felt instantly at home. The atmosphere is relaxed, but everyone is very serious about helping you improve your skills, and the instruction is great. Jiu jitsu has really become a big part of my life now, I think it will be for a long time, and I really only have Radius to thank for that. I've never had a bad experience at Radius, only challenging ones. If you're looking for a first combat sports experience, I couldn't recommend Radius more highly.
My son wanted to start MMA training, primarily with Muay Thai, with no previous training. He was completely and unconditionally welcomed as part of the adult training programs for both Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. The leadership at radius has created a family type atmosphere where all are made to feel comfortable and can learn MMA skills at any level. My son thoroughly enjoys going to Radius and cannot get enough. Travis is very understanding of everyone’s situation and accommodates accordingly.
Radius is an awesome gym to begin or continue learning martial arts. All the students really make it a friendly environment and Travis and Steve are great instructors who really care about their students. Highly recommend for new students or veterans looking to keep progressing their game.
I have been going to Radius for about 2 years. The hardest part of my Jiu Jitsu journey so far was showing up to my first class. Don't hesitate like I did. The instructors are top notch. Everyone there is super helpful and genuinely interested in helping you get the most out of the training.
My wife and I have been training at radius for about 2 months, and I can't speak highly enough about the staff and the culture/environment that they foster. Great comaraderie, especially between upper and lower belts. Travis and Steve are extremelly welcoming and caring, but they also set a high bar and genuinly want to see you succeed in your BJJ journey. If that's the type of experience you're looking for, this is the place for you.
My husband and I both train here - we expected to learn a new skill together and get in shape, and actually ended up getting to be a part of a great community. Travis, Steve, and Kurt have cultivated a unique culture that drew us to the school after scoping out several in the area. As a woman with no jiu jitsu experience, everyone I have trained with has been respectful, encouraging, and helpful in ensuring good technique from the start and pushing me to do my best. Love training here!
A great place to learn and train Brazilian jiu jitsu. A clean place with great people where people of all ages can have fun and learn.
Radius is the best bjj in Fairfield. I’ve been training in New York the past 11 years and I visited Radius in June. After one session it was easy to see that it’s top notch bjj training. From the vibe to the training sessions, the school feels like home. Travis has created an environment that attracts great training partners with high level technique. Love this place. Thanks for all the love T!
Been going there for a small period of time, but the atmosphere and culture that they provide is top notch. If you have any desire to learn Jiu Jitsu and or Muay Thai this is the place to go. Whenever this pandemic is over I am looking forward to getting back on the mats. Hopefully their doors will be open soon.
Great atmosphere! The coaches and owners are wonderful and treat everyone like family. Never been to a gym so welcoming.
I'm going into my fourth month training at Radius, and I cannot recommend the school high enough for anyone looking for BJJ or Muay Thai in Fairfield County. I've trained on and off over 10 years at schools in north Jersey and Philly before moving to the area. This is honestly the first place I can say really cares about all the members, regardless of what level of experience they're at. Whether you are someone who has trained their whole life or someone who has never rolled a day in your life, give this place a chance. Travis, Steve and Kurt all provide unique teaching philosophies and Tom is a top notch striking coach. Thank you guys for doing what you do, its a privilege to be apart of the Radius fam!
Fantastic place to train! Top quality coaches and an extremely welcoming atmosphere for new people like myself. I will be coming back!
radius is absolutely amazing. you can't find a better school to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu and muay thai. the instructors are excellent and the people there really keep the environment fun. from the white belts to the black belts, everyone comes in to train hard and as a team so whether or not you're a complete beginner or you've been training for years, radius is for you.
Have been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu for about a month and plan to stay for many more. I feel very welcomed entering Radius and have been learning with each class. Recommended for anyone who is interested in starting but might be hesitant. The instructors are talented and accommodating, even for a newcomer like myself. They have been very helpful in simplifying the moves and answering any of my questions. The fellow students are also friendly. No one is a bully, not even the more advanced students. Overall a great place to learn BJJ if new and interested in the sport.
