1 Year Review – I’ve trained at London Grapple for a year now. It’s never easy going into a new gym, especially one with such a high-level reputation. I was made to feel very welcome from the start. If you’re brand new to BJJ, there’s no better place to start your journey. If you’ve been training for a while, you’ll learn new details, adjustments, and concepts that will improve both your BJJ and your understanding of the sport. You will also be humbled, and you need to make the most of the people there. You’ll share the mats with great coaches, world-class athletes, top-level competitors, hobbyists, and complete beginners alike. Everyone on the mat is always happy to troubleshoot, exchange techniques, and chat after class. All the coaches have been very welcoming and are always willing to answer your questions (even the "Yeah, but what if...?" ones). I’ve met some great people since I started, added new elements to my game, learned new techniques, and made some great friends. Even if you’re just considering a drop-in session, you’ll be made to feel welcome.

My son does BJJ here, and I couldn’t recommend Grapple highly enough. The coaches are fantastic and have a great way of making the sessions fun while also teaching the kids valuable skills, both on and off the mats. Sometimes martial arts gyms can come with a bit of ego, but that’s definitely not the case at Grapple. Everyone is really down to earth, welcoming and genuinely friendly. It creates a great atmosphere for both the kids and parents. The classes are well structured, and the coach-to-child ratios are excellent, even when sessions are busy. There’s also a great choice of classes throughout the week after school, as well as on Saturday mornings, which makes it easy to fit around family life. The first class is a free trial, which is a great way to give it a go. We’ve recommended Grapple to at least three of our friends’ kids, and they’ve all loved it too! Highly recommended for kids classes!

It's genuinely rare to find somewhere where you learn through positive reinforcement, you can trust your training partners and the coaches to help you get better, and the mats are also clean (so no ringworm every few weeks which is always a plus). Most gyms get maybe one or two things right. Here, the coaches actually care about your progress and treat you like an adult, and in that way there is really no divide or social hierarchy between lower and higher belts. Your training partners genuinely want to help each other improve. The space is properly maintained. And honestly, it's so easy to build a community and friendships here, especially as a girl. That's something I have genuinely struggled to find elsewhere.

I moved to London Grapple after two months as a blue belt because I wanted to improve my performance and train in a more competitive environment, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my Jiu-Jitsu journey. I felt extremely welcomed by the community. Everyone is amazing, supportive, and friendly, especially the girls💖, who made me feel included and comfortable. The coaches are incredible patient, attentive, and dedicated to helping everyone improve. They create a positive and enjoyable training environment where learning feels natural.

My little boy Eric has tried multiple activities in London (gymnastics, football, theatre and drama, taekwondo..) but London Grapple jiu-jitsu and muaythai is by far the best activity London has to offer children. The coaches are prepared, personable and attentive. Children safety is supervised at all time. Aside from learning martial arts, staying active and getting fitter/stronger children are practicing discipline, respect and boundaries. Whatever your children are into, London Grapple classes will be an incredible addition to your kids childhood formation. I have been a personal trainer and boxing coach in London for 15 years and I couldn't recommend this place more.
