I have to say that the entire staff ( coaches) and all the students at this school are some the most awesome people I have ever met. I train primarily at another school, and over the years because of tournament competition have developed a great relationship with this school. I have come to train with them at open mats, and I have always been treated like I was a part of the team , I was made to feel comfortable right from the beginning. They truly help me learn at and get better. This is an amazing environment for learning and becoming a stronger person. No matter if your an adult, child, teenager, or you are experienced or just starting your journey, if you are in the Ewing New Jersey area, I highly recommend that you check them out!
Posted 7 months agoBudo is perfect if you're looking for a martial arts school that truly cares about its students, both on and off the mat. Whether you're an adult who wants to train or a parent looking for a place for your kids, this is it. The instructors are fantastic with kids, not only teaching skills, but important values like discipline, respect and responsibility. My kids look forward to going to class every week and I've witnessed first hand the positive effects it's had on them. For adults, and from someone who has spent time on the mat, they will meet you where you are regardless of skill level or ability. The environment is supportive, welcoming, and also challenging in a positive way. Budo has become more than just a martial arts school, it’s like an extended family for us and I would highly recommend stopping in to see Kieran if you're interested.
Posted 1 year agoI joined with Budo a couple months ago with zero martial arts experience. The coaches and the students are all incredibly helpful, patient, and talented. This studio offers a great environment to learn techniques to empower individuals while also serving as a great work out. I am happy to have finally taken this leap to try out BJJ, and very glad I chose Budo to do so!
Posted 1 year agoBest place to get your energy channeled well. My son joined Budo when he was 5 years old, we are still going strong 3 years later. Coaches are attentive and make classes fun! But at the same time kids learn skills without realizing they do. The atmosphere is friendly and on top of it all this studio is kept very clean, which as a mother of 3 I appreciate so much! Who doesn’t like sumo circle?! My son loves it!
I love love love Budo Martial Arts for my daughter but not as much as she do she look forward to coming the staff is amazing respectful understanding and compassionate🥰
Great school.
I’ve known Kieran Todd for close to a decade as a training partner and more importantly a friend. I train at Balance Studios in Philly and Budo is one of our affiliates. I met him as a white belt and student at the original Budo Martial Arts which was run by Professor Charlie Vinch. Now he’s a high level brown belt and running the school. I visited the new location last night. It’s a lovely, clean, and accommodating space. The coaches and students were warm and welcoming. Coach Leo taught a great fundamentals class perfect for a beginner or even an experienced practitioner such a myself. If you’re in the Mercer County area, I highly recommend. I’m looking forward to returning.
My child has been attending Budo martial art school for 3 years now. The change I've seen in his focus and ability to follow instructions has exponentially improved. Not only are all the coach's amazing, they work hard with all of the children and show tremendous care for them as well. Budo martial art is a friendly and very family oriented place. They are like a second family and we love them all 🥰🥰🥰
Budo Martial Arts Studio is amazing. My son's confidence has sky rocketed since he's started! Additionally, they make the kids WORK for their belt upgrades. Everything is earned which has real world applications.
Budo Martial Arts is a second home to me and my family. We have been involved with them since they first opened their doors. It started with my husband and son doing Jiu Jitsu some 8 years ago. Then, me doing Kickboxing. I was nervous about trying Jiu Jitsu. It seemed so weird to be in such close proximity with people I didn’t know. However, what I truly didn’t know, was the group of people at Budo are not strangers. They quickly become trusting partners whom you rely on to help you learn. In turn, you help them learn. When I was ready, I took advantage of a trial and got hooked, fast! As a business owner myself and a mom of 2, it was so important for me to have something for myself. I can leave all my worries of bills, kids, schedules, lunches (the list goes on), at the door. When I walk on the mats, my mind is fully engaged in the sport. This sport wonderfully does that for you. I have trained Jiu Jitsu with Budo for about 3 years now. The coaches and owner truly care about your progress. They all want you to succeed. I have always felt supported by them if I was struggling and when I do well! I look forward to many years of continued learning and self care at Budo Martial Arts. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to try Jiu Jitsu or Kickboxing for themselves or their child.
