I moved into town about a month ago, checked out a couple places and as soon as I set foot in Pride Jiu-Jitsu I knew this was my place. I have been training for close to 10 years and have trained many places, with that being said this gym has the whole package. Top notch instructors, friendly training partners, and a clean, beautiful facility.

As a parent, you hope your kids find something they're passionate about... it didn't take long for my boys to feel right at home here, even as complete beginners. The Coaches have been amazing, as have the other students! The environment is so encouraging and uplifting while learning displine and confidence! It is the perfect balance of fun and learning. I truly can't say enough good things about it! If you're looking for a place for your kids to feel welcome while learning amazing skills, Pride is the place for you!

Coming in as an "older" man with zero jiu-jitsu experience was awkward, to say the least. A couple of months into this journey and am thoroughly impressed with the talent, professionalism, and leadership of the coaches and staff. As well, I have met some of the most authentic, genuine, and skilled people at Pride Jiu-Jitsu. Started bringing my son so he could learn from these humble elite! The culture at Pride Jiu-Jitsu reminds me of the Miyamoto Musashi quote. “It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.”

I wanted to do an update on this review after about 9 months of training here. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. To start i have lost about 30lbs and am actually in better shape than when I was an active duty Marine. Coach Tony (owner) is doing all the right things at Pride. There are a lot of toxic academies out there that are more focused on running a business and trapping you in long term contracts than developing practitioners. I can tell you Pride BJJ is not that place. Tony really makes his student’s development the main priority. He’s always willing to spend extra time with you as well as the rest of the colored belts. It can be intimidating coming in for the first time, but what I’ll tell you is if you come to Pride you will find an entire team of people who’s collective goal is to make each other better at this art form. We all know what it’s like to be a beginner. I genuinely hope to see you on the mats.

We love the staff at Pride Jiu-Jitsu. The coaches here are second to none. The amount of time and care spent with each student allows them to catch on quickly and hone important skills. Our daughter has truly come into her own with the help of this academy.

Pride offers programs for kids and adults. The coaching staff is professional and great with the kids classes. The adult classes are awesome as well. Pride also works well with other gyms in the area and offers guest instructors and seminars on a frequent basis. Come to learn Jiujitsu stay for the atmosphere. Did I mention the offer boxing as well.

Pride jiu jitsu has been fantastic for both my kids Patton and Jackson . Coach Tony is very patient with the kids and takes time to explain in detail the different techniques used in jiu jitsu. Coach Tony installs discipline in the kids as well. I recommend Pride jiu jitsu for any parent wanting to get their child/children in a active, competitive yet fun sport.

Pride Jiu Jitsu is a great place to train! Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. The classes are always a good size. Tony does a great job at teaching, going around to observe, and helping students when needed. One of my favorite things about Pride Jiu Jitsu is that they have the Adopt A Cop program that allows active duty police officers to train for free until they get their blue belt! There is no other gym in the Rockford area that has this program so if anyone knows a LEO send them over to Pride to help them learn how to better defend themselves and keep the situation as safe as possible.
