I had my 8yo son come to Playfair as a drop-in while we were on vacation in Edinburgh. The facility was nice and the parents and instructors were very friendly and patient with my talkative kid. Unfortunately we came at a time when a lot of the other kids were on vacation, so the class was small but my son had a great time and really liked working with the instructor. Definitely a good spot if you're in town!

Been a member for a little over a year and can’t recommend Playfair Jiujitsu enough. Learning from coaches still competing at the top level in the sport has given me the ability to medal at my first couple of white belt comps. You’ll find a warm and friendly atmosphere, both accessible and challenging diverse classes to sharpen your skills in BJJ.

I have not been going to Playfair for long but love going here. I was very intimidated about joining jiu-jitsu, especially as a female but Playfair has made me feel very welcome. There is an excellent group of men and women who both work and train here. The training is wonderful and the coaches are very patient and informed. I am proud of the gym. Whenever I mention Playfair to other people in the Edinburgh bjj community, they remark on the wonderful reputation for community and training. I cannot recommend it enough.

Great place to train and learn. My kids enjoy the place. The oldest one goes and trains there, and the other one cheers up his sister (very keen to train soon though) I feel like home, great bunch of Jiujiteros and they make me improve every time I roll with them on the mat. I enjoy seeing more girls coming to the class too🔥👊🏼#oss

I'm really happy to have found this gym. Best I've trained in so far. Welcoming atmosphere. Great mat space. Good class structure. The training partners are safe and respectful. The coaches put hard work in to create a nice learning environment.
