I’m about two months into training at Fenix BJJ, and I’ve had an awesome experience so far. Coach Ethan does a great job breaking things down in a way that makes sense, even if you’re brand new. The vibe is super friendly — the adult members are welcoming, supportive, and make training fun. The gym is clean, well-run, and you can tell there’s a real focus on both growth and community. I’m really glad I chose Fenix to start my BJJ journey.
Posted 1 year agoI can’t say enough great things about Fenix! My 15-year-old son has been training here for about a year, and the experience has been incredible. Ron, Ethan, and the entire team have helped him build real confidence, and the personal growth we’ve seen has been amazing. The coaches are top-notch—skilled, dedicated, and committed to creating a respectful, ego-free environment where everyone feels welcome, from complete beginners to BJJ veterans. It’s truly a community where people help each other grow. Seeing our once reserved and quiet son thrive—not just in his BJJ skills, but in how he carries himself—has been such a gift. He loves it here, and so do we. We’re incredibly grateful to have found Fenix!
Posted 1 year agoFenix BJJ in Tewksbury is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve tried multiple gyms in the area, but this is the first one that truly balances high-level competition with traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu values. The coaching is incredible—detailed, structured, and focused on real growth. The training is tough but supportive, and everyone pushes each other to get better. The team atmosphere is awesome, with skilled training partners who are welcoming but also ready to roll hard. If you’re serious about BJJ and want to train in a place that’s both challenging and rooted in tradition, this is it. Highly recommend!
Very nice!
Fenix is truly a special place. The coaches have done incredible job creating an environment that blends respect, openness and camaraderie with a competitive fighting spirit. Anyone who decides to join this gym themselves or enroll their kids and stick with it will drastically change their lives for the better!
Fenix Jiu-Jitsu: Discipline, Focus, and Transformation The name Fenix Jiu-Jitsu embodies what this place is all about: discipline and focus. After a year at another school where my daughter and son saw little improvement and were sent to competitions unprepared, they were on the verge of giving up on Jiu Jitsu entirely. It was my sister, a black belt who has known Ronaldo, the owner, for many years, who recommended we try Fenix. What a game-changer that decision was. In just seven months at Fenix, my kids have not only regained their love for Jiu Jitsu but have also made remarkable progress. The classes here are 40 minutes long, which initially seemed short compared to our previous experience. However, those 40 minutes are packed with intensity and focus, every moment is utilized to its fullest potential. Ronaldo and all the instructors at Fenix are kind but uncompromising when it comes to the rules of the school and the true essence of Jiu Jitsu. They teach with clarity and precision, ensuring that every child understands not just the techniques but the values behind them. The result? My kids are learning real Jiu Jitsu, and they are thriving. Fenix Jiu Jitsu has transformed my children’s experience in this martial art, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you want your kids to learn, grow, and truly excel, this is the place to be.
Fenix is a great gym. I joined along with my son who is the is in the kids classes twice a week and loves it. The instructors are very knowledgeable and it’s a very welcoming BJJ community. Learning Jiu Jitsu instills confidence in my son that will stay with him throughout his life. It is also a bonding experience for the both of us. I highly recommend for kids in adults alike.
Sometimes with niche sports there is a level of “gatekeeping” that comes with it. Not here. Everyone, coaches and members are extremely welcoming. So if you’re looking to get into bjj and want a positive environment, this is the place for you. Also, great facility, very clean, and tons of space to work out or attend classes. Can’t recommend this place enough
Training for almost 2 years now. Can’t recommend this place enough. All the coaches, especially Ron, Gi, Ethan, and Derek, are really incredible. Great experience all around: lost weight, very fit and in shape, and the lessons learned through mental fortitude can be carried outside the mat.
If you're thinking about starting BJJ then start here! Fenix has amazing instructors, a welcoming atmosphere, and you'll train with some of the coolest people you've ever met. You'll end up wishing you started sooner.