When I first started Jiu Jitsu as a 14 year old, I didn't really believe it when people said how much martial arts can change your life. But I've been attending Budo for years now and my confidence, my outlook, and my discipline have completely transformed. I am so grateful that I found Budo. It's a wonderful culture, everyone there is respectful and genuinely cares about you. Especially the owner, Kieran, who really puts so much into the studio and is such a level headed and kind person. I, in a lot of ways, feel like I have my best friends here. All the instructors have a great amount of skill and knowledge - you'll scarcely find better teachers in the world of combat sports. They break everything down incredibly well. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be certified to instruct Jiu Jitsu through Budo and I hope I can be as good as the coaches here. The studio is happy to have those unfamiliar with Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai, but absolutely still teaches very good technique and welcomes hard rolls! I remember my first class and feeling very nervous about the possibility of embarrassing myself - I also remember learning how to put a choke on someone for the first time, and the satisfaction of getting it right. They also stay late and work hard to keep the place very clean! I have been training at Budo for years now and it's hard to overstate how much of a better person it has made me. I'm not insecure, I'm focused, I'm driven, I'm stronger mentally and physically, and I can't say that all would have happened without Budo.
My son first day was yesterday I purchased a trial but after that first session I ended up purchasing a membership for him lol. My son enjoyed his session and looks forward to coming back. The staff are super friendly, their curriculum is phenomenal. If I had to rate this studio 10/10 I would give them a 100/10. Totally recommend!!
My son has had a great experience so far with both coaches. The first day, he was not even sure he wanted to stay, but now, months later, he is moving up to the older level class. Coaches are all about the community of the studio, including offering extra seasonal events and themed parents nights out! We're glad to have a positive physical activity that is also focused on character.
Im from Brazil. Loved the trainning and the openess of the people!!!!
I cannot give Budo enough stars. Budo is like a second family. They are dedicated to supporting students and the community. People care about your life, how you are doing as well as your martial arts. The instruction is EXCELLENT. The dedication to improving skills, taking extra time with each student and breaking things down is incredible. The coaching and. camaraderie is incredible. I have been placing well at. tournaments so its not just my opinion.
Such an amazing place ! The coaches are amazing & very friendly . Love it here ! My daughter loves being part of this wonderful team. Definitely would recommend for anyone who’s looking to put their child in.
My daughter Adrianna has had an amazing first couple weeks in the beginners program. She’s tried a few other activities prior to this but the Budo family has truly made her feel at home. You can already see a difference in her confidence and desire for improvement. Can’t say enough about Coach Kieran and Coach Lisa!
Great people here. Family like atmosphere. Fantastic with young kids!!
I have always wanted to sign my son up for Martial Arts. I had my eye on Budo for a while. It’s been 2 weeks since my son joined & it is the best decision ever! He absolutely LOVES it and asks to go every single day! I don’t know why we waited so long to join! Also want to add that we drive 25 minutes each way! Well worth it!
If you are looking for a safe environment in which to get fit and/or develop the confidence that comes with learning how to defend yourself, BMAS is the place for you. Located in Ewing, NJ, BMAS is a convenient commute from anywhere within greater Mercer/Bucks counties. Kieran (owner) truly cares about his students and has cultivated a fun, safe training culture that has produced an accepting community of like-minded individuals.
Fantastic school. Instructors are knowledgeable, uplifting, and honest. Great program here at budo martial arts.
My son started Budo Martial Arts program at 11 years old as a beginner at the recommendation of his pediatrician as he was having some trouble focusing and was being bullied in elementary school. The improvement in focus, concentration and general attitude is amazing. He is in middle school now and no longer has a bullying problem as he walks with an air of confidence and maybe a little bit of air of don’t mess with me. They promote a true sense of family here and it isn’t just lip service. All the coaches here go above and beyond to make all members feel welcomed and included. They have classes to accommodate everyone from three year old “tiny ninjas” to adult black belts. Nothing but 100% positive experience in the two years we have been coming here. All equipment, gi, pads, etc are included with tuition. They offer a FREE introductory class. Call and sign up for a FREE class. You’ve got nothing to lose.
