  I started training at Mendocino Jiu Jitsu a little over a year ago to learn self defense and it’s been amazing. As an elder millennial female trying a very male dominated sport for the very first time, I was a little intimidated and unsure, but I was put at ease immediately. The owner, Max, is incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated, and an excellent coach and teacher. The community I’ve found there is invaluable, and I’ve learned so much in the year that I’ve been training. Highly recommend!

  One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was trying this gym!! Absolutely fell in love with coming to class, Max is an amazing teacher that really focuses on technique and pushes me every class to my fullest potential and the people there are so kind and supportive. I truly leave every class feeling better than I was the day before. I am extremely lucky to have found this place!!

  Incredible competition-focused gym!! Max puts so much time into helping his students, answering questions, and making sure you're partnering someone who will be most beneficial for your improvement in the sport. Mendocino BJJ students crush it in competitions because they have great instructors and hard rounds!!! Glad I get to say I've been a part of it since the beginning!

  The training at Mendocino is the real deal. Max is an incredible coach and the training is the best I've found in the area. If you want to start training or you already have experience I recommend trying Mendocino to take your skills to the next level.

  Took my very first class tonight with a friend and we had so much fun. Everyone was welcoming and the atmosphere was awesome. I can’t wait to go back!
