I was recommended by my Jiu Jitsu Professor to visit Technics Jiu Jitsu and Legacy Muay Thai while I was out here in Oahu for vacation. I’d like to say they were so welcoming to my wife and I. It was a packed class for their advanced Jiu Jitsu, but I had a blast. I got plenty of drilling time and Professor Matt had us doing sparring rounds after. Friendly and welcoming environment for my wife and I. I would highly recommend anyone who’s local to join or at least try. It’s always intimidating trying to find a gym to attend, but this place reminded me of my home gym. I would recommend Technics Jiu Jitsu and Legacy Muay Thai to anyone visiting. I had a great experience training here on vacation. Everyone was very welcoming and the Jiu Jitsu was very high level and technical. I recommend Gracie Technics to tourists looking for some training.

Great gym and training atmosphere. Professor Matt is very welcoming and is excellent at technique breakdown and application. If you are a beginner, I highly recommend the intro to jiujitsu. If you are an experienced grappler and are looking for some fun rolls, sign up for the advanced. If you are on vacation and wondering if waking up to go roll is worth it, trust me, it always is!

My brother and I came in for Muay Thai intro class for the first time at this gym. Matt was very chill and welcoming. Registration was quick and easy. The instructor, Coach Tyler, did great at instructing. Had hella fun with my brother today. We started off w/ some stretches then shadow boxing. Moved onto drills without a partner, then some drills on thai pad with a partner. Ended off with some drilling conditioning. Anyone who wants to do Muay Thai at this gym should/have to do the intro class first. Great gym layout and soft mats; perfect for anyone who wants to roll around without getting mat burn. Shower and bathroom accommodated.
Stopped by for a 11am advanced Jiu-jitsu class. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Matt is a great instructor! Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in town.

I went to the Bjj and Muay Thai intro class! The gym was very welcoming and friendly. The instructors were very professional and technical and I learned a lot in both classes. I highly recommend visiting this gym! It had such a great environment, facility, and culture.

I stopped by Gracie Technics while visiting Honolulu and asked if I could drop in to train for a day. Professor Matt was very welcoming and kindly allowed me to join in on both the Gi and Nogi classes. Coach Mike provided some excellent instruction and all the other students were polite and open to train and roll with me. I had a great experience dropping in and I highly recommend to check out the academy when you’re visiting Oahu.

We had an amazing experience at Gracie Technics tonight! My two boys and I felt incredibly welcomed from the moment we walked in. The vibe was fantastic and friendly, and you can tell the culture here is strong and positive. It was definitely one of the highlights of our Hawaii trip. Highly recommend!

My daughter and i have changed in amazing ways doing jitsu we love it here ,family's ,fighters no matter every person here is humble and on a journey to better themselves. Coach Sara is a hammah,my daughter's idol,coach Matt hammah ,coach Mike hammah ,coach Lance hammah ,coach se-bas hammah ,coach Chuck hammah of course coach Rylan hammah. They have no clue how much they've impacted our lives or how much they mean to us but the love we have is unconditional and honored and proud thank you technics jiu-jitsu !
I visited Gracie Jiu-Jitsu during my travels to Honolulu and stopped by for a drop in. Everyone was extremely friendly and very welcoming. I would highly recommend checking this out if you're visiting and looking for a place to work in some BJJ during your vacation! I was visiting family on vacation and one of my cousins invited me to come drop in and train, and the professors along with the rest of the students were very welcoming. I went to the non instructional no gi class on Mondays and a Muay Thai fundamentals class on Tuesdays, both classes were really great. Everyone was super helpful and kind. I’d highly recommend coming here to train whether you’re visiting or live in the area!
Great team, atmosphere and professors at Gracie Technics! I was in town on military training and after a phone call with black belt and Professor Matt, I was allowed to drop into the classes on short notice. I really enjoyed the classes and open mat sessions. I will definitely train here again!

My son and I went there for a jiu jitsu class. What the professor taught was very helpful and I was able to apply the concept that same night during one of my rolls. Got in a number of rolls, the guys there are very technical. Everyone was welcoming, we felt right at home. A good intense workout where I learned something, thank you GT BJJ for having us. BTW there is also a Muay Thai section of the gym where, above the entryway, you will notice Max Holloways UFC belt on display.

Dropped in for a class because me and a buddy are visiting from Cali. Called the gym and spoke directly to Matt, the owner, super chill and super respectful and he told us just to drop in for the class that night. It’s been a while since I stepped on the mat but it was nice to come to a great gym on my first day back. I’ve been to several gyms back in the states on my Jiu Jitsu journey but there are few gyms that make you feel like home. Everyone was super welcoming and respectful. Gym was clean and the class was very detailed. Good amount of mat space for a packed house, but everyone got rolls in. Got to get a lot of good rounds in and so did my buddy. If anyone is in Honolulu or any where in Hawaii, this is definitely a great place to train!! Will definitely be back! Thanks for the hospitality and the great rounds 🤙🏽
The students and instructors were very friendly and loved having visitors. They made me feel like I belonged and was part of the family. The gym was clean and had lots of students making rolling even more fun.