I live in Boston but was home visiting my parents and dropped in for a kickboxing class. Coach Kieran and Coach Lisa were super friendly and made it very easy to jump in last minute, setting me up with loaner gloves and gi as I jumped in without having brought any of my gear down. Friendly community and new, high-quality Fairtex pads. There was an Olympic Wrestling clinic happening after the class that I couldn't stay for but it was clear people were excited for the opportunity to crosstrain and enjoy the learning processthat they were bringing in additional instructors for crosstraining and to enjoy the learning process! Great spot to train - will be back the next time I'm home!
Super clean and the nicest people! The instructors meet you where you are at and break things down. As people advance so do the moves and instructions. You will have so much fun you will not even know you are working out.
Such a well run, tight knit community with first class coaches and members. Grateful that I gave Jiu Jitsu a chance in 2022 and looking forward to training further in 2023!
My daughter (4yo) has been going now for 2 months and absolutely loves this place. She gets so excited on karate days. The coaches are really nice and great with the young ones. My daughters listening and focus has definitely been improving since starting.
It's been a great experience working with all the instructors. I have watched my grandson grow in so many positive ways and I'm so grateful. Budo rocks!!!
Stopped by while in town on business, Charlie showed me his facility and invited me back when available. I took him up on his offer and recently took a class with Kieran, stayed for open mat. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. They are a great example of Balanced Studios and Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I’ll be back to train with the members at Budo very soon.
Great place to train for all levels of experience! All the instructors are super knowledgeable and truly take the time to help you improve your game. The self defense they teach is so realistic but the best part is you don't have to worry about getting injured. Everyone is super respectful and cool!
Come here and train!!!
Been doing Jiujitsu for a few months now, and I'm enjoying it quite alot. Everyone is friendly and makes me feel welcome
Been training here since October. All coaches/instructors are very knowledgeable. Classes are always fun. Check it out for yourself.
This MA studio is a great place to be. Great people & atmosphere, and it's in an ideal location.
Great place to learn and train. My son takes the kids jujitsu class and loves it.
This school is excellent. The owners Charlie, is very professional. He takes the time to make sure you understand the lessons and keeps the practice exciting and easy to follow! This is a great place for any type of practitioner and the whole family. I would highly recommend!
Excellent and methodical instruction. Class is extremely engaged. Skills for every age.
If you’re searching for a martial arts gym in New Jersey I can’t imagine going somewhere that’s more professional looking, welcoming, and with a friendly and qualified coach. The facility is well lit , well maintained, and as a lifelong martial artist Coach Charlie Vinch is as educated and passionate about coaching as anyone ive encountered.
I can’t say enough on how dedicated Budo is on forming a great relationship with each child. My child is not athletic but loves going each week to classes!
When I first joined Budo martial arts I did not know what to expect but after being initiated with everyone I knew I made the right choice .Everyone was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed.I’m very glad that I joined my son is learning a lot thanks everyone there.
This place is awesome
I'm a purple belt and have been training bjj on and off for close to 10 years now and my experience at Budo Martial Arts was one of the best experiences I've had. Firstly, the facility is well kept, the mats and equipment are very organized and there is good space get dressed and hang out before class starts. The instructors, Pablo and Charlie were both exceptional in their level of detail and attentiveness to each student when drilling and moves were scaled to the level of experience of the practitioners which was nice to see. The room was diverse in terms of belt colors with lots of white, blue and purple belts as well as a few black belts. The vibe of the gym was really friendly and everyone was there to support each other in getting better. I've had a great experience training at Budo so far and am excited to continue to hone my craft and get in great rolls!
