I’ve been training here for a little under two years and can honestly say it is one of the most welcoming, supportive, and accepting gyms I’ve ever been a part of. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and teach to each individuals level of experience. The other members are extremely welcoming, respectful, and kind. This gym promotes respect and kindness while also challenging the students to push past their own perceived limits. In short, it has been such a gift to train here and I encourage any who are curious to try it out.

I’ve been training at Eagle Rock Jiu Jitsu for about a year now, and it's been great. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are super passionate about BJJ. They provide great training for everyone, whether you're just starting out or have been doing this for a while. There's a perfect mix of challenge and support here. The vibe is super welcoming and inclusive, and there's a real sense of community. Everyone's friendly, respectful, and always willing to help each other get better. The instructors break down complex moves into simple steps, making sure you get the basics before moving on to more advanced stuff. This approach has seriously boosted my skills and confidence on the mat. Eagle Rock Jiu Jitsu is an awesome gym with top-notch training in a supportive and friendly environment, whether you're looking to start or continue your BJJ journey.

There are many Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms in Los Angeles, but Eagle Rock Jiu Jitsu Academy stands out for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly students and teachers, and exceptional training. My son and I have been training with Professor Raphael Carrao for a few years now, and we highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to start their Jiu Jitsu journey or sharpen their skills. They offer classes for all levels, from kids, adult beginners’ self defense, to advance competition. If you are looking for a smaller personalized gym experience, this is the right place for you.

Training here has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. The small gym environment paired with a world class coach & wonderful teammates makes for a wonderful training facility. Whether you're a new hobbyist, a grizzled competitor or a parent looking to keep your kid active, Haffa can help develop & sharpen your grappling skills.

Always a great time watching my son learn new skills at eagle rock Jiu-Jitsu academy. My son has been attending ERJJA for approximately a year and a half now and he loves it. Professor Rafael, professor James and coach Elijah are great instructors. They are patient, highly trained and skilled in jiu jitsu, and it shows consistently every session. My son (5yr old) has shown increased confidence, increased social skills, discipline, increased attention, increased compassion towards others, and love how honest he is, all thanks to Eagle rock Jiu-Jitsu academy. If you're thinking about trying out, you definitely should. First class is free.

I’ve known Professor Raphael for almost 13 years and can personally testify that his jiu jitsu game is incredibly elite. More importantly, he’s an amazing teacher who cares for his students and knows how to properly convey the important details of any techniques or concept. I highly recommend that anyone in LA looking to get started or improve their jiu jitsu should start training with Professor Raphael. Anytime I’m back home in California, I’ll be back at Eagle Rock Jiu-Jitsu to train!

This hidden gem is centrally located. I had the pleasure of seeing Raphael instructing members during a group session. Raphael is extremely focused on sharing his expertise to his students. We are hooked on this place!!! The rates for private and group lessons are very reasonable. This is worth looking into. Studio has a great vibe.