It’s been nearly a year since I began at Fenix BJJ, and I must say, this place is top-notch! The coaches and training partners have been fantastic, helping me grow and improve. Their comprehensive schedule fits perfectly into any routine. Training here during my college days was the best way to unwind after intense lectures. Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, their programs are superb. Since I started, the quality of training has been consistently awesome. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for quality BJJ training!
I had been wanting to give BJJ a go for years, and I couldn’t be happier that I made the choice to join Fenix. Phenomenal coaches, and phenomenal teammates come together to make an awesome environment to train. If you’re on the fence about starting your training journey, just do it. Sign up for that trial class. Get hooked, and then we can have that “I should have started 10 years ago” conversation.
I originally signed up for Fenix for the sole purpose of losing weight and getting into better shape. Not only did I achieve those goals, I more importantly grew to love and appreciate the art of what Jiu Jitsu really is thanks to all the helpful coaches and members at Fenix BJJ. The amount of support from everyone at this gym is truly astounding and I look forward to learning more...and you should to! I highly recommend. Oss!
Fenix is an awesome gym and a great place to train. The gym and coaches are extremely welcoming. Training there has been an great experience. Every class is a great workout. The atmosphere of every class is positive and the coaches/ other students are a wealth of knowledge. Your teammates and coaches continuously push you to improve. I couldn’t ask for a better place or people to train with.
I recently joined this jiu-jitsu gym, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly patient and dedicated to helping students improve. The gym is clean and well-maintained, and they offer a variety of classes for all skill levels. Highly recommended
Fenix has been an integral part of my life for the past 3+ years. I couldn't imagine a better gym and BJJ family to be apart of. BJJ has helped me at my job along with my physical and mental health. Can't thank the coaches and training partners enough for bringing me in and making me a part of their family. I would highly recommend Fenix to anyone looking to get into or continue their BJJ journey.
I started jiu jitsu with Fenix about 7 months ago and it’s been great. Coaches are very thorough and knowledgeable. I feel i have learned a lot in a short amount of time. And they have fantastic children’s classes that my 5 year old son has started training as well. He loves it just as much as I do! Great atmosphere and great gym.

I had an amazing time the past weekend at Fenix Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Woburn!! It was a two-hour drive away from my home, into the serenity of the woods of Maine! I was down there to celebrate my 30th birthday, and I called around to try and find the perfect place. Well, I was pleased to find a lovely group of people at this place who made me feel like I was part of the family! I would highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a great roll. Just remember to bring your bathroom shoes, a $25 drop in fee, and your most cheerful smile! Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly, and I’m sure you’ll have an equally positive experience as I did when I visited. The gym is conveniently located and offers a great atmosphere to learn and practice jiu jitsu. If you’re ever in the area, I suggest stopping by to give it a try! It’s definitely worth checking out. You’ll be surrounded by a great group of people and have an unforgettable experience.
Fenix is a fantastic gym: excellent instructors with lots of both beginner and advanced students; an incredibly friendly and welcoming atmosphere; and an excellent, clean facility with two large mat areas, a weight-lifting area, and two changing rooms (one women's, one men's) with a shower in each. I can't say enough good things about my experiences here over the last few years.
Here I get the sense of community just like I do in the military. Very healthy and encouraging culture. Coaches are humble and highly skilled. I’ve been only training for 2 months and I have improved a lot than I thought I would in such a short period of time. Absolutely loving Jiu Jitsu. Recommended to anyone who want to learn self-defense and stay physically active. Phenomenal school!
My 8 yr old son has been attending lessons at Fenix BJJ for over a year and is still just as in love. My daughter (6) recently started in Tiny Sharks and loves it as well. One of the best things about BJJ is the feeling of community the coaches create and how they instill kindness, grit, and the importance of being a respectful teammate. Being a Fenix BJJ kid really addresses the whole-child: mind and body. My son gets the competitive workout he thrives in and my daughter gets self confidence and coping skills out of the same program. I cannot recommend enough Colleen and her coaches at BJJ!!
