As a woman I wanted to find a self defense class that would help me feel safer and more confident in my ability to defend myself if something were to happen but I was always very intimidated by physical contact and so I am so grateful to have found the Women Empowered classes at Gracie and be able to train in a space where I feel supported and like I'm learning real skills that could help me in worst case scenarios.

My ten year old daughter has been attending for nearly a year and has enjoyed every class. The instructors are patient and dedicated to help each child in the skill level they are at. There is opportunity for more skill level classes as they improve. The confidence and treating others respectfully is taught consistently. Tanya, Tony and all staff are amazing!! This is an opportunity for men, women, teens and children to gain understanding of jujitsu while building relationships. I truly believe this is a skill for life.

The first thing we feel when we get in to this place was friendly, fun and welcomed. While other place similar to this was feeling intimidated. My Son was saying yes to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu right away. Started the Combatives program and they are super informative and attentive on the technique! Also put my 8year old in the jr grapplers and she loved it! I signed up for my son a few months back for the 10 day free trial. First of all that many days for a free trial is unheard of these days. It really gives you enough time to decide if it will be a good fit, but after the first day my son loved it and wanted us to sign him up. He is about a month and 1/2 in and he has learned so much already. Coaches and staff are super friendly and you can tell there is a great community here. We’re happy to be here.
My son has learned so much in the last year! Lessons are well structured, with the bonus of having online videos to review with. The staff is great, and you can tell that all the kids feel comfortable with all the coaches and look up to them. We look forward to many years of learning with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora!

We signed our daughter up for Jiu-Jitsu expecting her to learn self defense techniques but the training she has received has been that and SO much more! The coaches are also reinforcing the respect and manners we teach at home. Any time a parent can find others to help instill values and self-worth is a big win! And our daughter loves the confidence she is gaining!
Decided a few months ago to put my girls in jiu-jitsu and came across this location, read some about them and instantly knew this was the perfect place to send my two teenage daughters! Having girls you want to make sure they feel comfortable in a learning environment, especially in what seems to be a male dominated sport which i quickly realized was not true all the ladies here have been outstanding. We attended a free trail period and during those days it solidified this was the perfect spot for my teenagers. We done combatives and women empowered both were amazing classes with such compassionate coaches. Everyone including other students made them feel welcome! Professor Tony and ALL the coaches have been extraordinary in their communication, sportsmanship and education in jiu-jitsu and abilities to teach others. I would highly recommend to anyone willing to come in and take a peak at a class! This has boosted both my daughters self esteem and given them such confidence! If I could give 10 stars I would! Come in for a free trail and join this amazing team! They are providing a life skill that is essential for all ages as a mother I couldn't ask for a better support team then the one we found here at Gracie jiu-jitsu Aurora!!

I've been training at GJJ for a little over a month and can't recommend it enough! The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and create a welcoming environment for students of all skill levels. The classes are well-structured, challenging, and focus on technique over intimidation. I've seen significant improvement in my skills and conditioning since joining. It’s nice that I’m able to start putting the pieces together after just a month. What sets GJJ apart is the strong sense of community. From beginners to advanced practitioners, everyone supports and encourages each other. I really love working with a wide range of individuals because everyone brings something different. All of the instructors bring exceptional experiences , providing personalized attention and expert guidance. The schedule provides different instructors for each day and they all bring great expertise for each class. I personally go twice a week but, you can go once a week or more depending on your budget and schedule. If you're looking for a professional, supportive, and results-driven jiu-jitsu studio, GJJ is the place to be! They even offer a 10 day free trial to see if it’s the place for you. The way I actually decided to give them a go was a free seminar they put on. Couldn’t recommend it enough and I’m extremely happy I joined.