I've been with this crew for a very long time, over 10 years collectively. Just ask Travis about the first time he met me. God, I LOVE that story. And ask Steve about our old MMA days and ground and pound drills. This is a great school to come and train. Whether your looking to compete or just want to get in shape. I can guarantee you'll go home a few pounds lighter than you came. There is a broad range of skill here so they cater to all levels. Yes, it can be very intimidating walking into a martial arts academy where they do live sparring and rolling but it is a very friendly atmosphere and the students respect everyone's skill level. No bullies here! And over time it really does feel like a family. I compete for this academy and I couldn't imagine being as successful as I am today without the instruction and guidance provided at Radius Martial Arts / 10th Planet Fairfield.(undefeated so far 🤙👍).
I've been a student at Radius for over two years now, and I am very happy with this school. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and dedicated, and always manage to keep class fun. My training at Radius has been invaluable to my BJJ journey.
I started training Jiu Jitsu at Radius about a month and a half ago. I am enjoying each class more than the last and am always looking forward to the next. I was extremely impressed when I requested more information and Travis, the owner, called me within minutes. He asked what questions I might have and offered me a free class. Travis, Steve, Kurt, and the entire Radius squad continue to impress me each day with the quality of instruction, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the integrity of their training. Would recommend to anyone!
this place is to good idek how to describe it
Great Martial Arts Academy , Awesome instructors and students everyone is very helpful. Great place to start your BJJ or muay thai journey.
Radius Martial Arts has rapidly become a second home for me during this past year of training. Stepping into those doors for the first time can be incredibly intimidating, especially if you don't have any martial arts background. If you are having those feelings, you can confidently push them aside. The instructors are equal parts welcoming, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Your fellow students will help you learn if you are just getting started or push you past your limits if you have experience. BJJ is a tremendous way to explore a vastly complex martial art, increase your fitness level, and meet interesting people. Radius Martial Arts is the second academy I've trained BJJ at. I see no reason to look for a third.
I started training with Radius for a little over a month ago and I love it ! Travis ,Steve and Kurt are great instructors ! The environment is so friendly and every class is a new experience . I felt so welcomed on my first day. Overall, Radius is a great martial arts school and everyone there is so helpful and great.
If you thinking about starting jiu jitsu or muay thai this is the place to go! They have both gi and no gi classes Great group of people really welcoming environment
Whether your looking for Self Defense, get in shape, or looking to become a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor. This is the right place to go to!
Radius is truly a special place to be apart of. Every instructor here is a wealth of knowledge who cares about the growth/safety of their students. They practice what they preach and are on the mats training as well. That sets an example for all of us: hard work, mutual growth, and leaving ones ego at the door. The students, who have in many ways become my extended family, are kind and hard working. Travis the owner/Instructor is very professional and an all around great dude. Im honored to be part of this Academy and humbled to be training with such talented, kind-spirited warriors. Those of you out there looking to become the best version of yourself, come here. You won't regret it. -Tony
I have been training at Radius for a few weeks now, and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience. I had made arrangements to stop in and talk with Travis, the owner, about the details of the available classes and membership, my main interest being Jiu Jitsu. He was very accommodating and offered me a free trial class. At 38 years old and married with two kids, I was looking for something that would be challenging and rewarding on a personal level. Something that could revitalize my self discipline and carry over into my parenting, my home life, and even my work life. The instructors here are truly remarkable. Their natural ability to teach, coupled with a depth of detail and attentiveness, make each class feel beneficial and engaging. It is clear the tactics of these teachings have had a positive effect on the group of men and women who train there, as I have felt a great deal of patience and welcoming from everyone I have met. There is also plenty of talent on the mats to challenge the more experienced individual who may be looking for a new place to train. After only a short time at Radius, I know this is just where I want to be.