A Great place to train the mind and body. Very friendly and experienced staff and extremely welcoming to beginners. Highly recommended.
Love coming here. Great instructors who are patient and challenge you at the same time. Variety of classes tailored for all age groups/skill levels. Charlie always takes the time to answer your questions and pushes you to realize your potential—the environment is super positive and very welcoming to newcomers. Lots of real life skills learned here....and nothing has brought a greater sense of confidence 😊 110% would recommend, children and adults
If you are considering jiu-jitsu this is the top academy for beginners, and individuals of all levels. Charlie, the owner and lead instructor is obsessed with student success, and what martial arts can do for ones life. I gave jiu-jitsu a try a few years back but did not stay with it, until I started here. His instructors are all excellent, focused, and very patient. If you are considering trying jiu-jitsu, just do it, you will be very happy you did. I am very active and exercise with weights, and no matter your current sport, or if you work out in the gym, you should add jiu-jitsu to it no matter what. Moreover, you will see it will make you more focused in your career, and that greater focus can lead to greater promotions etc. You'll also have more energy in your day to day life due to enhanced cardiovascular endurance.
I been going for a few weeks now and its AWESOME I'm NEVER not going to train THERE! Great people great and knowledgeable instructors I highly suggest giving them a try!!
My entire family attends Budo Martial Arts. The location is convenient with plenty of parking. The gym is exceptionally clean. The coaches are experienced, effective instructors who provide fun, skill infused learning experience. Stop in to experience the exciting, encouraging environment. My youngest daughter has learned patience and respect. The children's classes provide interpersonal skills, build confidence and of course solid jiu jitsu skills. My older daughter competes in wrestling and jiu jitsu. Classes help her cope with stress from high school and grappling with all the adult students has given her confidence to tackle any situation. My husband, despite a career in construction that has led to 4 surgeries finds the practice of jiu jitsu provides him with an activity that encourages flexability and strength. I take the adult kickboxing classes and have a great time. The excercise supports my positive mental health and I am always learning something new.
Been coming here for a little bit now. Charlie is a great coach and has the ability to host a fun, challenging, and welcoming atmosphere that bridges across all demographics. Whether you're looking for fun, looking to compete, or looking to get in better shape and learn self defense...this is the place to start. Not only is Charlie a great coach but the other staff immediately welcomed me into the gym with open arms. 10/10 recommend to anyone!
I’ve been involved with martial arts for over 20 years. One of the biggest turnoffs for most people taking up the arts is the meathead factor. That’s exactly what I love about Budo! You get serious and professional training without any of the meathead atmosphere. It’s really a great community, a great group of people with great instructors and training partners. This is probably the most important aspect of martial arts training if you’re interested in longevity and life going learning.
One of the most amazing Martial arts academies I have ever been too. Facility is very clean and students are very welcoming. Place is very clean and smells amazing.
I've loved my time at Budo. I've been training about 2 years now and couldnt be happier with the gym's atmosphere. I've trained at other BJJ/MMA schools and Budo strikes a perfect balance of serious training with a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Being a part of the Balance International family also comes with great opportunities to learn from a wide array of affiliated schools around the country. If your interested come in for the tour, you'll see it for yourself!
I've had nothing but great experiences since joining Budo Martial Arts. Everyone there is kind and genuine. The owner is an excellent coach who pays attention and works with everyone to help them feel comfortable with their journey. If anyone reads this and is looking for a family type of environment along with serious (but understandably paced to help you grow to a beast lol) training then please do not hesitate to stop in and give Budo a try. I truly believe it was one of the best decisions I've made in my life.
Warmly welcomed from the jump. Guidance on how to perform basic moves was on point. They answered all my questions leaving me confident on what to do to be effective. Highly recommended if you want a family environment that will also put you to the test!!
Place is great. Awesome owner/coach and coaching staff. Awesome little training family atmosphere for adults and children. I recommend this to any one looking to get active or teach their children discipline and self confidence. Check them out they are the BEST!