Spent a week in Hawaii and was able to check out the gym! It was super clean , coaches and staff were awesome super friendly and welcoming . No egos here, training was awesome got good rounds in . Was able to take some jiujitsu in and Muay Thai . If you’re a local or interested in training and this is close I’d go here . World class training , coaching . My visit to Gracie Technics lived up to my expectations in terms of the culture, vibe and technicality of the whole crew. Although Rylan was not around when I dropped in last week, Coach Matt did an awesome job holding the fort, and kept the classes pumping and packed. Highly recommend visiting the academy for drop in rolls, or to sign up for your jiujitsu journey in a friendly and supportive environment.

Really enjoyed my visit here. The people were all nice and the upper belts were very helpful and informative. It didn't feel like there was any ego rolling around like you see at some gyms. The professor taught about the concept of effective distance and we worked on some techniques to reiterate this. I liked that he taught on a concept instead of just drilling in a submission so you understand what and why you're doing what you're doing.
I dropped in for a 11am class after speaking with Matt who was friendly and welcoming. Sebastian was ready and waiting for me and gave me some tips about how to make the most of my experience. The class was well organized and I definitely got a sweat on! Thanks so much for the hospitality :)
Visited from California and am currently training out of 10th planet. They were very knowledgeable and placed me in an appropriate class for my trial session. Felt challenged, but not out of place. Facility is extremely clean and well kept. Also has a very amiable and welcoming environment. Learned a lot and didn’t feel intimidated to ask questions despite training out of a different school. If I ever were to move here, would definitely make this my home grappling gym.

Phenomenal instructional with even better training partners at Gracie Technics. I attended Gracie Technics after noon class while traveling for work, and the gym felt like I was training back home. The facility was nice with super clean mats and spacious areas to change. The bathrooms were really clean and well attended. One of the lead instructors, Matt, was very welcoming and easy to work with as we went through the waiver process and got ready for class. I have kids who train back home, and watching the environment and kids classes at Technics with Matt teaching, I would enroll them at Technics if I lived on Oahu. Any time I'm back in Hawai'i, I'll train at Gracie Technics.
I was in Hawaii for a work trip and it was recommended by my instructor at my home gym in Ohio that I stop by Gracie Technics while I'm out here. The experience was outstanding. Professor Matt walked us through some really cool advanced techniques for the first 30 or so minutes, then we spent the next 45 minutes rolling with everyone in class. Everyone was immensely friendly and welcoming. Everyone I rolled with was also a very high level jiujitsu practitioner so I was able to learn a ton in my one session. Thank you team! I hope to see you again in the future!

I highly recommend Gracie Technics Jiu-Jitsu & Legacy Muay Thai. I'm visiting Oahu for a couple weeks from the East Coast and wanted to continue training and sharpening my skills while I'm away from my home gym (Pentagon MMA). Professor Matt quickly responded and invited me to come train with them. He introduced me to the other coaches and urged me to talk shop with them. I attended a Muay Thai class with Coach Al and will also attend Muay Thai classes with Coach Ivan Flores. The atmosphere is excellent. Instructors and students are all very welcoming and respectful. The facility is spacious and clean too. Being a father, I also appreciated that it's family-friendly, since there are students of all ages who genuinely seem to enjoy training here. I stayed after my class to observe the other classes and can say the quality of instruction is top-notch. Instructors are great about breaking down each technique and thoroughly explaining the reasoning behind them so students can improve their execution. Before I left for the night, Sarah suggested I get a picture with Coach Ivan, which was awesome! Drop in if you're ever looking for a place to train while in Oahu. I'm certainly looking forward to learning everything I can while I'm here and incorporating it with my own skill set. Just on vacation and needed some work, dropped in to Legacy Muay Thai. Both staff and students at both venues were very welcoming and down to earth. Instructors were clear and precise, delivering step by step instructions. Been doing striking for over 5 years and I still learnt something new today in the beginners class. Amazing experience 😊
Just started training and attending the intro to jujitsu classes. I’ve only been in three classes so far with technics but I’ve already learned so much within that small amount of time. Sebastian is an awesome teacher, Down to earth guy that really cares for the students. Whenever I have a question or have trouble with understanding certain drills/moves. he gladly guides me in the right direction and teaches me first hand on how to improve. All while being patient and understanding especially if I don’t get something right the first time. Solid instructor. Matt was also really helpful and welcoming. provided me with all my questions and concerns in a timely manner over the phone and in person. He kindly let me sit in on the advanced classes to check it out and made me feel excited about jujitsu. The people in the technics community are down to earth and make me feel right at home. Great school. 100% would recommend coming here if you’re interested in jujitsu.

