I walked in the first day not knowing anyone in the gym, or anything about BJJ. I was introduced by a colleague in Phoenix that goes to GB there. Upon arrival, Coach Austin suited me up, shared just enough to get me through the class without worry of performance, and he taught me how to fit in quickly by respecting the etiquette and teammates. The Professors had just moved to KC from Brazil this same week and although language was a challenge, they were immediate friends. They bring world class talent and accomplishment, and a culture of respect and taking care of every mate on the Mat. They are all about improvement on the mat and off. They run an amazing gym that technique is king, it’s intense but smiles are everywhere, and we take care of our own. I wish I had my daughters in with me, but at 51, I still don’t have the influence over them as I should! :) Very grateful GRACIE BARRA OP!

GBOP is a great and amazing place! Staff and coaches are amazing to on and off the mat. Great atmosphere for kids and adults just getting into the sport. I got my 5 year old enrolled as a way to have something special for me and him. He loves the time he gets to spend on the mat.

What an amazing gym! Professor Lucas and Professor Silvana are incredible teachers. They are kind and patient, and they have helped me build confidence as I have began to learn this life skill. I love that I can get a great workout in while having fun and learning something new. It has also improved my coordination! The community the gym provides is also wonderful, this place is filled with love and encouragement. I would recommend this place to everybody!

Amazing Gym with Expert Instructors! I’ve been training BJJ for more than 4 years including in Gracie Barra OVP in the last 1.5 years and I couldn’t be happier with my gym choice after moving to KS. The professors and coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and supportive, making every class a fantastic learning opportunity. The gym itself is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything you need for effective training. I must say one of the most important things I look for in a BJJ dojo is a friendly environment. In this gym, the professors and coaches maintain a perfect balance of friendly but competitive atmosphere where you find yourself thriving while having fun. Believe me you wouldn’t want to train somewhere you feel threatened. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner, Gracie Barra OVP offers a welcoming and inclusive environment that benefits to all skill levels!! If you don’t believe me, come visit with a free trial class and see it yourself. OSS!

I never knew Jiu-Jitsu could be that life-changing. Being over 50, this has changed my life. From barely being able to get off the ground to jumping up and rolling like a champ after just three months, it's incredible. Gracie Barra Overland Park, KS has superior instructors who break the sport down so you can easily follow. They only promote you when you're ready and qualified to advance to the next level, reducing the chance of injury. Come check it out and get stronger, more flexible, and learn how to fall, move, and regain your flexibility.