Anthony loves to go to Budo! It has helped him get stronger more confident and become more social. The coaches are awesome 😎
Best decision we ever made for our son was to sign him up for Budo Martial Arts! The staff is great with the kids! Always promoting confidence and self respect and control!!! We love Budo!!!!
Great training for kids!!! Highly recommend :)
Budo Martial Arts is a great place to train and get into shape. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. It was very important to the instructor's that you were safe and you grasped the techniques. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to train!!!!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
A positive enviornment!
A great facility and even better instruction. Enjoy watching my son build his confidence!!!!!
Charlie and his team are great with kids and adults. My kids gained some confidence and I took some classes too. Now my high kick is awesome. I can kick my friends in the head!!
Love this spot!!! Owner and operator, Charlie is amazing! Super attentive, great instructor and really cares about his clients! Highly recommend!
Charlie invited me to teach a seminar at his school, and not only was the facility clean and well maintained. He was super welcoming and I saw that his students were very much the same. It was great seeing how good of an instructor he was through his students abilities. Check them if you’re ever in the area! I’m sure he can help you achieve your goals whether you’re brand new to this or if you’ve been around a while!
I have trained at many place, and Budo martial arts ranks among the most friendliest gyms I have ever visited. I live outside the USA but whenever I come home I always make sure to stop by. High level instruction and a safe and fun training environment, it truly is a special place. The new facility offers even more space to roll. Can't wait to stop by again! Thank you!
I checked out a few Jiu jitsu studios in the Princeton-Lawrenceville area. Budo Martial arts had the focus, intensity, and camaraderie that I was looking for. Charlie and all of his students were open to me and encouraging, which is extremely helpful in boosting my confidence as a newbie. I could see that they were very serious about their craft and that I would be pushed to perform my best. Such a great balance at this school and glad I joined.
If you are an adult looking to train martial arts or a parent seeking a location for your children, Budo Martial Arts is an excellent choice. There are a lot of martial arts out there, but Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an excellent choice, a grappling style that is very effective for self defense and really challenges practitioners and develops attributes. Budo's owner Charlie Vinch is a very talented black belt dedicated to teaching the art correctly. Budo also offers excellent stand up martial arts training and exercise, and Charlie has fought in full contact matches so he knows what he teaches. Importantly, he is a kind man dedicated to teaching and it is an overall great location for everyone. Sign up, try it!
Charlie is a great instructor! I always leave class feeling stronger, more capable, and ready for the next class. Highly recommended!
I have family in the area and to get extra training in i stop at Budo. They always welcomes me with open arms. The instructors are very detailed and show top notch techniques. I'm a black belt and highly recommend this school.
I have cerebral palsy and was hesitant about taking up BJJ, but Charlie and the guys at Budo are super friendly, welcoming, patient, and most importantly, excellent instructors who genuinely care about their students. This is EXACTLY the kind of place you want to join if you're interested in learning BJJ. I can't say enough good things about Budo.
When I visited Budo for the first time I was impressed by how friendly and welcoming Charlie and his students were. It can be intimidating visiting a new gym but I felt right at home. Charlie is also a great jiu jitsu instructor that’s learned from some of the best jiu jitsu masters in the world. Budo is a great place to train and make friends in the process, I couldn't recommend it more for both beginners and experienced jiu jitsu players
This place is awesome. Great instructors and even better people. Budo is perfect whether you’re experienced or just trying out jiu jitsu. I started here 2 years ago and am thrilled this is the place I walked into. Couldn’t ask for a healthier or more fun environment to learn martial arts.
Great place to train. Great people. Super clean. Very organized and structured. Great training.
I took my first kickboxing class at Budo and it was an awesome time. Not only did I get a good work out and learn some techniques, but I had fun while practicing. The studio is very well kept and clean. The environment is very welcoming. The instructor, Charlie, is very informative and personable. The schedule is accommodating and flexible for a full time, 8-5 M-F worker. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking to practice a martial art.