DON’T LISTEN TO BARTEK’S REVIEW. I was the female that he refused to ‘spar’ with, but in actuality it wasn’t even sparring. It was a ONE MINUTE WARM-UP ROUND of body boxing, meant only to get the blood flowing and muscles warm. And he didn’t just refuse to go a round with me, he down right ordered me to go pair with the only other female in the class (with whom I’d already gone a round because- duh- obvious choice) so that he could have a ‘real’ partner and someone he could ‘really hit’. Aggression issues much? Bartek later tried to apologize to me, but his apology was something to the effect of “Sorry, but it’s just a waste of my time if I partner with a girl”. DUDE. People do warm-up rounds with THE AIR. It’s called SHADOW BOXING. And you can’t go a one minute round with a woman?!? LAAAME. Major credit due to Travis, the owner of Radius, who reached out to me by phone a day later to apologize on Bartek’s behalf. He assured me Bartek’s attitude is not one they would ever support and told me he would speak with Bartek about his conduct, which he did. Everyone at Radius- including but certainly not limited to über-talented Muay Thai instructors Tom, Josh and Travis- has been so amazing to me since I walked in there off the street 3 months ago, a small-framed, 40-ish mom of 3 who hadn’t exercised but once or twice in an entire decade and couldn’t do a single sit-up. Despite all of this, I’ve never felt judged by anyone there and each instructor has consistently taken their time to give newbies like me the attention required to get going in this sport. Even the biggest, ‘scariest’ dudes in there have always been kind, respectful and willing to do a round with me because the atmosphere there is one of team-building. As evidenced quite clearly in the case of Bartek, those for whom respect and sportsmanship are a challenge find their own way to the door sooner or later. See-ya! I’ll be at Radius training to be the best 40-year-old-mom-of-3 Muay Thai ‘fighter’ I can be. Where will you be?
I wanted to return to jiu-jitsu after an 8 year lay off and had no clue where to train. I looked up radius and left an email to inquire. Travis(owner) shot me a text and welcomed me to come whenever and try a free class. I went in March and it was awesome. Everyone welcomed me and were very respectful to the fact I hadn’t rolled in some time. After the class I told Travis I probably couldn’t sign up until the summer bc we were in the middle of moving. He was super cool and said come whenever, no rush. I ended up signing up fully in August for jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai and couldn’t be happier. The instructors are very knowledgeable(all jiu-jitsu classes are taught by at least one if not two blackbelts!!) and the Thai class has two incredible, detail oriented, guys coaching as well. I loved the school so much I signed my son up and he feel in love and goes 4x a week!! If you’re thinking about trying it out, come by and enjoy!! Ps. If you’ve been doing jiu jitsu a while come in because the class is so diverse in belt rankings making it an awesome place to learn! No egos just good rolls!
This school is welcoming and made me feel comfortable. The atmosphere is social. The instruction during class is a balance of fun, and seriousness. I really appreciate that the professors care about the students, and make efforts to ensure that the students understand the Jiu Jitsu. There are some great guys to roll with who left me dripping with sweat! I recommend training here 100% - from a grateful blue belt
I began my BJJ journey 6 months ago from today. Despite having no prior MMA or wrestling experience, the instructors at this gym have shaped me into a warrior. Every class is a new experience. It begins with a technical session that leads you through a set of small moves to create one large strategy, with every step broken into digestible bites. Classes aren’t too big and you’ll constantly receive the one on one attention you need to succeed. Your fellow classmates are pretty chill and easy going but provide the knowledge and strength to push you past your limits. Whether you’re looking for a fun environment to lose weight, trying a new hobby or you’re trying to seriously compete, you’ll find all those things and more at this gym. The Muy Thai classes are pretty awesome too.
Something here for the whole family, but the kids classes are one of the best deals in Fairfield. No expensive monthly belt promotions, just knowledgeable and friendly teachers creating a fun environment. My daughter loves the karate/Jiu-Jitsu classes. She’s learning self defense and gaining confidence. The newest addition is the kids Muay Thai class, which my son started taking. Tom is such a positive, energetic teacher and I doubt you could find anyone more knowledgeable about the history and practice of Muay Thai. If you’re looking for a martial arts program for kids, this is the place, but don’t let the kids have all the fun. My husband started taking the adult Jiu-Jitsu classes a year ago, and about 4 months in I decided to give Radius a try. I’ve always exercised in some form, but I had put on weight after having kids that never seemed to go away. I was in an exercise rut. I started with the conditioning classes. Short cardio classes, with different exercises every week. It was easy to fit into my schedule. A few months after that I tried a Jiu-Jitsu class and I was hooked. I never thought I would be in great shape again, never thought I would love exercise, but here I am. I’ve lost a lot of weight, gained a lot of muscle, which is all great, but I’m also really having fun and learning a lot.