I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training at Fenix with Coach Ron about a year ago and I couldn’t have found a better gym or trainer. Walking into a martial arts gym can be a little intimidating, but the trainers and students were incredibly welcoming. The coaches are especially skilled at teaching you the technical aspects of jiu jitsu and they take the time to really explain or demonstrate any questions you may have about a specific technique in a way that helps you develop the mental and physical strength necessary for mastering the skills to advance and grow in your training. Fenix’s atmosphere promotes learning by providing multiple classes a week for all levels, be it beginners or advanced, even teaching defense tactics and control for police officers. At the end of the day, Jiu Jitsu has this way of bonding everyone together; on and off the mat and in less than a year, I have developed strong lasting friendships and choosing to train at Fenix was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself with every class bringing me one step closer towards my goals. If you are considering training Jiu Jitsu, Fenix tops them all.
Fenix is an incredible place to train BJJ. Wether you’re someone who’s looking to just get active and learn something new, or a competitor. It’s the highlight of my week any time I get on the mats at Fenix. Cannot recommend this school enough!!
I have been training at Fenix for a little over a year now and I have absolutely loved every second of it! The coaches here are amazing and take in interest in each and every one of their students. They truly want to make sure you continue to grow and improve throughout your training. Fenix also has some of the most amazing teammates and training partners you could ask for! It is not uncommon for me to be one of the only females in a class, but I have never once felt uncomfortable or out of place. Everyone has always made me feel safe, welcome and included. If you have ever been interested in starting BJJ I could not recommend Fenix enough =)
My son has been going to Fenix Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for almost an year and has been progressing quite well in terms of learning combat and discipline. The coaches are friendly but make sure kids follow the discipline too. The classes are regular, groups are small enough to focus on each kids development. They teach the kids combats along with team games. There is a nice sitting area from where you can watch your kids. We love the facility.
I was hesitant to jump into BJJ, but Fenix was the best place I could have started. Everyone here is extremely respectful and I highly recommend this gym. Super welcoming environment for women, men, and people of all ages. I have learned something from everyone (whether I’m rolling with them or even if I’m just observing others). My time here keeps me physically & mentally fit.
I started and Fenix Woburn about two years ago at 30 years old. It is a great environment to train filled with very skilled coaches and students who are willing to help out and have very quickly become good friends. It’s a great way to stay in shape for my career in the fire service as well as learn a new useful skill. As a former college athlete I have spent time on many different teams and in many different locker rooms and I have to say the environment and culture at this school that Coach Ron has created is second to none. The coaches are very skilled and the higher belt students are always more than happy to help with any questions I might have. I have also competed for the school in a few tournaments and I have to say I’m very impressed with how well prepared I was as well as how invested in my matches coach Ron and the other coaches were even as a beginner. Wether you want to learn and train jui jitsu, stay in shape and meet some great people doing it, or you are looking to compete I cannot recommend this school enough. Walking through the doors to Fenix Woburn for the first time was one of the best things I’ve done for myself in a long time.
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Fenix! Simply the best BJJ academy in the New England area. Coach Ron is a phenomenal instructor and welcomes everyone with open arms. If you are looking for the most detailed and comprehensive approach to learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, this is the place for you. I am proud to be part of such an amazing team and would recommend this gym to anyone (no matter their skill level). If you are interested in learning this life-changing martial art, look no further!
My daughter started last year when she was 7 and it is amazing to see how much she has gained in strength, confidence and skill since then. Coach Ron and his team are fantastic and foster the perfect blend of discipline and fun. It is so great to watch the higher skilled students being patient and working the newer students to make sure they can master a certain skill. When anyone advances the whole class is truly is happy and excited for their achievement as they know how much work goes into it. We are so fortunate to be part of the Fenix family.
