No Coast BJJ is a very special place. The atmosphere is safe, encouraging, supportive, healing, and fun. I'm very grateful to have found this community.
Posted 11 months agoThis is a great gym to be a part of. As a complete newbie off the streets, Jarid and team welcomed me and challenged me to get better each day! Highly recommend this gym for those starting out and those who have experience. Lot of good people training here!
Posted 1 year agoNo Coast was easily one of the best experiences I've ever had at a martial arts gym. The staff were welcoming & professional, the space was clean and inviting, and the practitioners were friendly & supportive. If I lived in the area, I would definitely want to be a member of No Coast. Top Notch!
Posted 1 year agoMy wife and I dropped in for a noon class while in town, and not only were the members friendly, but the instruction was excellent. Sparring was just as tough as I needed without being reckless. Excellent noon workout, and I'm taking some tips to my home academy. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in town.
Posted 1 year agoI dropped in for a 6AM No-Gi class while in Des Moines for work. It was great, I was greeted by a few members and the coach right away. The facility is first class with lots a of mat space and private showers. The instruction was great and felt safe with all the members I rolled with. Joe was rhetorical instructor and made sure we got a roll in before I had to leave. I will definitely be back when I’m in the Des Moines area.
Posted 1 year agoI really liked this place, everyone is very friendly, I recommend it. 100%
I was in town from Denver and needed some place to train. The guys were very cool and the rolling was great! Will be back when I am in town!
A great place to train Excellent Environment Clean Mats Structured Training My Go to Gym when I'm in Urbandale for work. I've been training for over 17 years and I highly recommend this place for beginners who want to learn the art yet most importantly the lost souls who just want to change their lives and make some friends! Oss
I've trained bjj all over the world, this is one of the best places I've ever trained. The coaching staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
We spent two years at No Coast, and it was a welcoming experience for our family. The kids' program was excellent, and our boys thrived under the guidance of dedicated coaches. While he was there, Coach Jordan's passion and commitment created a positive learning environment where our boys built confidence and advanced their skills. Coach Levi continues to provide that same exceptional level of instruction and support, encouraging our boys to reach their full potential. We are incredibly grateful to all the coaches at No Coast for their wonderful impact on our boys.
Great gym with incredible instructors. Family friendly atmosphere.
Love the kids program! We moved to Urbandale, Iowa about three years ago and I began scouting a gym to take my kids to. So glad I found the kids program at No Coast. I tell anyone who will listen, Jordan Peitzman is hands down the best kids instructor in town. He's super technical in his instruction, but it's his passion for the program, and how he manages what can be a pretty chaotic environment, that really sets him apart. Plus, he's just a great guy. I train at a different gym in the area that I enjoy very much, but I still keep my son at No Coast because I am so impressed with the program Jordan has built. My son loves it so much and never wants to miss class. And there's so many good kids and good families there as well. Great place for families and an incredible instructor! Couldn't ask for more!
This is not a review! But instead I wanted to pick a very public platform in order to express my gratitude. Thank you for everything you all have and continue to do for my family. Not only are you all teaching my children a valuable skill, but you give us as parents someone real to point to as roll models. Thank you for bringing us into the world of jujitsu with such open and welcoming arms. And thank you to everyone who makes me tap and takes the time to explain how they did it or what will make it harder for them to do it next time.
Did a drop in class from out of town and had a great time! Learned a new move, coach and all the people there were super friendly, will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
10/10 100% recommend this gym to anyone that gets the chance to train here. I dropped in while out of town for work to get some rolls and had a blast. Everyone was super friendly and very technical. The gym is huge and clean and the atmosphere was nothing but good vibes. Plenty of students and no shortage of knowledgeable, well versed black belts. Definitely coming back 🤘🏽
We first discovered No Coast when it was in Waukee, but didn't join until they moved to the Urbandale location on 86th. Over the last year (2023), it got moved again to a bigger gym and the place is a lot better for the kids as well as spectators. All three of our boys(5, 7 & 9) are enrolled here and are split into two groups. They enjoy all the sessions they have participated in and keep wanting to come back. Staff are tremendous with teaching and there are enough coaches to keep a watchful eye on the kids to ensure they understand and learn. Cost is very reasonable, and it doesn't cost much to get a set of uniform either. You could always have the kids use uniforms that are there if you need it and can find one that fits. Details There is a week trial period if you'd like your kids to try, which is two or three days - depending on your kids age. Age Group 1: 4-6 Age Group 2: 7+ There is an older kids group as well. Sessions are broken down to the following: Mon, Thu - Age Group 1 (4:30pm-5pm), Age Group 2 (5:15pm-6pm) Tues - Age Group 2 (5:15pm-6pm) There is also a tournament group, which practices Wed. if you're planning on having your kids excel more into the BJJ field.