Budos instruction was great and all intructors and students were all very friendly. It was super clean and all equipment was organized. It was a good vibe all around it. I am going to be training again at budo very soon.
Had a great time training with Charlie. Fun and positive atmosphere. Great for all levels.
Budo Martial Arts is an amazing place to train! I recently switched from an affiliate BJJ school and I could not be happier that I found Budo. Charlie is a great instructor and very patient. I was also coming back from an injury and Charlie helped ease me back into BJJ so that I did not reinjure myself. I've only been at Budo for a few months but I already feel like part of their family. I'm looking to forward to many more years of hard training. If you've never trained before, Budo is the perfect place to start!
I'd the pleasure of visiting Budo Martial Arts Studio a few times. Charlie's an amazing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner & instructor. He's very gracious and his studio has amazing instructors and students. I highly recommend learning BJJ from Charlie and his highly knowledgeable staff. I've also the pleasure of experiencing Frank and Pablo teach there. Everyone's very friendly and approachable. I travel from Philly to see them and they're worth the trip.
Great class and great teachers. I took a kickboxing class and absolutely loved it. I have had a very positive experience and I look forward to going to the class. It is both fun and educational. Teachers are very friendly and they take the time to teach you the correct technique and I have not seen this elsewhere. I would absolutely recommend this class.
My son absolutely loves going to class! Coach Charlie is informative, enthusiastic, encouraging and just awesome! This is a great class for kids to learn to become confident, strong and respectful! Awesome job, Budo Martial Arts!
My son is really enjoying his 1 to 1 lessons and I have seen a great improvement from the first class and second. He is having g a lot of fun.
Budo Martial Arts Studio is the studio you've been looking for. The people are super friendly and welcoming. They all want you to succeed in your martial arts journey. Charlie Vinch, the owner, is an amazing instructor. He knows how to teach the complicated techniques in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in such an effective way that you will learn them easily. When you visit ask Charlie about his story. He has an inspirational story of how he overcame injuries that will inspire you to learn from him and bring your children to learn from him too. You will not make a mistake stepping on the mats at Budo Martial Arts.
If you are looking for the top martial arts school in the Mercer County area, look no further. Budo Martial Arts is a top notch studio with experienced instructors. They have Awesome Kids & Adult classes. Budo Martial Arts is definitely the Gold Standard in the area. Come See for yourself.
Took a women's self-defense seminar. Great atmosphere for learning new techniques. Instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone looking to take jiu-jitsu classes.
No other gym in Mercer County delivers what Budo Martial Arts can. Very personal and professional instructors that will work with you regardless of skill level. Great atmosphere that makes you feel more like family then just a member. I highly recommend trying out Budo Martial Arts!
Amazing gym. Perfect mix of technique and fitness for all skills levels. I personally took both Kickboxing/Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu classes and both were lead by great insturctors and were great workouts. You leave feeling accomplished. Highly recommend! Thanks Budo!
Great school and great programs.
Great gym! Everyone is very friendly and the teachers really know what they're doing!
Charlie is an experienced martial artist with many years of training. He has a vast knowledge of multiple martial disciplines. He is open minded, personable and wants to help his students grow. I highly recommend checking out Budo Martial Arts.
I've trained at Budo a bunch of times. Charlie is an amazing person and an instructor. Every time I train there I come back with a gem of information I can apply instantly. It's very family oriented and has a great ego free atmosphere. I suggest anyone in the area train at Budo. I drive 1 hour to train here that's how good it is.
Dropped in and was able to try both kickboxing and BJJ. Could not have been happier with the instruction in both kickboxing and thai and such a nice facility. Great staff and great vibes! Thanks for having me!
No better place to train! The only thing Charlie Vinch is more passionate about than learning and martial arts is sharing his experience with the world! One of the greats! So grateful to have him in the area..take advantage!
