  Darkstar Jiu Jitsu has a very welcoming community with friendly members who are also safe training partners. The academy is professional, clean and conveniently located in the heart of Hastings town centre. They cater to children and adults of all levels of experience from recreational hobbyists through to competitors. Additionally, all instructors have enhanced DBS checks & safeguarding training (unfortunately, not all Jiu Jitsu gyms have this) A great place to train, have fun and make friends!

  Darkstar Jiu-Jitsu is an outstanding gym for the whole family. Professor Paul and Professor Ali are top-notch coaches with an incredible ability to teach Jiu-Jitsu to all levels — from beginners to advanced students. My family and I all train here, including my 8-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter, and the level of care, patience, and expertise they show with children is just as impressive as with adults. The environment is friendly, welcoming, and supportive, while still pushing you to improve and grow. If you’re looking for a place to train Jiu-Jitsu — whether for yourself or your kids — I couldn’t recommend Darkstar Jiu-Jitsu highly enough. Truly a brilliant team and community.

  Only in town a few days and was a very welcoming place. Really enjoyed the rolls and the class. Highly recommended, will be coming again when im next in town.

  Amazing place! Paul and Ali are so welcoming. The variety of skill of the people who come is vast, so great if you're new, or very experienced. And the brand new people all know how to roll safely. I don't even live in Hastings but I'll be back for sure

  I’ve been training at Darkstar for over 3 years and it’s been an amazing experience. I was extremely nervous before attending my first ever class but then within a few minutes I felt at complete ease. Paul and Ali make it such a welcoming club and I cannot recommend it enough!

  This review has been a long time coming. I have been training here for the last 18 months and its one of the best things ive ever done. The place is incredible. The amazing Professors Paul and Ali who are not only knowledgable but also supportive in your learning. And the people that train there are great and felt welcomed from the start, I have met alot of people I otherwise probably wouldnt have and as training partners and friends that help and push you I am very grateful. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu as a sport, a self defense or just a way to get away from the norm for a couple hours. You wont find anywhere better. 🤙

  I have been coming to darkstar for approximately 3 years now. By far the best decision I ever made, i was welcomed and made to feel at home by coaches Ali and Paul, they are amazing in their teaching methods for adults and children. The other students are also great and very friendly and have made some real life long friends among them. My daughter also come here and loves it. If your thinking to join or visit for yourself or your children this is the place!! 🙏

  I dropped by Darkstar while on a recent trip to the UK and I'm glad I did. It's a fantastic gym with excellent instruction. Students and staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I'd highly recommend checking them out if you're in the Hastings area.

  Paul and Ali are fantastic instructors! relaxed yet informative atmosphere. Lovely group of students at the gym. Both very competitive (if you want it to be) and fun gym.
