Chandler MMA

I am a father of a 13 year old girl and a 11 year old boy. I pulled my daughter and son out of soccer and baseball when they were not putting enough effort into their sports for them to get any real benefits. I put them in a Muay Thai gym in Tempe for nearly a year. Most of the time they would leave without any sweat on their face. I would watch my children half ass their workouts and have very sloppy technique. I brought this to the owners attention and was told they have to try harder if they want to learn. The classes were not cheap and I figured it is up to the instructor to set and maintain standards but that was not the case. I tried a free week at Chandler MMA and signed up. With the help of the instructors, they are pushed every class and are learning that they are capable of pushing themselves harder than they imagined. It was rough for them in the beginning but once they got over the nerves and fears, they now enjoy it. The owner Master McGowan and his wife Kara are very nice and personable. The instructors are dedicated, patient and knowledgeable. In my opinion this is what a MMA gym should be. Friendly, clean and professional. Highly recommend Chandler MMA.

Starting from zero knowledge, I attended 3 other various martial arts gyms in the valley before attending a free week trial at Chandler MMA. I've now been attending mostly Muay Thai and ju jitsu for 3 months and continue to enjoy this gym. Master McGowan is the real deal. He looks intimidating but he is also passionate, caring and his positive energy really drives you to do better and be better. Along with his wife Kara, they have created a welcoming place and employ a knowledgeable staff who share their traits across a broad range of martial arts. I like that they have both morning and evening classes to fit my schedule and the unlimited pricing is much better than some tiered plans; so I can attend as much or little as I'd like. From young to old, new to experienced, the training fits most every able bodied person. I'd recommend anyone try other gyms but I highly recommend you come in here for the free week before you make a decision.

I moved my daughter’s training to Chandler MMA from another Muay Thai facility , and I can honestly say it’s been a game-changer. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, no matter your experience level. The coaches are top-notch—knowledgeable, patient, and always pushing you to improve. The variety of classes they offer is amazing, covering everything from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Muay Thai, so there’s something for everyone. I’ve not only seen improvements in her skills but also in her fitness and overall confidence. If you’re looking for a place to train and grow, this is it! Highly recommend!

Just started taking my daughter here a couple of months ago. She really loves this place and I foresee her coming back for a long time. The gym is clean, the bathrooms are clean, all the staff is super friendly.

I love this place. The instructor and other instructors are incredible and very patient with all children, adults, and young adults, personalities. He is very effective with each of his students. And his wife who helps him manage the studio is always willing to help in any way. My grandson has been attending Chandler MMA for 5 years.