Charlie Vinch is an excellent coach with a great attitude and an obvious aptitude for working with kids. Excellent competitors are coming from Budo
I have trained many places in my jiu-jitsu journey, and I felt compelled to say that Budo Martial Arts Studio is right up there with the best of them. Charlie Vinch gave exceptionally detailed, world-class instruction and most importantly, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I can't recommend them enough!
This is a top notch gym! I know this because I have been to so many. Charlie's jujitsu instruction is as good as it gets. His teaching style is very understandable and practical for both self-defence and sport-jujitsu. The other instructors at this gym also offer a great variety of jujitsu techniques. The instructor, Pablo, is an experienced jujitsu practitioner, as well as a full-time personal trainer that offers great advice on how to treat the musculoskeletal system. The gym is always held to a high standard of cleanliness, and there are a lot of great members of this gym that make a really fun and enthusiastic place to train. I can't say enough of how great this place is. Jujitsu is the most effective fighting style on the planet, and this is the place to train!
Such a cool place! The teachers are so laid back, but serous about their practice at the same time! Very cool environment as well, and always really clean! Perfect size, perfect location and perfect learning environment! Great studio for all ages and experience!
I've trained in multiple places in various cities ... Budo is up there as one of My favorite places to train. Great people good environment. Come in for a visit.
While my time with this establishment was limited, this is the most fun I have ever had working out. From the fantastic instructors to the fun activities to the great workout, this place is near essential for people who are interested in loosing weight in a fun way. I would highly recommend it 10/10
I am a beginner, actually still am a beginner to martial arts. Three words describes my experience at Budo. Confidence, fun and patients. Iv built confidence while having fun and the whole time Charlie stays patient. Not only woukd I suggest Budo to another adult but if I had children, this is the 1st activity, sport they would be introduced to. Kids all have issues with confidence. This program doesnt just help build confidence but keeps you humble. I woukd suggest this program for all ages, male and female. When my time is up for the day, I can't wait to get back to learn more. Just walk in the front door and try it. You will be happy you did.
Budo Martial Arts is the best martial arts school in the area. Great programs for both adults and kids! Mr. Vinch is not only a great martial artist, he is a very passionate and caring instructor who will help you achieve your goals. I highly recommend him and his academy to everyone looking for martial arts, health and fitness. Check him out, you won't be disappointed.
I've been training at Budo with Charlie Vinch since it opened. The instruction is superb. Charlie is a real expert with Muay Thai, MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and self defense. It's a no pressure environment, yet you can get to any level you wish for as he's flexible as an instructor to help you achieve your goals. The studio is always clean which can't be said for many places. Don't stare at your watch in a gym, wishing your boring treadmill workout would end! Go to Budo and you'll never want to leave!
Fantastic training. I had not had any experience at all but have seen nothing but positivity and a strong family atmosphere. Everyone from the top to the bottom are very helpful. No attitudes here and that surely comes down from the top in Charlie Vinch. I can't recommend Budo enough. I enjoy it so much I am there six days a week! Not my thing, but he seems to do really well with children. All the kids seem excited to be there.
I can't recommend Budo enough! My husband has been taking classes there for a few months and the changes are quite noticeable. He is in better shape than he has been in for over 2 years now and always comes home from classes happy (even when exhausted) and tells me everything he learned that day. All around, he seems to be in a better mood and also more in-tune and enthusiastic about improving mind, body, and spirit.
Wonderful place. My son is 6 and loves it here. He has learned so much and builds confidence every class.
A while ago I reached out to Charlie for advice on starting a martial arts studio. Charlie was referred to me by a friend. The advise was generic and stuff you could find on Google, you know? I reached out to meet with him again, because I though if I had specific questions, then maybe I'd get better answers from him. That didn't happen. Out of the blue he tells me he'll have to charge me to meet with him. I get it, if you run a business you gotta make money. It took me off guard since we never had a discussion about money. I told him no thank you. His response was: "let me know when you want to invest in your future". I found this comment very disrespectful. Seems like Charlie doesn't like being told no.
