My son has been coming to PandaRoll Jiujitsu for 2 months now after a recommendation from a friend. We love it here. My son has learned and grown so much since starting. He did Taekwondo for a number of years, but didn’t care for it. He loves jujitsu. It’s completely different and a lot of fun. Coach Ken is kind and patient with the kids, and it’s clear that he loves what he does. If you’re on the fence, they offer a free trial class. The prices are reasonable with no long term contracts like TKD. My husband and I are also considering becoming students. Highly recommend!

Visiting from out of town and came across PandaRoll while looking for a spot to train. I wasn’t sure if they allowed drop-ins and Ken responded to my email very quickly confirming that they do. I showed up a few minutes early for the evening class, filled out a quick waiver, and paid the drop-in fee. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. The facility is very cozy and class size wasn’t too big. The mats seemed meticulously clean and the room was very organized. They definitely lean into the panda theme judging from the many panda plushies peeking in from the side rooms. Instruction was top notch and a different style from my home gym. There was less drilling specific moves and repetitive details over and over and more working on a concept with a partner and adjusting positions until the move breaks or isn’t effective and figuring out why. Think more dynamic training, less sparring with a static training dummy. Overall it was a great experience and I would absolutely recommend going. I picked up a PandaRoll branded rash guard from their merch wall on the way out. I will be coming back the next time I’m in town.

I visited PandaRoll a few years ago for a trial class and a seminar. Their conceptual approach really spoke to me so I joined. A couple of years later, Ken and Jenn have helped me reinvent my game. If you’re looking for a structured approach to learning Jiu Jitsu and a friendly, supportive, fun, and welcoming community, check them out.

Great place to train! I stopped by for their Saturday Open Mat and had a blast. Everyone was super welcoming. Easy to find, very clean, and great instructor. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to get some training/rounds in

I absolutely love Ken's teaching methodology. Focusing on proper technique and strong foundations was a game changer for me. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I appreciate how we are encouraged to teach and elevate each other's game. I highly recommend anybody regardless of experience level to check this place out!
This year I told myself I wanted to find a gym where I can really train/learn jiujitsu. In the past, I've tried other gyms with Groupon offers and it was just okay sweating it out with other newbies, but I always felt the level of instruction was lacking. The sport is so technical, based on concepts and principles, yet the other instructors were not teaching this to an adequate degree IMHO. I did quite a bit of research of other gyms with in a 20-25 min commute from where I live and I was thoroughly impressed with what Ken has going on at PandaRoll Jiujitsu! I fully endorse all the other reviews, the culture of learning the true fundamentals is at the core of Ken's philosophy and I feel lucky to have found him as my first jiujitsu teacher! As a side note, I'll have my son enroll in the youth program once his other activities wind down. Amazingly, Ken is just as patient with kids as he is with adults! Shoutout to Tahoe also, he's been a great training partner!
A more relaxed gym with a great culture. Ken is a seasoned instructor who cares about each student. You'd be hard pressed to find a better gym with so many positives.
The instructors run a clean, safe training environment and teach jiujitsu using a conceptual & principle-based framework. Both novice and experienced jiujitsu practitioners couldn't ask for a better training space.
Recently moved to Lynwood and couldn’t have found a better place to train at. Knowledgeable instructor and amazing training partners. Classes are neatly structured which is a plus.