I started my Jiu Jitsu journey last September so I’m still fairly new to the sport and there’s always more to learn. As someone who’s been on the fence of training jiu jitsu for months now, I would 100% begin my journey here at Gracie Technics if I lived in Oahu! I visited the gym with my fiancé and was able to observe the noon class. The ambiance of the gym is incredible. It’s calm and welcoming with an undercurrent of deep respect for martial arts. I could tell the instructors were invested in each student and the student’s progress, making sure each student understood the technique that was being taught during the class. Rylan would call for pauses during drilling to reiterate specifics of the move when he notified students struggling with the technique. This type of attention to detail and investment into the students is perfect for young children and beginners. I encourage families in the area to visit the gym and meet the instructors or observe a class. You’ll be impressed with the cleanliness of the gym and the no-frills, all-encompassing martial arts instruction. Highly recommended!

Professor Rylan and Professor Matt are wonderful instructors. They have a vision for jiu-jitsu that is exemplified by their commitment and dedication to their students. They understand jiu-jitsu and are able to break it down to teach in a way that is easily digestible, no matter your experience level. They are also patient, ensuring their students understand jiu-jitsu conceptually to build strong foundations. I have known Rylan and Matt for close to 10 years and they are truly masters of their craft. The atmosphere at Gracie Technics is also very warm and welcoming. You’ll feel right at home as if you’re family. The gym is also very clean. The mats are kept in immaculate condition and are cleaned after every class. I stopped in and observed. Rylan was an amazing trainer. He grappled with as many students as he could. The way he explained and showed the techniques made it easy to follow. He’s a very happy smiley guy that will make you feel comfortable. The gym was clean and the other student were very welcoming.

I started training jiujitsu on a neighbor island while working there. Once the project was completed I wanted to continue my training once returning to Oahu. I visited two other gyms prior to reaching out to Gracie Technics. The gym manager, Matt, was welcoming and very professional on the phone and in person and offered a free trial class. The experience was exceptional. The staff is very professional and friendly. The facility was well kept and clean. After my initial trial class I was convinced that this was the place to continue jiujitsu.
Gracie techs is the best Jiujitsu academy ever! You will love it and the price is understandable!! Trust me it's worth it and it's cheap and you will learn good jiujitsu here.

Started the BJJ intro class with Sebastian, excellent instructor and as helpful as you need him to be. After getting into the more advanced classes with Rylan and Matt the help was just as good if not better because the variety of belts and people you train with constantly challenge you and the atmosphere is one of learning. I had been to 2 other Academies, before I found what I was looking for at Gracie technics. If you are looking for actual self-defense Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, this is the place. Rylan and Matt are amazing teachers, and truly run a professional Academy. Every lesson is well thought out, and they break down technique for everyone. Training is very safe there. Very high level Jiu Jitsu practitioners there to roll with as well, which makes your Jiu Jitsu that much better.

This place was very welcoming. Ryland and Matt were both very friendly and let me drop in to train with them on a Friday (Gi) and Monday afternoon (no Gi). The facility was very clean and had two bathrooms and a shower. Ryland covered takedowns and ground technique into a submissions so there was definitely a flow to all of this. He’s very knowledgeable of what he’s showing. I would definitely come back. There were a good amount of people for the afternoon classes as well which says a lot about the establishment. Dropped in from out of town and Rylan and Matt were both super welcoming and friendly. The instruction was top notch and the facilities are very impressive. Great place to train.

I love the academy. Its been 6 months rolling there. The techniques are broken down really well. If you can get the technique down they're willing to help. The kickboxing classes are awesome as well. If you are looking to get in shape. And learn from a coach to multiple ufc fighters. Then this is the place for you
I researched all over the island and chose this school based on reviews. My 5 year old son expressed his interest in martial arts and I felt this would be a good fit. I initially called the school for a trial class and spoke with Matt. He was very welcoming on the phone and seemed eager to gain a new student. I told Matt that my son is on the Autism Spectrum Disorder and he stated he was very much so okay with that. Later that day, I took my son to the class and it was pretty rough. He was running around, not paying attention and being pretty disruptive. Which I understood. It's a new environment, he's not used to the structured class and he just wants to play and have fun. After the class, Matt appeared to be very annoyed and would not make eye contact with me when discussing future plans for my son. There was another instructor named Chuck who offered to give my son private lessons. I jumped at the opportunity because my son loved the physical aspect of the sport and it would still give him that one on one attention without distractions. We did private lessons with Chuck for a little over 2 months. The lessons were pretty rough at times. My son would like to play around, but he still paid attention and retained the information that he was being taught. The holidays were coming up and we told Chuck we would like to take a break and come back after the new year because we were going on vacation to the mainland. Chuck was ok with it. He expressed how much he adored my son and wanted to continue to teach him. He made it seem like he genuinely cared and wanted to invest the time. We return and I reach out to Chuck regarding starting lessons back up again and crickets. He completely ghosted me. I sent texts, no reply. Calls, kept ringing and go to voicemail. I even emailed the school, no reply. It makes me sad because my son keeps asking when he is going to go back and see "Mr. Chuck" and I have to tell him he cannot anymore. I just wish that if the school or any of the instructors did not want to spend the time with my son, they would just tell me that. I would have respected their decision more instead of them completely ignoring me. Seems a bit unprofessional.