Great gym in so many ways! Very large gym many people to train with and a very good vibe. Been training for many years. I highly recommend coming to train here.
Caught a couple classes while in the area for work and was not disappointed! Great atmosphere with awesome instructors and incredible students! Thank you guys for having me!
This gym is great, everyone I met there was welcoming and cool. There is a lot of space to roll and not have to collide with others. I appreciated that it wasn’t a gym that frowns upon using takedowns and wrestling. A solid amount of people stayed after class and rolled. Had a lot of fun!
No Coast BJJ is an excellent place to train! I regularly train in Colorado and I stop into No Coast whenever I am in Iowa. All of the members make me feel very welcome and are great to train with! Angela is also an excellent and patient instructor. If you live in or near the Des Moines area or are even just stopping through, I highly recommend training here!
Very hospitable gym with tons of mat space. There are multiple showers and the gym itself is very clean. Would highly recommend to anyone living or stopping by the area.
While stationed at Camp Dodge for 3 weeks I decided to purchase a month at No Coast BJJ. The coaches are too notch and very welcoming. I recommend any of my military brothers and sisters visiting to give them a shot.
I've been doing BJJ for 5+ years. I dropped in to a class at No Coast BJJ as part of a family visit to Des Moines. No Coast held a well-structured class of drilling a technique - and had some chill and some competitive rolls in the open mat after class. Had a good variety of students from the recreational to the competitive. If you're traveling through the Des Moines area, stop by for their class and open mat on Saturday mornings - it was a good time.
Great instructors at helping beginners along with upper belts. They also help you understand the Martial Art component of Mind Body connection that is so valuable in BJJ. Members are all welcoming and helpful to beginners.
I was just visiting from out of town and and the people were very nice and welcoming. I had a great experience would definitely be back!
Dropped in on a class today. Super welcoming environment. Everyone was cool and approachable. The coaches were knowledgeable and helpful. Good spot to roll.
Top notch instructors, clean environment and friendly atmosphere!
Joined No Coast almost 2 1/2 years ago. It is amazing place to train and meet wonderful people. Immediately felt welcomed by everyone and felt like part of the team. Love how the schedule is for everyone. Primarily attending the 6am classes taught by Jordan, allows me to find a balance with family and work - getting more knowledge and skills in an hour class than I have from 2 hour classes training elsewhere. Friday Open Mats are amazing and provide experience to roll and hang out with all of the other wonderful people from day and evening classes. Jared has been incredibly impactful with private lessons teaching me concepts and techniques that have been able to achieve immediate results with in competition. Jared and all the staff have grown such an amazing gym and culture. So happy it found me. Having so much fun and it honestly makes me a better person (spouse, parent, teacher, ect.). Can not recommend the gym enough.
Great group of instructors and students here. I was in town visiting family and stopped in for a class and was very impressed with the space and the instructors. I felt very welcomed and I would definitely recommend to anyone to check this place out! Thank you No Coast!!
Such a wonderful place to train with amazing people, no matter your skill level this is the place to stop! Seriously go give it a try! Great kids program as well! Also Jeff in there with a buzz cut is an easy take down, make sure to roll with him!
Great place to train. Coaches and students were welcoming and fun to train with. Next time I’m in town I hope to be back.
This place is excellent. My buddy is a regular there, and I went to try it out with him over the holidays. Despite being a noob, I had a ton of fun and I actually managed to learn a thing or two. The instructors were thorough, technical, and clearly very high level. But they still took the time to go around and help us all individually. If I move back to Iowa, I'll start rolling at no-coast for sure.
Awesome experience coming in from out of state for some rolls during the holidays.
Dropped in for a class while in town for work. Great instruction and cool people. I liked the format of the class and I was totally wiped out afterwards. Thanks!
Great gym and culture. I was able to come train with Jared for a week. It was incredibly helpful towards developing my catch wrestling game.
