My time at Republic Oxford has been a complete dream, I started out doing the women's only class for the first 3 months and soon joined the full membership and have trained with the gym for over a year whilst I was a student in Oxford. The community, from the beginning have always been so welcoming, the training environment has always felt safe, inclusive and lead by incredible instructors (male and female) who truly care. Overtime a real close knit community was formed from the women's class, where the majority of us would go to a nearby cafe and talk after training about all things life/jiujitsu related which has allowed me to form some of my closest friendships to this day. I highly encourage anyone, but especially women who are looking to join a gym whether its for the first time, or if you have experience, to strongly consider this place.
I highly recommend training here! The environment is friendly, welcoming, and safe. Coach Lee is an excellent instructor — he keeps a close eye on the class and proactively offers help and feedback when he sees someone who needs it. The students are great training partners too.
Jiu-Jitsu Republic has been brilliant for our children. Kind, patient tuition within a respectful atmosphere that helps children to flourish. Thoroughly recommend.
Dropped in for a lunch time class. Everyone was super welcoming and nice. Liam was a very attentive instructor with corrections that really helped the technique of the day click for me. Special thanks to Lee as well!

We really love my son’s jiu-jitsu lessons! The instructors are amazing with the kids — patient, encouraging, and make every session fun. The admin team is also fantastic and always helpful whenever we have a question or problem.
My son and daughter absolutely love the class and the instructors (5 and 7 year old). The team have done a great job of balancing the martial art with fun to keep the kids engaged through the class. Highly recommend!

Everyone is so welcoming and professional and are always happy to give me the attention and patience to learn the various techniques taught. I quickly signed up to the monthly membership after my first free session and look forward to developing my way in the jiu-jitsu world.
Posted 1 year agoI enrolled my son in the kids classes and he's really enjoying it. The instructors are excellent and the sign up process was easy. Seems like a very welcoming place for people that are very new to martial arts of any kind.
Posted 1 year agoMy daughter loves the classes at Jiu Jitsu Republic Oxford. She is going 3 x a week and is hooked The instructors and format are super inclusive and very flexible. I am so pleased with the team and the positive effect it is having on her strength, stamina, mood, and confidence.
Posted 1 year agoSuch a welcoming and friendly club with an amazing sense of community! The women's class was a fantastic introduction to the sport, but I quickly discovered that the mixed classes are just as fun and inclusive—even for smaller practitioners like me. No matter your size or experience level, you'll feel supported and encouraged here!
I went for a trial last month (initially apprehensive) and signed up straight after the session. The instructors and members have been awesome and made joining the club very easy! The sessions are always enjoyable and no matter your level of ability other members are happy to give advice. Overall, a fantastic club!
