Kaizen is an absolute game-changer for anyone serious about mastering the art of Jiu Jitsu. What sets this place apart is Axel himself – a coach who not only teaches technique but also inspires and empowers his students in ways that go beyond the mat. Axel's coaching style is a blend of expertise, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. He has an innate ability to break down complex moves into digestible steps, making even the most challenging techniques accessible to beginners like myself. But what truly sets him apart is his genuine investment in his students' progress. He takes the time to understand each individual's goals and challenges, providing personalized guidance and feedback every step of the way. Beyond his technical prowess, Axel's passion for Jiu Jitsu is contagious. His energy and dedication create an environment where students feel motivated to push their limits and strive for excellence. But perhaps what I admire most about Axel is his commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive community. He leads by example, instilling values of respect, discipline, and camaraderie in every class. If you're looking for more than just a gym, but a mentor and a community to support you every step of the way, look no further. I'm forever grateful for the impact Axel has had on my Jiu Jitsu journey, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

Can't say enough positive things about Kaizen BJJ, and specifically the head instructor Axel. I've been a student of Axel's for almost two and half years, and he is one of the most knowledgeable coaches around. And that's not just me saying that - when I've visited other gyms around the country, I've had students from those gyms tell me how awesome they thought Axel's classes were when they visited LA. He is constantly staying on top of the innovations in the sport, and does an amazing job of breaking down complex move sets into easy to understand steps that students of any skill level can execute. Aside from his BJJ acumen, what separates Axel apart as a coach is the investment he makes in his students. I've played competitive sports at almost every level imaginable, and it's rare to find coaches that will take an such active role in helping their players (or students) advance their skillsets. As an example, I competed in 3 BJJ tournaments as a white belt, and Axel went out his way to travel long distances to coach me every single time. He worked with me to craft personal "tournament" strategies that fit in with the current state of my game, which allowed me to train with greater focus leading up to those tournaments. I owe so much of my development to working with Axel. Whether your looking to try BJJ for the first time or an experienced practitioner, I highly recommend checking Kaizen & Axel out!

Axel is an incredible coach! He's extremely knowledgable about bjj, very detailed when teaching technique, and very very patient (which is important for someone relatively new like myself). It's also a great learning experience when rolling with Axel.