Started BJJ at 34 years old. For those who are on the fence and need that one last push, please take my experience into account. I could not have been more fortunate to find Fenix as my gym. I stepped into Fenix on the first day with a sense of insecurity and zero understanding to the importance of physically and mentally pushing myself to take on such a challenging and rewarding adventure. Fast forward a year, I walk around with a confidence I didn't have before, I am less frustrated with the stresses of life and most importantly I am happy. While the personal gains of BJJ are important, you need to train at a place that is willing to invest and guide your growth. The atmosphere at the gym positve, friendly and competitive all at the same time. Never at any point did i worry that someone was going to hurt me, everyone looks out for everyone. Finally, Fenix's teachers. The experience that comes from this group would be hard to match. These guys are absolutely phenomenal at what they do, they have one goal, and that's to ensure you get better every class. One final note, the second my son is of age. He will be going to Fenix. The first step is on you, because once you step into the Fenix gym you won't want to leave.
Jiu-jitsu & Community: I have two children attending Fenix BJJ academy. One is a teen and does the adult class and the other attends the children’s class. Both my kids have been doing jiu-jitsu for about 5 years, and we have been attending Fenix BJJ for over 6 months now. Coach Ron, and the entire bench of coaches are really amazing. The culture of the academy is to learn and teach, and this goes down to the students as well. There is an emphasis on learning proper techniques, an additionally having the right mindset and character development. Overall, just a really, really positive learning and encouraging environment on the mat. Also, the office staff is really helpful as well. In addition to a positive learning on the mat, there is an emphasis on community as well. Be it tournaments, or parents’ night out, or other gathering for the families attending the academy. Both my kids love attending the academy.
Great instructors, friendly atmosphere
My daughter shared an interest in wanting to explore Jiu Jitsu. Well, we came to the right place. She has built her skill base, determination, resilience and discipline. At Fenix, she has experienced closely supervised time on the mat. The coaches and owners are completely passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and you can see they take pride in showing their students while on the mat. Welcome to the family, Fenix; you're going to be seeing a lot of us!!
My kids were on the mat and "rolling" on day one. The coaches are serious about the instruction but also kind, safety conscious and keen on making practice fun so that the kids want to keep coming back. They've also been creative about incentives and recognizing achievement more frequently than graduation to the next belt. This gives the kids something they can shoot for that works within the scope of a child's time frame. Fenix also does not lock you into long-term plans. Highly recommended.
Absolutely loved visiting Fenix BJJ! I just planned to drop off flyers for American Grappling Federation but I ended up getting invited out to roll with their team. I appreciate their kindness and generosity while being in boston!
Absolutely the best school in town , without a doubt. Couldn't have asked for a better school, coaches and training partners to start my Jiu Jitsu journey with. All the coaches, staff and training partners are incredibly talented, welcoming, friendly (rather they're like family) and most importantly respectful of everyone training. The coaches here teach you to hone your strengths while working around your weaknesses to help you develop the type of jiu jitsu that works for you best. 5/5, 10/10,100/100 would recommend it. Also check out the sister school @Tewksbury OSS!
I have been training at Fenix BJJ for almost 2 years now and lost almost 50 pounds since I joined. This school has made training and getting into shape one of the most fun experiences ever due to the quality of coaches, training partners and facility. The coaches and experienced students are always happy to give detailed advice on how to improve. I am very proud of being part of the Fenix family and could not ask for a better school to start my BJJ journey. OSS!
A great place to train bjj! They have a large, clean facility, high quality instruction, and friendly and skilled training partners.
Excellent Studio, would highly recommend. Coach Ron is near perfect.
Nice place, great people, wonderful coaches.
I highly recommend Fenix Ju jitsu. I have twin sons that started here when they were about 6 years old. They are now 8. The coaches are fantastic. I can’t say enough great things about owner and coach Ronaldo Campos. He and his team of coaches including Ethan Chris and Coach Chase have been amazing. The facility s very clean. My boys have the option of attending three days a week for about an hour. They love going. They have met some really great kids in the group. Ju Jitsu has been such a wonderful skill for the boys to learn how to protect themselves and others. The class is made up of Boys amd Girls of different skill level. The achievements are truly earned and not given. If your looking for an outlet to help your children learn discipline, respect, and hard work Fenix is the place. I will have a third son joining before long. Sign up and don’t look back. Your youngsters will learn life skills in a welcoming fun and demanding environment.