Stopped in while traveling to see some family in Grimes! Had a great experience, professor and students were welcoming and kind! Mats and gym were clean and very nice! Would recommend to anyone looking to train whether while traveling or looking for a gym in the area! Will definitely stop by in any future travels!
Great spot! Clean, organized, super friendly, tough guys and girls. When I walked in, they had about 20 kids under control in the class which is a feat in and of itself. Check them out!
great instruction and great culture. couldn't recommend highly enough!
Came in for a drop in last week, very welcoming gym. Clean facilities, great instruction and great rolls with some awesome BJJ players! I will be in Des Moines a lot the next few months so I’ll definitely be back!!!
Stopped by for a drop in class had some good drilling and fun rolls. Everyone was was really nice!
I was passing through the area and needed a spot to train and everyone that was there was respectful and welcoming. Learned alot and had a great time
Great instruction, great rolls!
Very friendly atmosphere and good jujitsu. I dropped in for a noon class from out of town. They treated me kindly. The place was clean. The class was to the point with no time filling warm-ups. The rolls were fun.
Extraordinary coaches, great staff, Awesome school my daughter loves it here.
Hands down the best gym in Iowa. No one follows proto better than they do. The technique portion is sharp and the professors work effective moves and build off them. No coast keeps it high and tight. If hot sauce is the best this place is second best. Don’t be stingy - try it out - remember take ya ubah’s if you need to. Ta ta there gfr’s
Stopped in for a drop-in class while in town. Friendly atmosphere, quality instruction, good workout, welcoming students and coach. Will definitely stop in again when I find myself in the area.
No Coast BJJ is an awesome place to train. The instructors and members are all very respectful, and the training environment is clean, organized, and very inviting. If you're in the Des Moines area, I highly recommend going and starting or continuing your Jiu Jitsu journey at No Coast.
Awesome academy full of friendly and fun people! Can't say enough about the quality of instruction and welcoming atmosphere. They have a women's only class that is full of rockstar ladies willing to take time to explain concepts and help you get the move right. Then there is the Catch Wrestling Club, which blows my mind every time I come. I don't even live in the area, but every time I get a chance to train with No Coast BJJ, it always feels just like I'm at my home gym! Thanks NCBJJ, you guys are AMAZING!!
Had an absolute ball. Walked in as a visiting white belt. Everyone was friendly, the instruction was fun and easy to follow . I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! Thanks guys!
No Coast BJJ is a great school to learn everything from the basics to the most advanced techniques. I have been training at No Coast for a little while now and every time I go in for class I learn something new. There are always fresh perspectives from the multiple professors and teachers. This school is a great place to begin your jiu jitsu journey and a develope your game over the years.
I moved to Des Moines and needed a place to find community. No Coast nailed it. Everyone I worked with (coaches and students) balance patience and intensity. I’ve learned a lot in a short time and I’m looking forward to more.
I dropped in to a class/open mat wile in town for the holiday. Everyone was cool, and I got a lot of good rounds in. I highly recommend training there if you are in the area.
What we had was special
stopped in while traveling for work and had a great session. I felt welcome, enjoyed the lesson and was impressed with the facility. Definitely recommend No Coast!
I had the pleasure of dropping in for a class at No Coast BJJ, Urbandale, Iowa last weekend. It was a super technical and fun class, got to learn techniques from an Olympic level athlete. Also got to make lots of fun conversations with the guys there. If you’re in Iowa or visiting for concerts / events, this is a gym worth checking out.
Im a blue belt from out of town and visit many different BJJ schools while traveling. This is an amazing place to train. Extremely knowledgeable instructors, excellent techniques, and super friendly training partners. Would recommend for anybody brand new to the sport or a veteran of the game looking for a school to call home!!
I dropped in for an open mat without having grappled for 9 years. They were very accepting, nice, professional, and even gave some helpful instruction during our session. Great group of people there and it was a ton of fun. Definitely an awesome place and people!
Every summer I come to Iowa because, my wife is from Ankeny and her family lives here. I've been going to No Coast BJJ annually for the past 4 years usually in July. I love it there, the coaching is great and the team is great. Friendly, fun, and challenging technical rolls. They make me feel like part of their team every time I stop by, I'm surprised how many of them remember my name lol. No Coast is a great place to train if you're visiting from out of town, or if you're looking to join a great Jiu Jitsu school.
