  My son absolutely loves this wrestling academy! Coach Boog, Coach Chris, and Coach Edwin are all amazing with the kids — they really know how to push them while still keeping it fun and positive. My son has learned so much, not just about wrestling technique, but also about discipline, respect, and confidence. I also train in the jiu-jitsu classes, and they’re top-notch. The coaching and atmosphere are both super welcoming and focused on real skill development. It’s awesome to see both of us progressing and enjoying it together. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great coaching and a great community!

  Both my boys love Effingham Combat Academy! The coaches are amazing, patient, and great with kids—especially my 3-year-old in Little Wrestlers. My oldest enjoys the Jiu-Jitsu class, and the location is super convenient. 10/10!

  I can’t say enough great things about Effingham Combat Academy. My 9-year-old daughter started training here, and it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made. From day one, the coaches have been incredibly welcoming, patient, and skilled at working with kids. They don’t just teach martial arts — they teach respect, confidence, and discipline. I’ve watched my daughter grow so much, both physically and mentally. She’s stronger, more focused, and walks with her head held higher. What really stands out is how much fun she has while learning. The instructors make every class challenging and engaging, and they’ve built a positive environment where kids feel supported and encouraged to do their best. Whether your child is looking for self-defense skills, a new hobby, or just a great place to build confidence, I highly recommend Effingham Combat Academy. It truly feels like a family.

  Review for Effingham Combat Academy Effingham Combat Academy has been an incredible experience for our family! Both of our kids — our 7-year-old daughter, Charlotte, and our 5-year-old son, Jackson — absolutely love being part of the program. From day one, the coaches and staff have created a welcoming, structured, and encouraging environment. The balance they strike between discipline and fun is truly impressive. Charlotte has gained so much confidence, focus, and resilience through her training. She comes home excited to show us what she's learned and is proud of every accomplishment. Jackson, who is full of energy, has really benefited from the positive outlet and the way the instructors guide him with patience and care. It's clear the coaches genuinely care about the kids' development, both on and off the mats. We couldn't be happier with the growth we've seen in both of them — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Effingham Combat Academy has become an important part of our weekly routine, and we’re so thankful for the values, discipline, and life skills it's instilling in our children. Highly recommend to any parents looking for a place where their kids can thrive!

  My son absolutely loves coming to this gym! The facility is always spotless — from the mats to the bathrooms, everything is well-maintained and clean. What really sets this place apart, though, are the coaches. They are incredibly welcoming, encouraging, and genuinely care about each student. From day one, they made my son feel like part of the team. We couldn’t be happier with our experience here!

  This place has an awesome layout, well equipped, top notch mats. It’s a real jewel located in Springfield right in the heart of Effingham County. A great place to train for the community. Martial Arts has been one of the best things I’ve chose to do in my life, beyond the punching, kicking, and grappling; learning discipline, developing confidence, and the reward of achievements from working hard remain some of my fondest memories. It’s also one of the most effective ways to get into exceptional shape! Martial arts is wonderful for kids, and you never too old to start. I hope to see you there!