Top of the line experience! I was visiting Denver for work and dropped into a master cycle and sparring session. I believe the instructor's name was Francis and he did a wonderful job teaching. Not only was the methodology similar to other CTCs I have visited, but he was clearly as experienced at teaching as he was grappling. After the lesson, we had a 30 minute block of sparring, and everyone I rolled with and observed seemed controlled and disciplined. Even while the other instructor Tyler submitted me several times, I never felt like my health was at risk. Additionally, he clearly "gave" me opportunities to try and work some things so I was able to absorb and learn, and not just get smashed by a people belt. Before and after classes, many of the other members came over and introduced themselves. I felt welcomed from start to finish. As far as facilities go, it was very nice. The lobby had a cool display of vintage articles/ magazine covers of different Jiujitsu practitioners. The main area has nice mats, and they had a sort of "foot bath" process for folks to use prior to entering, which I've never seen before. Pretty cool. My only regret is that I was unable to attend more classes and I forgot to get a picture, which had become my new tradition when visiting CTCs. This is the fourth CTC I've visited in about 2 years and they have all been great. Thank you GJJ Aurora! I will be back next time I'm in the Denver area.

I have been a part of the Women's Empowered program for many months and can not sing their praises enough for their knowledge and support, as well as the inclusive environment they create. Coaches Lucy and Tanya take the time to ensure that everyone is practicing with proper technique and doing it safely. There are ladies ages 12 to 70+, all body types, and everyone is welcomed and equal. My child is also in the Bully Proof program, and coaches Ethan and Cora are fantastic at explaining the items at the childrens level. The techniques they teach anyone can perform as it doesn't require a lot of muscle tone. It relies primarily on bone structure and leverage. If you're remotely interested, drop in for the free trial and check it out!
I've been training here for 7 months now, and I absolutely love it. The professors and coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to explain techniques thoroughly. They're great at demonstrating and making sure everyone understands. The training peers are also very supportive; whenever you're unsure, they're always willing to help and explain things.
My daughter has been going here for 4 years and loves it! She started in the Bully Proof class and worked her way up. Everyone is very accepting, and professional.

GJJA has been an amazing experience for our whole family. Our children are in the Bullyproof program and they are encouraged, challenged and respected. The environment is comfortable, open and friendly. My partner and I do the combatives course and I cannot say enough good things about it. I never thought I would be interested in BJJ, but the manner in which they teach it here is approachable and safe. The instructors are absolutely top notch and the standards and consistency of training are extremely high.

I was a guest here for only one night because I was visiting from Southern California and wanted to check out another Gracie certified training center. Gracie, Jiu Jitsu Aurora treated me like family and welcomed me with open arms. Francis was the main instructor for the night and he did an awesome job of leading the class, I definitely had a ton of fun and stayed after for some really good roles with some really chill people. I would definitely recommend Gracie jujitsu Aurora and if I have to come back to the Denver area for work again, I will definitely stop by.

My husband and my daughter's and I have been coming to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Aurora for over 2 years now. We love every aspect of this gym. From the coaches to the training and everything inbetween. Absolutely love my Women Empowered class! The instructors, Coach Catherine and Coach Lucy are fabulous: personable, relatable, and encouraging. I was nervous about signing up - BJJ seemed so far outside my comfort zone! Instead I found a tremendously positive group who cheer and help each other to do their best. Being part of this class helped break the stereotype I held about martial arts, and being around all women has helped to ease me into the sport. I appreciate BJJ as both an art form as well as an intellectual challenge and can happily say that this is my new win every week!
After training here for just over a year now, I continue to enthusiastically recommend GJJA. In addition to getting a solid introduction to GJJ in a safe and supportive environment of the Women Empowered program, I'm continuing my journey in the co-ed Combatives program. Additionally, my 10-year son is learning and training in the Jr. Grapplers program. My jiu-jitsu skills have greatly improved since becoming a student at this school. My kids started with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu just over a month ago. They love going! the coaches are amazing. I have a kiddo in the littles class and one in the 8-12 year old. Both are for Bully Proof. My one son is very shy, he is starting to come out of his bubble. My other son it is helping with discipline. I love there text line, they keep us update if there is snow, and there app with what is being taught this week. Very nice people, great atmosphere, and great prices!

Brought my daughter here for the first time about a year ago after she expressed an interest in learning a martial art, but not wanting to join her brothers in Tae Kwon Do. She's been a regular here for the women empowered class ever since, amd wants to move on the Combatives class when she completes the WE class. She truly enjoys the classes, the instructors, and the other women in the class as well. The staff are great, knowledgeable and helpful to answer questions, and are patient enough to help teach the techniques for those times when a student may need more practice. My daughter feels more confident about herself, and her ability to get out of a situation if one were to arise. She invited her friend to come along as well who also joined, so there is definately something for then both here for them to learn and grow.

