I recently enrolled my son at Gracie Barra Brossard, and I highly recommend this school, its instructors, and their method of instruction. The owner, Professor Rodrigo Mendanha, and the instructors who teach under him, are extremely kind to the children and highly professional. The classes are run very smoothly, and the children are given plenty of opportunities to practice the specific techniques they learn in class during free sparring (rolling). There’s honestly not much they could do to make it a better experience for the kids. Highly recommended.

Gracie Barra Brossard is truly a special place! Professor Rodrigo, Fernanda, and their wonderful family are not only amazing instructors but also incredibly kind and genuine people who make everyone feel welcome. I’ve trained there many times, and every experience has been outstanding — from the high-quality instruction to the friendly, respectful atmosphere on the mats. The training partners are supportive and motivated, and the whole environment feels like one big family. You can really feel the passion and care they put into everything they do. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a warm, family-oriented setting!

I used to train and coach at Gracie Barra Brossard, and it’s an amazing place to learn Jiu-Jitsu. The gym is very clean, professional and focused on important values like respect, discipline, and resilience. The coaches are great, they care about helping everyone improve, no matter your level. It’s also a family-friendly place where you feel welcome from the first moment you walk in. People there support each other, and the environment is always positive. If you want to train, learn Jiu-Jitsu, and be part of a great community, Gracie Barra Brossard is the place to go!

To Future Gracie Barra Students, Please allow me to share my experience with this school. • I am a blue belt that has been training with Prof. Rodrigo for the last 2.5 years, I have certified as a Gracie Barra Instructor, primarily focused on kids, my son, 8 years old started on the same day as I did in the parents/kids class and now trains both gi and no GI classes. • We are at the school 6-7 hours / week. • From my experience, there is no better jujitsu school in Quebec, that provides a more complete martial arts experience. (Mind & Body) • Gracie Barra Brossard offers a balanced approach between gi/no gi and self-defence, all of which are equally important. • Prof. Rodrigo is simply one of the best in the industry and he has surrounded himself with Professors and Coaches, that embody the Gracie Barra principle of Jiujitsu for EVERYONE, by focusing on Brotherhood/Sisterhood, Integrity, and Development. CHILDREN ARE INSTRUCTED IN THE LATEST TECHNIQUES OVER A 16 WEEK CYCLE BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: 1. They understand the importance of discipline 2. Improve their confidence 3. This gym is amazing! The coaches are super knowledgeable and friendly, always taking the time to help everyone improve, no matter their level. The vibe here is really welcoming — it feels like training with family. It’s also a great place for kids and families, with fun classes that teach discipline and confidence in a positive way. The atmosphere is always upbeat and supportive, and you can tell everyone genuinely enjoys being here. I couldn’t recommend this place more!
