I've been training at Defensive Kombat / Krav Maga - Tactical Mixed Martial Arts with Dean, and I can confidently say it's an incredible experience. Dean's knowledge is extensive, and the training is comprehensive, covering real-world self-defense scenarios in a way that is both practical and effective. What makes this place stand out is the supportive and disciplined training environment. The group training sessions are intense, yet the members push you to your limits without ever compromising safety. That level of trust built in training extends beyond the gym—you know you can rely on these people outside the training venue too. If you're looking for high-quality self-defense training in a welcoming and professional environment, I highly recommend Defensive Kombat!

I had been curious about Krav Maga to support well-being and confidence. From the introductory meeting after a quick call, Dean made me feel welcome and inspired me with his experience, knowledge and skills around the potential for Krav Maga for self defence. Both the PT and group classes are very well priced and presented, with opportunities for all levels to participate alongside each other. The friendly, inclusive, and supportive group environment highlights the respect and admiration members have for the art, and each other. Training with Dean and the Defensive Kombat team has brought many personal positives alongside skill development. Confidence, strength and stamina to name a few. It's worth making that call!

I've been attending Krav Maga group classes here for a few months now, and it's been a great experience. Dean is knowledgeable and the training is practical and engaging. I feel like I've gained confidence in my self-defense skills, and enjoy the different challenges each class brings.

Defensive Kombat / Krav Maga - Tactical Mix Martial Arts is a great. Instructor Dean is so well informed and inspiring. Firstly, it’s beginner friendly. I’m a beginner and I appreciate the friendliness of my fellow trainees and everyone leaves their egos at the door. Secondly, the training that’s being taught is next level serious stuff. My impression of this type of martial art is that it’s dirty and brutal, which is understandable when dealing with a life or death situation (knives and guns). Because of this the techniques being taught seem like they cannot be used in a competitive setting like a ring or octagon, the training is perfect for escaping street fights or for military and security personnel. Thank you Dean, I’m very impressed, see you again soon.

Was a past member around 2017 went there for about 6 month, only just started again mid november last year when out of the blue instructors Dean reach out to me asking when I'm going back to training and no excuses this time. Instructor Dean is thorough in his explanation, and his knowledge in martial arts are abundant. The group atmosphere are friendly and respectful, was worried how it's going to be back with new faces around. Training are repetitive but fun, repetitive in a sense to built up muscle memories. Knife and gun techniques, not gonna lie i was in awe the first time i saw it and it seems difficult to get used to. Only after Instructors Dean break it down to multiple steps, it's easy to learn. After coming back i was more amazed that some of the previous training and muscle memories are still there even after 7 years of no training. Definitely worth it to give it a go, even if the goal is just to stay fit.