I have been working with Tahoe for personal training. He has been a great help setting up a training program suitable for my age and my physical challenges. I'm only a few weeks in but I feel better knowing that I am doing something to help my health and that I am not doing any movements that could cause me harm. Tahoe is easy going and fun to work with.
This was my first experience with martial arts and I was a bit nervous to start but Ken does a really good job explaining the concepts and leads great classes. Ken and Jen always provide really good coaching and still keep things light and fun for the group! They have created a very safe, friendly, and inviting culture at the gym!
Stopped in for a free trial class and open mat: great group of guys and gals! Helpful/meticulous instructor, positive environment, and solid rolls. Really all you could ask for! (Plus, I busted open my forehead doing a silly move and they gave me a panda theme bandaid)
Pandaroll is a great place to train. The atmosphere is easy going and focuses on safe and effective learning strategies. Here are a couple of things to note. 1. Organized and effective class curriculum. You will learn the basics of all aspects of jiu jitsu without forgetting something right after you leave the class. 2. Safe and friendly training environment. As someone who hurt their ribs bad at other gyms, there is a noticeable safety culture difference. If you want to train and not get hurt, here is the place. 3. Instructor dedication. The instructors Ken and Jen are very supportive, knowledgeable and kind. They won't make you feel guilty for taking a week off, and they're great to talk outside of just a jiu jitsu setting. The students are always making jokes and having a good time. They are now adding weight lifting equipment to the gym. The location is very clean and tidy. They don't require you to wear their gear (but they do have cool merch). They're adding kids classes and they are definetely going to grow. Get in now for a free class or a saturday open matt. They're very reasonably priced and that will only go up as they grow. The website is also super easy to use to book a free class.
Panda Roll Jiu Jitsu is a great gym. The kids are learning so much in the kids class. The detail and follow up is the perfect level to keep the kids interested and moving forward with each group of techniques. I have taken adult classes under the head instructor Ken and they are always great. The new location for the gym is very clean and has tempered air which will be great for the summers and winters. I highly recommend taking your kids to class here.
I've had the pleasure of enrolling myself and my child at Panda Roll, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The environment here is top-notch—clean, professional yet low-key, friendly, and welcoming. The instructor (Ken) is absolutely fantastic for both kids and adults. Not only is he incredibly skilled, but he has a unique ability to connect with the kids in a way that makes learning both fun and engaging. Jen also deserves a callout as a super warm and professional in her capacity as an office manager. What really sets this school apart is the focus on teaching fundamental skills and concepts rather than just going through the motions or following a rigid flowchart of techniques. The instruction emphasizes understanding and adaptability, giving students a strong foundation they can build upon as they progress. If you’re comparing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to other martial arts as an activity / growth experience for your kids, I think BJJ is among the best choices, and Panda Roll is a fantastic choice. It’s clear that here the goal is to equip the kids with knowledge that will stick with them in the long run, not just for the next class. In the short time we’ve been training, I’ve seen my child develop interpersonally, improve his focus, and improve his mood. For me as an adult, I feel safe and comfortable training here, and it's great exercise. The community here is wonderful as well. There's a near even split of women and men, and everyone—from the instructors to the other families—creates a supportive and positive atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for kids to learn and grow, both on and off the mat. Highly recommended!
Amazing gym! I came to Seattle from Island Top Team (a jiu-jitsu gym in Nanaimo, BC) and had an incredible experience. The instructor, Ken, is extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, and very helpful, which was fantastic considering I’m still new to jiu-jitsu. The crew at the gym is amazing—welcoming and friendly. They prioritize a safe environment while still having fun during rolling. The skills development class is structured so that everyone has access to the instructor and can ask for assistance. You can also switch partners to enhance your experience. I was able to improve some of my techniques after just a couple of hours there by implementing tweaks Ken recommended to movements I already knew.
I joined PandaRoll after a long break from BJJ, the community here is very welcoming. Ken's approach to instruction is engaging and effective, I was able to get back up to speed quickly and look forward to every class!
Great gym culture and head instructor who is involved in each class. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a different/unique way to learn jiuijtsu that you won't find in many other schools.
What a special group of people that run PandaRoll. First, Ken's approach to grappling is far more intuitive than I have found at other schools. His methodology is easy to follow at seemingly any skill level. He knows his stuff, and yet, is humble and kind. Jen (operations) is such a kind human, and on top of her game. She is hardworking, and seems to never make a mistake. There aren't many schools like PandaRoll. If you have ever been interested in grappling, or want a welcoming environment to stay active, I can't think of a better place than PandaRoll Jujitsu. I think everyone should try it out... at least a few times!
My visit at PandaRoll JiuJitsu was nothing but awesome. I'm a purple belt from Germany, visiting the US and Canada mainly for JiuJitsu training. The atmosphere at PandaRoll was very welcoming and everyone there trains with the intend to help each other get better together. Ken is a great instructor, the classes are well structured and the teaching is on point. I will definitely come back for another visit here and can only recommend this academy to everyone in the area!
This gym has a great atmosphere where everyone is friendly and willing to coach you. Ken is really good at explaining why something does or doesnt work in addition to breaking down movements into their fundamental parts so that you aren't memorizing long lists of complicated moves, but rather understanding the concept and goal behind each move as a base to build off of.
Excellent gym! Ken has a great blend of explanation, demonstration, and practice time. All while keeping the environment fun and accessible to anyone who's interested in gaining a deeper understanding of jiu jitsu.
During my recovery from rotator cuff repair surgery I've had the pleasure of watching Ken teach and am anxiously looking forward to being able to train in the system he uses. Great concepts that result in better practitioners of the art and sport of jiu-jitsu.

I attended an open mat, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. Instructor was very helpful and I definitely enjoy the concept-based teaching he has.
I’ve been attending open mats and private lessons for a month now and I’ve loved every session! Ken has definitely boosted my fundamental skills with a focus on concepts over just drilling techniques. I’ve become a lot more confident on the mat and developing my own style nicely with this. The other students also adhere to a more conceptual based learning and it makes for a great flowing practice experience and even when you want to roll HARD, it feels very safe and physically/mentally engaging. It’s definitely unique and I love it!
Good vibes and highly technical jiu jitsu with a conceptual approach. The skill development curriculum is very effective and values accelerated learning while also being mindful of safety and community building. Highly recommended for anyone starting out or is already advanced in jiu jitsu.
A friend recommended PandaRoll Jiujitsu because of their concept based approach to teaching. I took a free trail class and they did not disappoint! Professor Ken explains everything in an easy to understand way that applies beyond any single technique. From warm-ups to live rolling, his teaching style builds confidence along the way and keeps everyone safe and having fun. The other students were super welcoming and the gym had an overall great vibe! I highly recommend taking a free class at PandaRoll if you're looking for a BJJ gym!
Using my wife’s account as I had to review this excellent gym and have no socials… Dropped in for an open mat while visiting. Very welcoming, technical, safe and friendly environment. I went in nursing a fresh knee injury and was able to get some great learning in with zero concerns someone was going to spazz out and wreck my s#!t. PandaRoll is so awesome. Their team obviously has created a unique environment from what I have experienced before. Ken wanted me to understand jiujitsu, not just replicate moves and he was very good at teaching. It’s clear that he has a lot of experience and his demeanor is approachable for everyone in the class of all ability levels, ages, etc. easy to understand and a lot of fun! Definitely as much of a challenge as you want it to be too!
I’ve attended open mat sessions here and it’s always a great experience whenever we visit. Training with Ken is always mind blowing as he teaches you the tiny details to make the technique successful. Highly recommend to check it out!
