It has been a remarkable journey for me over the past 7 years at Rick Young Black Belt Academy. I feel so grateful to have been a part of such a supportive and empowering environment. My skills in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have grown so much, and I credit that growth to the expert guidance of Professor Rick and the welcoming atmosphere of the academy. As a woman, I have felt truly valued and respected in my training journey. Professor Rick's experience and knowledge in martial arts is nothing short of exceptional, and he has a special way of making the techniques accessible to all students. The training sessions are always challenging, yet so rewarding. I have met some of my closest friends here, and the kindness and support from both instructors and students create a warm and welcoming environment. It is truly a special place, where individuals come together to support each other in their martial arts journeys. If you're looking to improve your martial arts skills and overall well-being, I cannot recommend Rick Young Black Belt Academy enough. With Professor Rick's expertise and the supportive community, it is truly a remarkable place to train.
Posted 3 years agoI have been a student at Rick Young Black Belt Academy for over 8 years now and I can confidently say that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The academy is led by Professor Rick, who has an unparalleled level of knowledge and experience in martial arts. Not only does he teach the techniques, but he also instills important values such as discipline, respect, and perseverance in his students. The training sessions are always challenging, yet rewarding and fun. What sets this academy apart, however, is the family-like atmosphere. The students and instructors are welcoming, supportive, and encourage each other to reach their full potential. I have made many friends at this academy and it truly feels like a second home. I would highly recommend Rick Young Black Belt Academy to anyone who is looking for a high-quality martial arts education and a supportive community. The knowledge and experience of Professor Rick, combined with the kindness and support of the students and instructors, make this academy truly exceptional.
Posted 3 years agoRick Young Black Belt Academy is an exceptional place with very knowledgeable and experienced coaches who provide high-level martial arts training, affiliated with the World's greatest Martial Artists. I don't live in Edinburgh but I visit the city regularly and train at Rick Young’s every time I'm there. Since my first training, I just love the academy and its environment, and I always feel welcomed by super friendly staff. It's a great privilege to be able to train there!
Posted 3 years agoI've trained in martial arts for many years, and when I moved to Edinburgh I found Rick Young's blackbelt school. It's a fantastic school, with a really great and friendly atmosphere. What makes it special is having the honour to be taught by a legend. Rick is someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about the arts. His teaching abilities are calm and knowledgeable. He is just an open friendly human being . You can not ask for more. I highly recommend this martial arts school.
Posted 3 years agoI have trained in many gyms over the years and can highly recommend the Academy. Rick demands an atmosphere of mutual respect and humility, creating an environment that is friendly and very safe. He is a great teacher, catering for all levels of ability from the complete beginner to those seeking advanced instruction. Just turn up with a smile, be respectful and ready to listen and you will quickly become part of a really positive and fun group.