I have been training at fenix for 2.5 years the instructors as well as the members are knowledgeable professional and passionate about jiu jitsu. If you are just starting BJJ or visiting the area and looking for a place to train I would highly recommend Fenix BJJ
Absolutely the best place I would’ve envisioned starting my Jiu-Jitsu journey. Fenix is a tremendous mix of authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques, teachers, training partners and friends. Above all else, hanging with the guys and gals from gym is like spending time with family. One thing is for sure, Fenix Woburn always does a brilliant job of making you want to come back and train tomorrow!
My second home is on the mats at Fenix BJJ. Awesome instruction, great teammates and clean mates. Come checks us out!
Excellent instructors in a great learning environment
I traveled to the Boston area for the week from Pittsburgh and was so happy that I found this place. Everyone there is very welcoming and knowledgeable. There is a good mixture of skill levels and training partners that allows for a good workout.
I’ve always been slightly skeptical of reviews online, especially when the reviewer is biased of the product/facility. With that being said, we hit the jackpot with this gym! I was looking for an activity I could share with my six year old that didn’t involve electronics (I’m sure many parents out there can relate). Coach Ron, Ethan and Chris are incredible with the kids, and have an amazing talent of delivering expertise instruction that’s productive and fun. Sure the facility is great, clean, spacious, with all amenities you need…..however I can not express enough the “great vibes” I get from this place! Fellow students, regardless of experience or stature are the most welcoming and friendly people you could ever meet. I look forward to the many years of training and personal growth my son and I will no doubt experience here!
Clean facility, welcoming environment and great instruction!
When looking for good jiu jitsu schools, Fenix is the only one you will need. I worked out here for close to 2 years and never had a dull day and was always amazed by how professional and nice the staff are (kudos Ethan) and how great of people the others who go are. I cannot recommend Fenix enough, if you want a place where everyone is patient and willing to teach and still safe, this is the place for you. 6/5 stars.
I have been training at Fenix BJJ in Woburn for about a year now. It is easily one of the best experiences I've had. Everyone is so welcoming. It can seem intimidating joining a new gym, especially if you have never trained BJJ before. The instructors like Ron, Chris, and Chase do a great job of getting the most out of their students - from beginners to very experienced people. Everyone who trains there is so gracious with helping you develop. There are no egos. Everyone is very nice, yet pushes you to improve. Whether you are a beginner or experienced trainer, this is a great gym. The kids in the kids classes always seem to have a blast. Whether male or female, young or old, it is a great place to train!
Awesome teachers who are great with kids
When moving to the area after beginning my BJJ training at another gym, I needed to find a new place to call home. I went to many local academies to get a feel for the instruction, coaching, gym culture, and cleanliness and found that Fenix has a spirit that is not often found in the BJJ world. Fenix exceeded all my expectations, and I am proud to wear their insignia as I continue my journey. Come join us on the mats!
Coach Ron was awesome. His delivery of tactics was simple and concise. Coach Ron would explain what we were doing and why we were doing it which I feel is extremely important when learning something. Despite his vast knowledge and skill coach Ron was very humble which made the experience pleasant.
Training at Fenix with Coach Ron was a great opportunity and I’d recommend it to anyone, especially LEO’s. Practicing and developing new skills and techniques makes me me feel more confident in my ability to stay alive on the street. Definitely looking forward to more training with Coach Ron at the Fenix!
This place is by far the best school I've trained at and I've been to many. Nice, calm, relaxed atmosphere with great coaches. My 4 year old son is also here and I would highly recommend Fenix to all parents looking for a great jiu jitsu school with great people.
I’ve done Judo for 20+ years. Fenix BJJ is high level jujitsu instruction for all ages in a family oriented facility.
Visiting the area and dropped in at Fenix BJJ for a no gi class and open mat - this is a fantastic facility. Great, detailed instruction, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Everything was clean, and as a plus they have a women's changing room and shower. Thanks so much for the tough rolls, looking forward to next time!