Everyone is so nice there and accepting. My son’s first time was a great experience
Great place and great people!
Our now 6-year old son started the Little Kids BJJ class in early May, and it’s been one of the best experiences we’ve ever had as a family. The teachers are incredibly patient with the kids (not an easy feat), while also holding them to high standards. Not only do they make the kids feel like they are doing something important, but they make the kids feel important, without creating false or inflated reasons to do so. At the beginning and end of each class, students line up in rank order. We’ve been able to watch our son slide his way up the line in the few months we’ve been involved. He knows his place, and it motivates him to keep moving up. They also hold small ceremonies anytime a student earns a promotion (usually a stripe on their belt). They celebrate progress, and teach kids the importance of seeing small improvements over time. Each 30-minute class follows a familiar routine, but includes fresh, varied activities each night. Students are paired and grouped for certain activities, but those partners and groups are fluid, often changing multiple times within a single class. All of this results in an atmosphere that’s been incredibly rewarding for our son, and his confidence. I’ve seen multiple positive changes in his approach to school, play time with friends, and other sports/activities because of the way he is treated at No Coast. He doesn’t ALWAYS want to drive across town for his twice weekly class, but the ONLY time he’s ever ended a class unhappy was the night he learned one of his closer friends was moving, and it had been their last class. Those are the only years we’ve seen from him since joining. From the parent side, in addition to the great experience the coaches create for the students, the front desk staff is incredibly welcoming, helpful to new families, and patient/empowering with the kids. The other amazing thing about this place is the family atmosphere in the waiting area. There are 10-12 families that regularly congregate twice a week for the class, and they interact as a community, holding each other’s babies, sharing each other’s snacks and toys, and jumping to clean up messes, as a group, whenever there is a spill or a fall. I will never forget seeing a little brother spill a snack on the floor, only to see at least six adults spring into action, crawling on the floor to clean up the area. Since Day One, our family has felt welcomed into that group, and not once treated like newbies or outsiders. Finally, I wanted to share a story of one of the more impressive interactions I’ve witnessed in our relatively short time at the gym. Near the beginning of a class, one of the teachers came out into the waiting area with a student and explained to the dad that his son had accidentally whipped another boy with his belt while playing before class. The issue was that the boy was refusing to apologize for the accident and denying any involvement, choosing not to accept any responsibility. The dad, supporting the coach, calmly explained to his son that he either needed to apologize to the other student, or leave for the delay. However, instead of laying into his son, or threatening him, he offered to come with his son to stand by him while he apologized. It took some time, but he did come in and apologize. It was an especially surprising end to the story to find out, watching the apology, that it was our son who’d taken the belt to the face. He was fine, but it felt so great to know how he would have been dealt with, in a similar situation. To wrap up a loooong review, No Coast is an amazing place for kids to learn life and BJJ skills. We couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Im from out of town and was looking for a good place to train for a while. I was greeted professionally and was welcomed into the gym. The gym itself was clean and everyone was extremely professional and were seeking the same goals as I was. There were no egos or anyone trying to put you out. They were more interested in teaching you what you could do better and how to improve your game. You can bet that when I'm in town I will be coming to No Coast BJJ. Thank you everyone!
Great training environment! I attended the city-wide open mat and everyone was welcoming and respectful. Facility is nicely-appointed and easy to find, and the instructors are knowledgeable and helpful - great place to train! 👍
I was only able to visit once from out of town, but it was a great experience! Everyone was really welcoming, they had great technique and teaching, and a lot of talented people who made training and rolling a lot of fun. If I lived in the area I would definitely train here.
Out of town guy that dropped in. Nothing but good things to say about these guys!
Great people.
Great gym with a lot of great people! I've worked out off and on in a regular weight and treadmill gym but it never kept my interest, this definitely has and for about 2 years now! I would recommend giving it a try.
Outstanding experience. Great people, great instruction. The thought of joining Jiu Jitsu can be intimidating, but they make the on boarding easy and stress free. They're responsive, will walk you through and pair you with an experienced member to guide you on your way. And once you start, you'll be hooked - you learn something new every time you step in and see and feel improvement week after week. If you're thinking about it, do it.
Great place to train. Friendly people, knowledgeable coaches.
This is the best place ever!!
