Awesome and inviting staff, and a wonderful intro level BBJ class for kids. My son looks forward to class every week and never wants to leave.
Posted 2 years agoThe atmosphere at Practical MMA is great. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and the instructors are amazing. I have been training here for about 4 years now under Chris's instruction. I would recommend this gym to anyone that asks!
Great place to build discipline and skill for youth and adults! Very experienced teachers and a great vibe! We've been going for many years and we're still going! We've met a lot of wonderful people there 😁😁😁
It was my grandson's 2nd class. He loved it. The other students were very helpful in getting him up to speed with the class.
I just started not long ago, prices are very affordable and you start with pretty much all the gear. The people who go to the gym are all very respectful and helpful. Overall just a great place to be and you feel like family. Highly recommend for anyone who can.
Practical is an awesome environment for learning bjj and kickboxing. My brother and I joined a few months ago and feel like a part of the family when we walk through the doors. Great for learning self defense or if you're planning on competing in mma tournaments.
Great gym, but better, great folks! I am extremely grateful to have found Practical MMA. Priceless!
Quality martial arts training for all ages, by some of the best in the business. I trained there and now i get the joy of watching my son train there as well.
My son and I joined Practical MMA almost a year ago and it's one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. First, when we joined we didn't just join "a combat sports gym", we joined the P-MMA team. Your team mates honestly care about your development and well-being on and off the mat. Second, the training is very professional and your own level of effort determines your progress and advancement in terms of physical fitness, discipline,.and knowledge. For me, wanting to improve my kickboxing and BJJ games resulted in a lifestyle change. The instructors - Coach Chris, Sifu Tom, and Coach Kevin - are experienced and knowledgeable and work on aspects of your game that work for you. There is not a cookie cutter approach to your training. The upper belts and senior students also emulate the team concept as often the best feedback comes realtime from your peers / friends. If you're not willing to work hard and be safe, don't come as this isn't the place for you. By far the best part of P-MMA is atmosphere. This isn't the corporate gym. The price point for the exceptional value (family plans are available) and better training than other local BJJ / MMA 'Robo McDojo's' is exceptional. You will have fun 'talking smack' and then you will either find yourself nearly puking depending on your Level of effort, refining your personal mental approach to self defense, or making micro-adjustments to particular techniques. By far having a lot of fun with great people while rightfully earning gradings at a fair price point is what differentiates 'our academy' from everywhere else. My son and I love this place. If you're looking for a genuine dojo, at a fair price point, to have fun while putting in the work, the only thing you'll regret is not having started sooner. There is no requisite level of fitness required, just train baby.
Took my son for a week free trial. He absolutely loved it. Teachers are great with the kids, everyone was super friendly. Signing my son to become a student tonight. I would highly recommend!!
This gym is perfect. They have a lot of space, great equipment, and great instructors. The gym is always very clean. The instructors show patience with students and they’re very knowledge in many disciplines.
Our 9 year old attends Jiu Jitsu and he has lot of fun. The staff are friendly, helpful and great with the kids. They are excellent at teaching the boys and girls. The adult classes look fun as well. Everyone is nice there.
This gym is more like a family. Everyone is welcome and kind to all skill levels. Extremely knowledgeable and professional, best gym around Baltimore! I drive to and from there 45 minutes every day instead of any closer to me. Absolutely worth it! Great for women too
Great gym excellent instructors can't ask for a better gym
UPDATE: My son is going to be 13 and is still at this dojo! He's loving his results and now has his cousins there with him! Best martial arts gym I've found! My 11 year old is loving it! Already gaining confidence and friends! Such a great workout to burn off energy and get in shape. The instructors are calm and patient and work very well with children. I highly recommend this place for all ages!
Practical MMA covers a wide range of martial arts and the instructors focus on each individuals goals, whether that be competing fitness, or just self defense.
I've learned so much from master Tom and Chris Clark. In the past 10 plus years iv trained with pmma it so great and you get so much more just a learning out to fight its just a great place with great people just want to say thank you for all you guys did for me
Love it here great teachers and everyone works together.
The school is great i highly recomend practical mma to anyone looking to compete, defend themself, or just get into shape they have plenty if mat space and gym equipment.
Really awesome school with great instructors. I have been training for close to a year and I absolutely love it here. This school is a great place for anyone regardless of experience. The instructors work with anyone and start their students off with a great foundation. Practical MMA is a great place to learn technique and real self defense. As a woman, I feel more confident in my athletic ability and mental strength in the event of an attack. There are a bunch of different price options for any budget and I find it to be a worthwhile expense. There is even a new yoga class that is amazing. The location is spacious and located in a Pretty quiet area. I couldn't be happier training here. 💪👊😀
Real nice place. Boxing and MMA with plenty of heavy bags, cardio and weight training.
