I travel for work and often drop into places to train bjj all over the country. I look forward to training here because the instructor has some great drills and techniques with plenty of one-on-one time. It's nearly across the street from the Hyatt so an easy walk.
Stopped by for a morning advanced class while in town visiting , some good technical drills followed up by some positional training rounds, great morning group, everyone was welcoming. Looking forward to coming back🤙

All levels are welcome and will have a great experience here whether it’s your very first day or you’re a long time black belt. Classes are run efficiently and you’ll learn a lot with as much depth as you care to explore, but Lemmy still makes sure the mood stays loose and fun. Clean facility, great location.

I was in town for work and called to drop in. They were super welcoming, the gym was clean and they had good mat cleanliness habits. They let me rent a fresh gi and drop in! Lemmy the instructor rolled with me a bit- he met me where I was and took it up a notch which was fun and a sign of a great teacher.
I dropped in out of state today and had an amazing time at their competition training class! If you’re ever in the area I highly recommend checking this gym out! Highly skilled and professional guys all over the mat!
I stopped in today, from out of town, and the place is great! I met the owner/lead instructor and he was very welcoming. Clean and modern facility. Great training and great people. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I will stop in again, when I return!
Awesome people, great instructions with lots of details that I was not aware of. Everyone gave me a hard time on the mat lol they are tough! Definitely showed me what I need to work on. I was visiting for work and they welcomed me to one of their classes and treated me well.
Dropped in during a work trip and really enjoyed it. Lemmy offered to loan me a gi at a reasonable rate. Friendly vibe, solid technique, and a substantial amount of training in a nice space.

Feels like Daisy Fresh 2.0. Lemmy and Courtney are a credit to -- and are doing a service for -- the community and Jiujitsu. The technical level of the training is something that would normally be reserved for intense schools that cost twice the price, but here it's available to and understandable by all. The skill & knowledge level to pricing ratio here is super favorable to the students...so noone needs to feel left out or priced out when they're looking for the best school -- and 2nd home at night-- to train at. This speaks to their knowledge of what makes a gym great, and to their desire to build something special solely out of their love for jiujitsu and their students. The average skill level is high, so it's obvious that the training is effective. The training is individualized, relaxed and open; so you have a lot of opportunity to practice live, ask questions, and feel part of the larger team. If you want a relaxed practice because you're sore, fat, or injured, you'll be accommodated. If you're hoping to challenge yourself and be thrown in to a pit with a bear, Lemmy can set that up too. Either way you'll leave with a sweaty smile on your face. So that you get to be a part of building something that is already special--but I'm certain will be way more special in the future--join now.

Lemmy is among the best coaches around. It's absolutely obvious that he is invested in the success and safety of his students. He has crafted a welcoming and extremely enjoyable environment. I walked into the gym a year ago not knowing anything about jiu-jitsu, and now I feel I've developed a hobby that I'm going to keep with me for the rest of my life.
Lemmy, thank you, bro. I have been training in JiuJitsu for over two and a half years. I suffered a pretty severe neck injury early on (in NY, not here) that kept me out of the game for a while. I have had the opportunity to train in six different schools (2 in NY, where I live, 4 in MN). What sets Lemmy and this CheckMat apart is his teaching style (rote learning with strategic positional live training) and Lemmy's enormous amount of patience. It's an incredibly effective method that enticed me to train for three of the seven days I was in town. I cannot thank Lemmy, Jose, and the rest of his students enough for the hospitality and the excellent training. It is truly a great school with great people. This would be my home spot if I didn't live in NY. Thanks again, guys!
Clean, friendly, top notch instruction, good vibes. Dropped in from out of town and was blown away by the welcoming environment. Good rolls for every level. I was especially impressed with how coach Lemmy opens up the floor for questions and about techniques we worked on and gives personalized feedback to make sure everyone understands the techniques. I will definitely be back 🙏🏻
I dropped in for a class while visiting family over the holidays. The instruction from Prof Lemmy was great and the rolls were tough but quality training. The mats and facilities are very clean. I’d highly recommend the gym and I’m looking forward to training here again next time I’m in MN.
Dropped in for a class around Christmas. Great instruction. Lemmy paid attention to my game and gave specific advice on the moves I was trying to pull. Will be back the next time I’m in town.

The instruction and class format is outstanding and it shows in the quality of the students. It's still pretty small and there aren't advanced training partners, but you'll still get solid training. The gym is friendly and welcoming so I'd definitely recommend stopping by.

Did a couple drop ins here while visiting for a weekend. Solid instructor and core group of guys that can offer upper belts some competitive rolls or introduce beginners to BJJ. New facility is nice and clean