Phenomenal place to train on so many levels! Great facilities, fantastic instruction, skilled training partners, and positive social environment. There is truly something for everyone at Fenix; from various age groups, professions, and goals. In the same night, you could train with a top level competitor or a part-time hobbyist looking to have fun. Where Fenix excels in particular, is in its ability to not show any preferential treatment in terms of the level of attention, instruction, and respect provided to their different types of students. Many other schools can produce great competitors, but often fail at addressing the needs of those outside of active competition. If you want to get in shape, Fenix has an abundance of before-and-after success stories of members getting fit and improving their quality of life. If being a World Champion is your goal, you can work alongside the actual World Champion competitors at Fenix who have done it and can help you get there together (everyone supports everyone here). Whatever your goals may be, I can say with certainty that Fenix has a place for anyone who walks in the door and all are welcome!
Ive been training at Fenix for a little over 2 months and I love it here! Ive been doing Jiu Jitsu for a couple of years and I’ve been to many different gyms. Fenix has definitely been one of the best, which is why I decided to join their team. They have a great environment and made me feel at home since day one. You can tell the coaches have many years of experience in teaching, competing, etc and that makes all the difference. The gym is also very well taken care of and very spacious with extra mat space and workout area. This is a great place for kids, adults, and women to start training! 😁
We have two children in the Little Warriors program. Both have become more confident in themselves because of this program and have learned so much from these coaches. Just to list a few: - teamwork - respect - winning is great but losing can teach you something too - everyone learns at their own pace and it doesn’t make them better or worse than someone else Great program, great people - one of the best things our children have ever participated in!!
Great place to train! I started three months ago and I'm loving it. Everyone has been super welcoming and the coaches have been great about helping tailor the training for everyone, young or old, athletes or those of us right off the couch.
Fenix is a family more than it is a gym. From the second I joined, I was welcomed by everyone, coaches AND students, and was immediately treated as if I was a member all along. I was nervous joining because i didn’t know anyone and it was new to me, but that anxiety dissipated almost instantly. The coaches are the most genuine individuals you’ll ever meet. This isn’t just a paycheck for them, it’s their passion. The classes are comprehensive and easy to learn, catering to both people that have never stepped foot on a mat and those that are seasoned veterans. The coaches make it a point to explain a technique as many times as necessary so that everyone understands. That type of patience can’t be taught or faked. Joining fenix was the best decision I’ve ever made. I love this family.
I've been training at Fenix for about 2 months now and have loved every second I step foot into the gym. Coach Ron creates a fantastic learning environment and all the coaches are top notch and highly skilled. The fellow members are an incredible group of people that are very welcoming, willing to help, and all have hard work ethnic. If you are looking for a great gym to join and train hard, this is your gym.
Fenix has been a great experience for me. If you are looking to do something new and exciting while getting a great workout please come try Fenix BJJ. Everyone there, coaches and students, are extremely friendly and helpful. I know doing something different is not easy and can be uncomfortable at first but those nerves dissolve quicker than you would think thanks to the amazing group of people here. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance. Oss.
I’ve been bringing my son over to Fenix for a year now and I’m very happy I did so. A friend of mine had recommended taking a look at Fenix and I understand why. We were welcomed with open arms and I’ve seen my 6 year old son flourish over the past year, he’s gained confidence, his attention span has gotten better as he’s more focused. He enjoys the competition and has been made aware that working hard, attention to detail and discipline is what will help him continue to grow and get better. These are all life lessons that is money well spent. The coaches are very knowledgeable in their craft and more importantly extremely patient in teaching techniques to the kids. All of the coaches are excellent with the kids and very genuine, they take pride in seeing the individual growth. The place is extremely clean and well cared for. Overall, a great experience and absolutely worth checking out. Thank you Fenix!
I've been training at Fenix for over a year now and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. The atmosphere in the gym is great, I've found everyone to be kind and very helpful. The coaches are very knowledgeable and their attention to detail is extremely helpful. My fitness is the best it has ever been and I cant recommend the experience enough.
