My son trains here (little champions) and since the beginning the coaches have been nothing but amazing. They all have the patience of saints and are always making sure the kids are safely training. The lessons are catered for their age groups and there’s plenty of coaches for the kids to train effectively. They’re very understanding of wiggly children and their short attention span. About a month ago I ended up stuck in Phoenix for a day due to a flight delay and this gym happened to be walking distance from my hotel. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, the gym was clean, they even provided my friend and I with gis and the correct colored belts to wear. The people I got to roll with were world class. I would love to train here again one day and would absolutely recommend this gym. Thank you again for the hospitality!

My 7 year old son has been going for almost 2 years and he still loves it. We started him because he was having a lot of trouble getting distracted at school. It has been awesome to see how he has grown in his focus and ability to listen. The coaches have all been awesome with him and so patient with all the kids. Marcio and Brenda are amazing and it is clear how much passion they have for sharing their love of BJJ with the community. My husband just joined a couple weeks ago as well because he loved how they taught and the welcoming environment all the coaches have made.

The level of personal attention from the school’s exceptional black-belt instructors is unapparelled. I am now a 68-year-old purple belt, and this journey has been nothing short of amazing. I have never been in better shape in my entire life. My flexibility and mobility have improved dramatically. We traveled from Florida to Arizona for a ADCC ipen tournament. Before leaving Florida I reached out to Marcio Andre Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy to schedule a private lesson. The response was very timely and extremely professional. Upon arriving we were imeaditly treated like family with a very high level of customer service. After a few minutes of talking with Ella and moving with her he had established a awesome connection. The time spent with him and the techniques shown were extremely valuable. After the tournament we decided to stay a few more days in Arizona and drop in on some regular scheduled classes. We were extremely impressed with the entire experience and strongly urge anyone at any age to definitely take advantage of any opportunities to work with Marcio and his team.

Marcio and his wife Brenda are amazing! They put their heart and soul into their students. The gym is always clean, including the dressing rooms, bathrooms and the mats. I love the fact that there are many classes for all ages and experience. Marcio, and Brenda make their gym a well structured atmosphere for children! My family and I have been lucky enough to visit for extended periods several times and each time we have left with memories and moments to treasure. We have been to other world class academies and nowhere has even come close to the level of instruction, concepts and ability to spend time with a world class Professor like Marcio. You will never find a Professor more giving to his students. Marcio brings absolute joy to the academy every day and teaches all day including the kids program. Transferred to Marcio Andre’s BJJ academy from a different academy due to the location and the schedule of classes they offer. It’s been a great experience so far! Been a member here going on 3 years. Marcio is a great coach. He can break down any move and walk you thru it so it’s easily understandable. The gym have a great vibe in that it’s competitive but not overwhelming. Everyone is there to help everyone else get better. Both my sons go and they aren’t always the best listeners. All the coaches have great patience with them. All the coaches are great examples for them and good role models.

I usually snowbird in Arizona about 3 months out of the year. This year I decided to train at Marcia Andre Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Let me start by saying how conveniently located close to the freeway making it easily accessible from all parts of town. When I first walked into the gym i was greeted by professor Marcio’s wife Brenda and was immediately made feel right at home. I was blown away at the size of the mat space and just how immaculately clean every thing is. The head instructor Professor Marcio Andre watches over everything and is super nice to help out. Professor Marcio is a world renowned legend in the sport of jiu-jitsu. His academy is ranked as the best in Arizona and it’s easy to see why. If you’re a high level medal chaser, a casual trainer, or if your interested in having your children learn jiu-jitsu Marcio Adrea jiu-jitsu Academy is your place. I can’t speak highly enough or recommend a better gym I’ve ever been to. FIVE STAR!!

Following a move from England I was looking for something to break the week days up & came across Marcio Andre BJJ academy on social media offering a week free trial. With no previous martial arts/BJJ experience this was a step out of my comfort zone. From day one the staff have been welcoming & friendly. The Professor’s & trainers take the time to explain & coach techniques thoroughly. They are always on hand to help me improve, offer advice & answer my questions (often after the classes have finished). This place has been super friendly and very welcoming since I started. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and humble. They are amazing at communicating what they know and are always seeking to push you to what your best abilities are. The place is also very clean (for those who are worried about COVID) they check your temperature as well as you enter and everyone is wearing masks throughout class. I have never trained in Jiu-Jitsu, so of course I was a bit nervous, however this place has allowed me to feel at home since my first class! I definitely recommend this place!! I've been going to Marcio Andre for a little over a month now as a first timer and I can't be more satisfied with my experience. They are very welcoming and everyone is treated as a family. The instructors are incredible technicians and teach at a very learnable rate and make sure everyone has a clear mastery of the sequence learned before moving forward. They allow us to push ourselves to our own limits as well which provides for an incredible workout. I'll NEVER train at another gym in my life. Can't recommend this gym, and the trainers, enough.

Before coming to this academy I had previously done Jiujitsu for about a month but had trouble keeping up since too much information was thrown at me too quickly. When learning from Marcio and his wife Brenda however, they break down sequences at a digestible pace and the classes are still challenging enough for me to get in an excellent workout every time. He is uniquely adept in coaching to individual needs, adequately challenging the competitive athlete and hobbyist alike. Both Brenda and Marcio do a great job with the kids classes. They teach the kids not only Jiu-Jitsu but focus, discipline, commitment, and respect. The gym is modern and immaculate; a great space to train. I am proud to represent Marcio Andre’s academy and have my entire family call it their Jiu-Jitsu home.

As someone who is new to martial arts, I would recommend Marcio's academy. Marcio and Brenda did a great job of breaking down the moves into sequences so that you gain a better understanding of what is going on and why. BJJ is like chess, every move has a counter, and the more you see and do a move, the more things become automatic. The rest of the mentors, Nigel and Leo were awesome and informative. Even the other students welcome you with open arms. I also lost 5 pounds after my first week there! Highly recommend.

Marcio is an amazing instructor with a lot of patience. He has worked with our 16 year old as well as our 12 year old. He has been working with our son since he was 13. They are both competitive. He works a lot with them on their game plan. He goes above and beyond for his students to make sure they understand what they are learning.

Marcio Andre Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy Is an amazing place to train at. The attention to details that professor Marcio put into his classes are second to none the atmosphere at the academy is very family oriented and welcoming. There are many desirable and positive attributes that set Marcio Andre's new academy head and shoulders above many others in the valley. Start with the instructor - he is a product of success through hard work; Marcio is a highly accomplished and decorated BJJ athlete - he is a multiple time IBJJF Adult World Champion; this means that you can be confident that what he is teaching you is effective whether you are competing in a tournament or need to defend yourself in the street. He is very passionate and driven and puts his heart and soul into the athletes that he teaches. His instruction style is focused and intense so you can expect to become physically stronger and healthier as a result of training; your techniques will progress in short order as long as you listen and work hard. The environment of the academy is also optimal; it has a clean, spacious and contemporary feel. What separates Professor Marcio from other instructors is the level of detail and attention. Not only does he challenge and make you you use your brain, he also comes around and corrects your mistakes. Marcio is a true champ on and off the mats.
