Signing our child up at Hero Jiu Jitsu in Exeter has been a great experience. From the very first class, the coaches were warm, professional, and completely in tune with the needs of young kids. They’ve created a space that feels safe, fun, and empowering. Since starting, we’ve seen huge growth — not just in physical ability, but in confidence, focus, and respect. Our child looks forward to every class and comes home excited to show us what they’ve learned (especially the takedowns and escapes!). The coaches are amazing role models who know how to balance discipline with encouragement, and they genuinely care about each student.

I am 57 and have been training BJJ for 7 years. If you are considering BJJ or looking for a dojo, Hero provides a welcoming, positive and family like atmosphere with exceptional instruction for both children and adults. The dojo is always clean and there are a variety of class times available. I highly recommend Hero.

Great for kids and adults, Tony runs a great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy! I’ve taken classes to learn fundamentals. Tony trains Champions!

We enrolled our daughter in beginner BJJ classes at Hero after researching the gyms in this area. We definitely made the right choice as she has loved the overall experience as well as the coaches and her fellow students. The flexibility of the schedule has been great for her because she does play another sport. The cost is fairly priced and transparent. Hero’s kids program is clearly not an afterthought. The kids train seriously while having a blast and you can tell that they are being prepared to be the future leaders of the gym. We are very happy to be part of the Hero family!

Starting BJJ as an adult is a daunting task, I enrolled in the adult jiu jitsu program and was immediately welcomed into a clean and safe learning environment. The instructors display a deep understanding of the art, patience and great attention to detail. The community of students here is unparalleled. Highly recommend joining the Hero family to train jiu jitsu.

Great place to learn Jiu Jitsu!! All the instructors are super kind super helpful. Tony is great with kids. I can't imagine why anyone would want to go anyplace else

Amazing coach who deserves all the best and wonderful ppl that attend this school. My husband and my son attend this school 5-6 days a week. Recommend this jujitsu studio to every one of all ages.

My family enjoys your Jiu Jitsu academy. My youngest granddaughter is very tiny for her age and very shy. After just a few months she has transformed into a confident and outgoing child. Her teacher at school had noticed the change. My other granddaughter loves the physical and mental challenges and is looking forward to competing. My son is very involved as a student and parent. It is a family activity.

Hero BJJ provides an amazing atmosphere with top notch instruction from Hector Rosario who is knowledgeable, detailed and patient. There is a strong sense of community among members. The members are very welcoming and always happy to assist other members on their BJJ journey. I highly recommended Hero.

HERO Jiu Jitsu is a great and welcoming place to train for both adults and kids! My son and I have been training Jiu Jitsu with Hector (AKA-Tony) for 4+ years and it just keeps getting better. Hector & Phil are top notch instructors/coaches and have created a tight knit community where it is fun to learn. I Highly recommended for anyone looking to start training Jiu Jitsu!

We love Hero Jiu Jitsu Academy! Our family of five has been training under Tony for 6 years now. Each of us have grown exponentially with the incredible instruction, care and friendships we’ve developed over the years. Jiu Jitsu has taught us all that hard work and dedication can pay off not only on the mats but in every aspect of life. I love how the academy offers theme nights, no-gi classes, kids classes and a women’s only class. My daughter and I can say with confidence that we feel safe rolling and drilling with the men at this academy. Hero offers a wonderful family inviting atmosphere where kids and adults can learn jiu jitsu in a fun and challenging way!

I highly recommend Hero Jiu Jitsu Academy. The instructors are top notch - they are not only knowledgeable about the sport, but also create a friendly and fun atmosphere. There is always music playing, there are fun theme nights, and while people all work really hard, there are also a lot of laughs on and off the mats. I love that there is a welcoming and supportive group of women at the gym, and that they offer a women's only class. That being said, I also always feel safe training with the male students here as well.

Hero jiu jitsu is like a second home for my children. My boys have been training with Coach Tony for 6 years and 3 years. He plays such an important role in their lives and has shaped them in so many ways. The confidence and perseverance that jiu jitsu has taught them shows in everything they do on and off the mat.

Hero jiu jitsu academy is not only a jiujitsu gym but a place of community. Over my time of training here I’ve never felt so welcomed. With helping hands everywhere you look, to people looking to give advice and pass down their special moves. Its just all around a great place to start the sport and it’s for a sure a place that will make you stick with it !

My wife Melissa and I have been students of Hector Rosario for close to two years now and love the training, atmosphere, and people on the mats at Hero BJJ. The instruction is excellent and we've made a second family with the crew that we roll with each week. If you're interested in trying BJJ, I highly recommend it! We're both in our late 40's, so you're never to old to start!

The best BJJ gym in the area with classes for different needs like competition classes, woman’s classes, fundamentals and kids and adult classes. The community is amazing and the gym itself is amazing. At hero you will be loved and welcomed by everyone and if your new don’t worry there are and still is new students that are just joining so you won’t feel left out and the higher belts help out everyone so you should learn quick and fall in love with the sport quicker but nothing happens quicker at hero than being welcomed into the family.

We are so happy with our new gym, HERO. Our kids (4 & 6) have an absolute blast at every class and we love watching them learn and grow. The facility is super clean and comfortable to be at (especially when you’re there for hours at a time). The coaches truly care about each and every kid. We couldn’t be happier at HERO.

I've trained at a lot of spots over the years and Hero is my favorite by a long shot. Friendliest crew I've ever trained with and the most dynamic program I've ever seen. If you're a middle-aged guy like me that just wants to roll and work out or you want to be a serious competitor, they've got something for everyone.

HERO Jiu-Jitsu is the perfect place for my family and I. Everyone at HERO is family, ego’s are checked at the door. We learn from each other and push one another to be a better version of yourself. A wonderful community, fantastic instructors, clean! And family friendly. At Hero you will be welcomed with open arms! The staff is incredibly friendly and everyone on the mats are always helpful. The kids program is one of the best I’ve seen and a phenomenal way for kids to burn energy while building a skill. If you’re genuinely ready to make a change for the better in your life you need to check this place out.
