The Jubilee Centre stands out with its recently expanded, state-of-the-art gym, offering over 200 fitness stations and dedicated zones for cardio, strength, and functional training. Users consistently praise the high quality and variety of equipment, including adaptive options for inclusivity. In addition to the gym, key facilities include a six-lane, 25m swimming pool, multiple fitness studios with a wide selection of classes, a climbing and bouldering wall, and three squash courts. The centre's design is bright, spacious, and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere for all users—students, staff, and the wider community. While peak times can be busy, the quality of the facilities and the dedication to inclusive fitness make this a premier spot for training and recreation. Highly recommended for its impressive facilities and comprehensive offering! 👍

we are community members not students ; the facilities are 1st rate large gym well equipped showers and changing rooms lots of classes instructors very helpful membership includes classes like tia chie, only downsides are the pool is still being worked on so not open . the traffic getting their is a nightmare and no parking nearby we live in bitterne southampton ,we were members of bitterne leisure center which is under new management and is now more expensive ! than the jubilee halls swimming pool closed to allow training for a whole week how is that acceptable , ventilation in gym very poor , gym shower areas not clean enough , members not being looked after

Very expensive (£9.45) for one swim! (By comparison my local pool in London charges £4.50 for pay as you go). I’ve swum here for years when visiting family in the area but the prices which were reasonable previously are now extortionate. I wouldn’t come again - tbey’ve priced out visitors as it’s only reasonably priced if you’re a member, which is a shame.

Very good gym. I think the booking system re courts is quite backwards because if you have 4 people on one court it's £40? But if you only have one person it's £10. Not to mention you can't book at desk. Not to mention you can only bring other members of the gym unless you want a surcharge.

4 years ago, I gave the gym a 4 star review. Today, after much though and effort to provide useful feedback to the facility managers, I must downgrade it to 2 star. Here are the reasons: - The gym is often at over capacity during the University teaching period. - The gym closed for nearly 3 weeks for refurbishment without offering transparent and viable alternatives to their customers (refunds or subscription extensions were not offered, as one would expect). The refurbishment itself was to try and fix a poor original design. - The gym will close without forewarning - for example, today. This basically signals little or no value towards their customers' time. There are some valuable aspects about the gym, which is way I am not giving it 1 star. These are chiefly: - the gym staff are helpful and polite - the gym is well located - the gym equipment is reasonably new and well maintained Bottomline: if you have any other major gym near you, use that one. You might even save money, as the Jubilee currently charges over £30/month for non-students. If you can cope with prolong and sometimes sudden closures, and do not have alternative facilities - go for it.

Absolutely ridiculous. I paid £28.99 for my membership, yet the gym was closed for over three weeks just to replace the flooring. There was no reason to shut the entire gym for that long. They could have completed the work in sections while members continued using the equipment. The “alternative” they offered was the Mayflower gym, which is nowhere near me. I had to pay for bus fares every time I wanted to work out, meaning I ended up spending even more money because of their decision. To make matters worse, the Mayflower gym is way too small and doesn’t even have enough machines to use, so it’s not a proper alternative at all. To top it all off, there was no compensation, no refund, and no effort to make things right. They were happy to take my full membership fee while providing no access to the gym I actually signed up for. Terrible customer service and a complete lack of respect for paying members. If you’re going to charge people full price while closing the gym for weeks, at least compensate them for the inconvenience instead of pretending a smaller, overcrowded gym miles away is an acceptable replacement. Very disappointing.

If you plan to visit for the gym, and workout between 9am to 9pm, just don't join. The gym is always so full of people that it is difficult to do what you want. You just end up waiting for equipment and machines to become free. The gym is too small, there is not enough equipment, the layout isn't good, and there are too many people. I genuinely hate coming to this gym, it's just a horrible experience. I only joined because the climbing wall is included. If it wasn't for the climbing wall, I wouldn't come here. There is also a swimming pool and various courts, which I never use. There are only mixed changing rooms, so it's just weird to have men and women sharing the same area. You have both men and women just walking around half naked at times. People have no concept of decency these days. Maybe it is this left wing neoliberalism that means that we can't have male and female spaces anymore.