While searching for Jiu-Jitsu classes, I came across Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora and enlisted in their Women Empowered program and I am so happy that I did! Coach Catherine, Lucinda, and Tanya have all been amazing in providing a warm and welcoming environment. Jiu-Jitsu can be intimidating for many first-starters, however, I hardly feel like one. I’m a 33 year old mom of 2 and have never taken a Jiu Jitsu class in my life. I recently joined the Women Empowered class and absolutely LOVED it! It is a safe place to practice Jiu Jitsu and ask questions. Coach Tanya, Luci, and Catherine are great and make the class fun and easy to understand. So if you are thinking of taking the Women Empowered class DO IT! You won’t regret it.
I recently started going to the Women's Empowered course and it is awesome. Coach Lucy, Coach Catherine, and Coach Tanya create a really fun and comfortable atmosphere to learn and practice the skills. I had been to a couple of other Jiu-Jitsu classes elsewhere, and while they were fun, they weren't nearly as welcoming and comfortable as this Women's Empower course at Gracie. Every time I leave, I can't wait to go back!
GJJ Aurora has a learning-oriented atmosphere. The instructors give a thorough explanation of every move that they teach, I never felt rushed to learn quickly, and I was able to practice until the self-defence felt more intuitive. I appreciate that the instructors repeatedly emphasize using mechanical strength over raw muscular strength. They help prepare you to defend against a bigger, stronger opponent using technique and skill. Especially in the Combatives program, it's cool how the moves you learn are tailored to be "street-ready" so you don't inadvertently injure yourself.
This gym is great! The culture is welcoming and the knowledge base of the instructors is extraordinary. As a martial arts school owner myself I've come to appreciate all of the small details and courtesies of a great school, and this school has all of the bases covered. I've been taking private lessons with Prof. Tony Debelak, and value him as my GJJ/BJJ coach. Highly recommended.
By far the best Jiu Jitsu school I’ve ever been to. The women empowered program has really taught me the technical aspect of being able to defend myself against a bigger and stronger opponent on the streets. The coaches are also really awesome and helpful!

10 out of 10 would recommend, Tony and his crew have stuck to the core of foundational training. I feel confident in the program and my progress as it’s very obvious they know what they are doing. We learn slow but very effective and that results in less injury as opposed to other places. And as a veteran this place really helps me find some peace and release of stress. The community is great and there is plenty of opportunity to connect with others.They also work with other programs for veterans to help you get into the training and the collaboration is truly respectable.
Self-defense first and foremost mindset. They have all the classes: Women Empowered, Kids BJJ classes, Adult classes for beginners and Masters Classes. Professor Tony, Tanya, Cora and all the coaches are top notch. My kids and I train here and its worth the drive from Littleton. I have been attending Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora for about 3 years and have found the experience to be outstanding. Every lesson is like practicing with family. Everyone from the coaching staff through the participants are all extremely supportive and encouraging. I have no problem sharing that I am over 70 years old and still have a great time practicing and sparing with everyone in class. I would highly recommend joining this group of good folks regardless of your age. It's easy for me to say that the more you participate, the richer the experience.

Her instructors are kind and caring. They want her and every student who attends to excel. I am impressed with her confidence and desire to become stronger and continue learning the sport. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has been a great experience and I would encourage anyone thinking about it, to give it a try.
My husband has been taking Jiu-Jitsu classes for almost a year, at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora. As a child, he was an avid participant in the martial arts and always wanted to get back to it. Through the We Defy Foundation, an opportunity presented itself and he jumped at the chance! It's been very challenging, but that's right down his alley. As a combat disabled veteran, he struggles with many mental and physical obstacles. However, this program has done wonders for his well-being! He comes home excited and proud of his accomplishments, at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora! We've been married for 33 wonderful years, so I know him very well. With that being said, I know what makes him happy. He loves being a grandpa and being a good Christian man for his friends and family. He's also happiest when he's physically active. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora is paramount to his health journey! Thank you so much for playing an integral role in my husband's success!
My nephew Aslan Silvia goes to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora. I have noticed a big change in Aslan since he began attending classes here. He has always been a good kid but not very confident and always so soft spoken . The skills and encouraging talks have given a confidence that is priceless. The coaches are very good with there students and believe in mutual respect.