My first time training at Fenix Bjj of Woburn was when I was traveling for the Army and they were gracious enough to let me join the No-Gi class. They also let me stay for the open mat and I rolled with several people ranging from white to black belt. The students were technically sound and treated me as if I trained there all the time. I would recommend this as a place to train for someone just as leisure or trying to compete at a high level. The staff was very kind and courteous and the owner Ron is a consummate professional.
Excellent instruction within a family friendly environment with lots of schedule options. I have been training here for over 8 months alongside my 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter. I could not have ask for better instructors and mentors for my kids. They challenge the kids in class but also have a lot of fun along the way…there are always smiles on their faces at the end of class! For me, the instruction is top notch and my teammates are super friendly. I am pushed in every class by the coaches alongside a set of great teammates at all levels. I could not have picked a better place to train. Oss!
Absolutely love this Jiu-Jitsu gym. Started out brand new to Gi BJJ earlier this year and I love it. Lots of credit goes to the coaches as well as the rest of the team which quickly becomes family. If you're looking for a gym to learn the art of BJJ or looking to compete or even try something new this gym is perfect. Love this place. Oss.
I tried a few other introduction classes at other BJJ gyms but it only took one for Fenix Woburn to stick. From my first one on one lesson with Chase and talking to head coach Ron, I knew it was the place for me. It can be very overwhelming doing something completely new but all the members coaches welcome you right in and are constantly offering support and advice.
I’m a part of the Fenix BJJ family, I’m also a Green Beret Vet. I haven’t felt as close to a group like this since I was in the military. They are my extended family... with my time with them I Won double gold at the Boston Open compete by as a blue blue belt when in fact I’m actually a white belt... I won my division, then competed again in the open class and won gold there too! Thanks to the training and progressive techniques that are taught here everyday! Without consistency nothing is possible, this school makes you wanna go each and everyday with ease, and honestly I find myself counting the secs in the day till I can go train!!! I love my team, and encourage anyone interested in finding the final piece missing in your life, you couldn’t find a better school!
This isn't just a great facility with amazing coaches and training partners. This is a home for your tribe. I've met some of the kindest and most genuine people here, who I'm now lucky to call my friends. The coaches have fostered a great environment, where team and family have become synonymous. We help one another and we look out for each other. Jiu-jitsu is a great outlet and a great workout. It teaches you many lessons that not only apply on the mat but in everyday life. If you stick with it, you will get in better shape, your endurance will get better, you will be more humble, you will be kinder, you will have more confidence and you will develop more patience. Those are facts. Stay here long enough, you will also find a tight knit family bond. All in all, Jiu-jitsu will enhance your life, and this is the perfect place to get involved.
Welcoming place with knowledgeable and great coaches and students. Lots of fun.
A great learning environment taught by qualified passionate professionals who are always striving for improvement. From white belt to black belt a welcoming supportive team works together to help everyone improve. I wish I knew about this place years ago. I look forward to every day of training...
I’ve been training at Fenix for almost two years now. I honestly wish I had found the interest of training jiu jitsu years ago. Jiu Jitsu has trutly been an amazing journey in my life. Fenix Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great place to train this place has become my second home. The training the coaches provide are beyond excellent. Each class is very unique and the coaches make sure you understand every concept when explaining a move and everyone at Fenix is very respectful!
I have been training here for over three years, and this place has a very diverse atmosphere, offering classes from Brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai, wrestling, even a little bit of judo. The facility is very clean, and high quality. There are classes for all ages: kids, teens, and adults. The coaches are extremely knowledgable and able to transmit that information into clear lessons. Everyone in the gym is always helping and teaching each other so that every single person has the opportunity to improve. Being able to train with other Fenix members in other locations is a great benefit as well.
I've been part of the Fenix BJJ family for almost 3 years now and it's my second home. The coaches are excellent and extremely technical and higher ranked teammates are always willing to help out. Coach Ronaldo Campos has created an open and welcoming atmosphere to everyone of all backgrounds, orientations, shapes and sizes that walks through the door. Fenix also has a great group of women to train with. My teammates have become a second family to me and Jiu Jitsu has encouraged me to be healthier in other aspects of my life. Training at Fenix with excellent coaches and teammates has helped shaped me into being a better human. We need more of that in this world.