It becomes more apparent how invaluable this skill and group of people is, the longer you've ben in it. It started out as a fantastic workout and way to blow off steam. Some people are angry in the world and want you to feel like they do, maybe it's that we simulate life or death scenarios every day at the gym; the humbling situations we are put in, but those angry people can get bent. Could not recommend a better group of people to trust, learn from, and "kill or be killed" by 😁.
A clean and well equipped training facility, coupled with knowledgeable and eagerly helpful instructors makes No Coast BJJ a place I am always anxious to get back to. This is not my home gym, however I drop in here once a week when I am in town for work. The gym culture here is fantastic, as everyone is very welcoming and eager to help you improve. I am very grateful to have a place to train when I am in the area. I have already seen several improvements in my game from things I have learned while training here.
I was in the area for a family vacation and stopped by to train for a week. Everyone was great and the level of training is very high. The instructors are friendly and talented, and they make sure everyone understands the techniques. I learned so much in a week. You get to roll with a wide variety of belt levels. I saw no big ego problems. I highly recommend this place.
Great experience, great people, high level training and top notch Americans!!! Thanks for the training!
Stopped in for a Saturday class while traveling. Good instruction, good training.
My entire family has been training at this place for over three years and it's been the best decision we've ever made. The coaches are the best people you will meet in the Des Moines area. You won't find a better place to learn self defense. High level training with genuinely good people.
I was in the area for family business and for this place to train. They were amazing. Awesome instruction, very detailed. And they welcomed me in as part of there own immediately. There were no egos. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. And if you live in the area I highly recommend no coast if you’re looking for a place to train. Very awesome
Came here twice for 2 seminars they have hosted and went to 2 seminars that the instructors John and Jordan donated their time to help a great cause. I watch their videos they post on Instagram and their posts and always getting a great attendance. Looking forward when I can make another visit just to train down there!
Wow! What a great time on the mats! Visiting from out of town with my family so my son and I stopped by for a Saturday class. Learned some great stuff then rolled with a few of the members. I am a beginner and they respected that. Can't wait to go back.
I stopped in visiting from Philly and had an awesome time! Great group of folks showing cutting edge techniques and training hard. If you're looking for a place to train or just passing through town, you'll be very welcomed.
I was visiting the area for the holidays and wanted to get some rolls during vacation. Jared and his crew welcomed me in and I had a great time. Solid BJJ and great facilities. I hope to go back!
This is a phenomenal place to learn the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu. It is a great environmental for anyone to get fit and have fun. This is a very special place. Try it once and before you know it, you'll be hooked!
No Coast changed my life. The people became a second family and the sport became my meditation and my outlet. I was never an athlete before Jiu-Jitsu and No Coast allowed me to start from the very bottom and work my way up. So grateful for No Coast BJJ!
This is a great gym! As a person in their late 40’s just getting into Brazillian Jiu Jitsu I was a little nervous when I first walked in. I didn’t know what to expect. Everyone made me feel right at home from the start. The professors and coaches are extremely knowledgeable and help you through the process. The people that train at No Coast are friendly and helpful. Many times when rolling with a higher belt they’ve told me you should “do this instead of that”, instead of just taking the submission for themselves when they easily could have. Professor Jared, Professor Cliff, and Coach Angela have really worked hard to make the gym a family atmosphere. It’s not a meat-head gym. If you are thinking about getting into Brazillian Jiu Jitsu this is the place in central Iowa to be! You will get a great workout and learn how to handle yourself if you get into that unfortunate situation. Check it out! I believe the first class or week is free.
No Coast BJJ is not only an amazing place to learn Jiu Jitsu, you'll also get a great cardio workout doing something much more exciting and enjoyable than a treadmill. The instructors along with fellow students of all ages and skill levels are eager to teach their art to newcomers. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Every class is an experience in learning a new technique or skill that you've likely never seen before. The Instructors hands on teaching emphasizes knowledge, variety, and humor in a friendly fun loving atmosphere. I can't emphasize enough how much I've been enjoying the time I spend at No Coast BJJ. The owners, Jared and Angela, along with their staff and students have created something unique and special....first week is free, come see for yourself !!
Was in town visiting family, stopped in to get a few rolls in and met a great group of people. I will be back the next time I’m in town.