Great ju jujitsu and muay thai gym. Instructors are awesome and truly want to you improve your skills. I feel like my skills and overall game improve every time i train here and look forward to what i will accomplish in the future!
Radius is great gym filled with great people. Professional and engaging instructors share their knowledge of Jiu Jitsu, nogi grappling and Muay Thai with one of the best groups of students I have trained with. I spent years travelling the world training with the best in Asia, Latin America and Europe. Having settled in this area, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call Radius my gym and the Radius family, my family.
I gave this martial arts academy a try because I wanted an activity I can finally stick with to reach my weight loss goal & I could just tell I would love coming to such a great fun environment. The instructors are awesome here. So shout out to you all : Travis, Steve, Kurt , Josh & Tom. Big Thank You for taking me in and guiding me since I step through the door. Can't wait to keep learning more.
I’ve been going to Radius for about 4 months now. The quality of instruction and sense of community is something that brings me back and can’t be replicated easily. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you’re interested in BJJ, Muy Thai, MMA or if you’re just trying to figure out something new and exciting to do. No egos here, just drilling and rolling.
Radius Martial Arts is the place to be if you want to learn the art of jiu jitsu. Travis, Kurt, and Steve are highly experienced and provide a fun and friendly environment to learn. The second I walked in the door to start training here a couple of months ago, I was treated like family and felt welcomed right away. There is a team like environment where every member is there to improve and make each other better. I would highly recommend Radius to anyone.
Since my first 10th Planet class in 2016, Radius Martial Arts Academy has been the most welcoming, kind hearted group of guys ‘n gals to train with. After staying consistent for the past 6 months, Travis encouraged me to compete and I now have the confidence to continue. Learning from Steve and Kurt has been invaluable. Whether you have kids or looking to start a new chapter for yourself in martial arts, yoga or just looking to improve your nogi, gi, wrestling or Muay Thai, come by and say hi!
Travis and Steve have taught me so much in the 9 months that I trained at Radius. They provide a friendly atmosphere that makes learning a tough sport, fun and easy going. Thank you guys for everything
I have been training BJJ and Muay Thai at Radius for about a year and from day one have had a great experience. The instructors are all knowledgeable and do an excellent job of helping you to reach your goals whether it be to compete or not. In addition to the instructors, everyone at the school is friendly and positive. Overall, I have and would recommend Radius to anyone looking for a martial arts school.
This is a first class jui jitsu gym, great people and instructors, with very detailed instruction. No one beats you up too bad ;), and all the other student are very cool and helpful.
I started training at Radius almost a year ago. I tried a few different places for Muay Thai but wasn't happy with my options. Then I found Radius. I was immediately impressed with the professionalism, the quality of instruction, and the sense of community. I started training BJJ and have been addicted since. Radius is such a welcoming place and it's one of the best workouts I've ever had. Plus it's a ton of fun. Come train!
I recently started training at Radius and I must say that everyone has been extremely welcoming and helpful. When I made the decision that I wanted to learn BJJ for self defense and to get fit I began trying out different schools. After speaking with the owner Travis and trying a class here the decision was easy. The instructors are very knowledgeable, no long term contracts or expensive start up fees. It's a perfect place for a beginner like me or an advance person looking for a new school to advance their skills. I highly recommend Radius Martial Arts Academy!
Excellent instruction and a welcoming environment! Gi, no gi, Muay Thai, mma, day or night classes Radius has the perfect schedule to fit everyone's bjj needs.
Learning to kick and punch and roll had me vibin 🫨. It was wild to learn all that technique. Great experience. I'm finna dock one star cause sometimes there's some sort of stank in this place 👃. Somebody or something could use a good wash down 🧼