Deciding to join Fenix was one of the best decisions I've made. Everyone was extremely welcoming and acts like a family. It's not just about learning technique and skills on the mats. It's about growing as a person/team, and this place has really figured that out.
Excellence in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai!!!
I was looking for a challenge, something more interesting than the gym to stay active and fit. Some friends said I should try BJJ and recommended I check out Coach Ron and Fenix Woburn. I've been training here for about six months and I love it! It's a physical and mental challenge, and the coaches and team are great. When my kids are a little older, I'm planning to sign them up for classes too!
Whether you're trying to challenge your body differently or simply expanding your horizon, Fenix BJJ in Woburn is the place for you! Sure, yoga or soul cycle are the route most people choose, but why be the same? Whether you want to sweat and drop a few pounds or train competitively, Fenix BJJ in Woburn offers you both in a non-judgmental and safe environment. You will be pushed to your limits mentally and physically, and you will get better every day --- both on and off the mat. I've been training since last August or so and without a doubt Ji-Jitsu quickly pours into other parts of your life. Come check out what you're missing!
My boys have been going here for 3 years and the instructors have had such a positive impact on both of my kids. They have gained confidence and assertiveness thru the training they have received. The instructors do an amazing job teaching the young kids and have an incredible amount of patience. It's obvious they are passionate about their job. I would recommend this to anyone.
This is by far some of the best I have received when it comes to combative and MMA training. Coach Ronaldo and the Fenix team coaches are professional, skilled, and knowledgable. I recommend this training camp for anyone and everyone who wants to learn this art!
I've been to a few schools over the years and Fenix BJJ by far teaches technical Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu better than any other. The teachers and students are inclusive and supportive. Ego's get checked at the door. I have found that this is typical of a school that a significant number of students compete in tournaments and Fenix is no exception. Even if you don't compete there is really a feeling of "Team" at the gym. The atmosphere of Fenix BJJ is a direct reflection of Coach Ron. From beginner (white belt) classes that he personally teaches to a general respect for everyone who walks in the door, the attention to detail and inclusiveness comes from Coach Ron. If you are looking to study Jiu-Jitsu, you need to at least go to a class at Fenix BJJ. The technical ability, diversity of the students and general friendliness of the gym will make you want to go back.
Great environment! Plenty of training partners ranging from a day 1 beginner all the way up through black belts. So if you're new to jiu-jitsu or have prior experience, you will definitely have a training partner. Coach Ronaldo does a great job on breaking the classes down so that both his beginners and more experienced students can learn at their pace. A big plus is that I have yet to come across anyone with an ego on the mats, and I do not expect to either. Coach Ron and his staff are all extremely knowledgeable, experienced and patient. I'll definitely recommend and have recommended Fenix to anyone looking to train. Great place to train and learn.
Fenix is filled with experienced and knowledgeable instructors that are also warm and welcoming. The instructors are always eager to teach you and they'll work hard with you to refine your technique, all in a friendly manner. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu takes time and your progression through the sport is definitely earned, but it is well worth it if you are willing to put in the effort. If you have been thinking about trying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu even just a little bit, you should give it a shot. It's great for weight loss, great for confidence and you will notice it helping you in other parts of your live. You will be happy you came here.
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. That is exactly what you will get here at Fenix, true inspiration. Ron and the world class caliber coaches exercise mind, body, and soul. That is what you can expect when you come and join this extensive yet close knit family. You will be put to the test time and time again and you will come out a better version of yourself each time. Open atmosphere and warm smiles greet you at the door and determination and true inspiration are taken with you as you leave.
I recently had a highly disappointing experience with this jiu-jitsu place in Tewksbury. I got towed from their parking lot when the facility was closed, even though there was no one else around. It seems they were just waiting to call the tow company. The lack of proper signage is frustrating and misleading. It's ridiculous that a company would operate this way, prioritizing towing over clear communication with their patrons. This has left a very bad impression on me, and I hope they address this issue promptly.