My son (12) started attending classes at No Coast a little under a year ago. We didn't really have any idea what we were walking into but my son quickly fell in love with the class. The instructors for the children programs are tough but fair. They are able to coral a large group of kids of varying ages/abilities into a safe, respectful learning environment without sacrificing fun. My son has grown not only in his ability but in his maturity as well. The word of week program and other basic tenants of jiu jitsu are filtering into his day to day activities in a good way. As for the jiu jitsu aspect, while I admittedly have limited knowledge of the art, my son has enjoyed from the mental workout he receives as well as the physical. He's enjoying learning more and more each week and building on previously learned skills. All in all, I couldn't be happier with our decision for our son to join the No Coast family.
No Coast is one of the few places I feel safe to push myself and take risks. There is a very strong female presence and that is one of the many things that sets this gym apart. Come try it out-- you will be welcomed with open arms!
My daughter and I started going to No Coast a few months ago and we both like it. There are many facets of people who come to No Coast. Business men, mechanics, salesmen, tech personnel, factory workers, people looking to compete, people looking to get healthy, people looking to learn self defense, and people looking for some self confidence(I.E. me). This is a place I feel comfortable coming to to learn something I’ve known before. Well recommended.
I started training Jiu Jitsu at No Coast BJJ a little over a month ago and I am loving every minute of the experience. Professor Jared and Professor Cliff are great teachers of the art, they are easily approachable and always helpful to everyone at the gym. All members of the gym are very friendly and respectful to each other, and a lot of fun to hang with. The gym offers kids classes as well. My daughter, who was never a fan of any sports, took one week of free classes(to feel the waters) and is now training on a regular basis. The cherry on the top for me is that I lost almost 10 lb already. I highly recommend NO Coast BJJ to those that are looking to pick up a very effective self-defense martial art and get in great shape along the way.
No Coast offers a great atmosphere for learning Jiu Jitsu, whether you are a beginner or have been training for years. They have an experienced and motivated staff that are there to help and can answer all of your question.
Today marks 25lbs of weight loss for me! In a little over 7 months at No Coast I couldn't be happier! Coming into the gym doesn't feel like a work out. It's a place where you can go to push yourself, be yourself and better yourself... Do Yourself a favor and stop in. Just wanted to throw a shout out to the family at No Coast Bjj and say thanks for 25!
Jared and everyone at No Coast is very welcoming and helpful. My wife and I became addicted after our first week in!
Great coaching, great training partners, friendly but competitive environment, and just an all around great place. Joining this gym was one of the best decisions of my life! Come roll with us
I dropped in for two classes while traveling for work and loved the gym and people here! If I lived in the area I would absolutely be a member. Jared Bahr and Cliff Harris are both great instructors with fantastic technique and really went out of their way to make me and a new member feel welcome. The grapplers here are genuinely great people and they really seemed more like a family than a group of people who train together - several of them made friendly small talk with me and thanked me for coming. I highly recommend this gym! (extra shout out to Cliff for helping me improve my bow & arrow technique!)
I began training under Cliff and Jared in 2013. Best decision of my life. At the time, I was in a very dark place mentally and jiu jitsu filled a hole in my life that I never knew existed. I used to literally tremor at the thought of conflict. Jiu Jitsu has provided me with a supreme confidence that allows me to speak my mind without fear of getting my a** kicked. It has provided me a platform to manage my mental state, anger, stress, as well as my physical wellbeing. It has provided me with a family of people that blow my mind every single day with their unconditional love. I will forever be indebted to this art, this gym, and the wonderful people who fill it.
I walked into this without knowing a single thing about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was openly welcomed despite that. Jared and the No Coast team are AMAZING, very encouraging, very motivating.
My son wanted to take Jiu Jitsu classes after my older nephew began them in another city. No Coast was recommended by another parent. He said the kids classes were organized and fun. He was definitely right and I am proud to tell everyone what my son is doing. They also incorporate life lessons, setting goals, leadership, sportsmanship, and friendship. All this in 45min class! Recently they started the Women's Only class, which I am taking with my older daughter. We are having fun, working out, and learning something new. I feel better about her growing up and doing things on her own, knowing that she has skills to defend herself. I would have never joined the regular coed Jiu Jitsu class, but being with all these tough women, I never want to miss a class.
I joined the Women's Class on Sundays about 5 weeks ago as a complete beginner and now I'm addicted. Angela and Tara make learning the techniques super fun and create a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I have never liked going to the gym or going for a run, but learning BJJ from these passionate ladies is more like learning awesome skills while coincidentally working out at the same time.
