I have been training at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Monroe for over a month now and really enjoy it. Instructor Paul is very patient and works with every student to make sure they learn self-defense techniques they need to defend themselves. It is also a great way to stay in shape and meet very nice people.

As someone looking to learn self defense and get some good exercise in my late 40s this studio is a great place to train. The instructors are amazing and welcoming and make sure students are comfortable and learning the correct way to perform the techniques. Highly recommend!
When I decided I was ready to get back into martial arts after nearly 30 years away, I had a very distinct vision in my mind for the type of jiu-jitsu school I was looking to join. Before choosing Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Monroe, I visited several other gyms in the area to get a feel for their culture and curriculum. The other gyms just didn't fit my goals, as I am more interested in focusing on self-defense versus sporting jiu-jitsu. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Monroe is everything I could have hoped for, in that the people are kind, the culture is incredibly welcoming and highly collaborative, safety is a top priority and, especially when combined with the online access to the Gracie curriculum, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Monroe by far offers the highest value proposition around. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner.

My son wanted to learn self defense. I was familiar with the Gracie name back in California and was excited to know there was one in Monroe. They welcomed us in and showed my son and myself some moves on the first day. The Instructor and the other students encourages each other, its given my son a whole new confidence. I personally have learned a lot. I have met some great people that are not just training partners, but now friends. For my son this was a big win from becoming from a shy and insecure teenager to a very confident young man thanks to Gracie Jiu Jitsu Monroe!
Paul and crew at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Monroe do a wonderful job of teaching the Gracie Combatives and the kids Bullyproof classes. My two kids and I trained here and have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. If you've ever considered trying Jiu Jitsu or getting your child involved in an active and engaging martial art then you should definitely give this place a try!
All of the instructors are super with teaching the kids and run an incredible program. I wish we could have had this when I was young.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Monroe has been such a positive experience for me. There are so many things that you will benefit from by going there. I personally have experienced a clear, concise teaching of Jiu-Jitsu. I’m pretty much a novice to the sport, and have been amazed at how Paul has been able to teach me at a novice level, while at the same time keeping it challenging as well. I have also met some great people that are not just training partners, but now friends. I always feel challenged, rewarded, edified, and more confident at every class. In a world of hate, fear, and doubt this is an escape into fun, happiness, positivity, and brotherly love.
I have both a military and law enforcement background. I’ve been wanting to further my Brazilian jiu jitsu training but hadn’t found the right program. Gracie Monroe opened and I couldn’t be happier. The Instructor not only knows Jiu Jitsu, but knows how to teach Jiu Jitsu. The Gracie Combatives program is structured and practical. The online tools are extremely helpful for reviewing techniques, tracking your progress, and staying in the loop. Something I didn’t expect was the atmosphere they created with the students. Everyone has a goal to make everyone else better. That is our culture. We train together, we learn together, we grow together. It’s especially great for my kids, who are both in the bullyproof program. The instructor is very friendly and Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is perfect for true street readiness for any situation. They offer a lot and at your pace. We also have our kids in the Bully Proof program and they love it! You will not be disappointed in the Gracie way and this BJJ gym.
Great instruction - Straight from the source! Learn jiu jitsu from the people that started it all. Great family and fun atmosphere. Very organized curriculum. Very neat and clean environment. Very friendly and not intimidating at all. I would HIGHLY recommend.
