I had a great experience here during my first day. Everyone was so welcoming and it is a friendly environment. The people that are experienced were teaching me the techniques as we were rolling. I highly recommend giving this place a go when it is your first time getting into bjj.

GB creates a welcoming environment for both adults and children, I would recommend the Princeton, Lawrence and Newtown locations to anyone interested in learning BJJ.
My 5 year old just started classes and she loves it, she is having fun and also learning,coaches are friendly. I will recommend it for everyone is a nice environment and kids friendly.
I highly recommend this is a training site for BJJ. I trained with them for a month FREE since they had a promotion. As far as the environment: yes it is male dominated but they are all very respectful and humble guys. There’s plenty of women that will make time for you if you refuse to train with dudes since they are also sometimes looking for partners. They all been taught well since everyone welcomed me and were supportive of training. They believe in positive reinforcement which is huge plus since some gyms do the opposite. Overall this has been the most welcoming, helpful and understanding gym I’ve trained at and I’ve tried a lot of them. They will never make fun or make you feel out of place which I think says a lot about the environment.
For years been thinking of joining a solid Jiu Jitsu academy and glad this is the place I found. Although Gracie Barra is known worldwide and has great centers everywhere, this one in particular is top level with great coached and great folks.
Gracie Barra is an awesome experience. It is very well organized and fosters a collegial environment for among students. It makes beginners like me immerse seamlessly into the rigors or BJJ. I look forward to continuing my journey at Gracie Barra Princeton.

Gracie Barra Princeton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I just enrolled my 14 year old son. From the first day he learned a lot and is very motivated and happy to learn self-defense. The trainees are very friendly. I recommend that you visit their facilities.
I am very pleased with this program. My 3 year old is shy but once he saw all the kids there participating, he jumped right in and actually wanted to wear his uniform. We look forward to becoming a lifetime partner!
Went to Gracie Barra Princeton for a free trial class to see if I wanted to sign up. I’ve been a member to another jiu jitsu school in the past and can confidently say this was my best experience training Jiu Jitsu! The curriculum was set up very well and broken down to be easily understood. I immediately joined after the class was completely. I highly recommend!

Getting my boy a much better opportunity to learn self defense and discipline than is available through a screen or government indoctrination.
Brought my kid here at the recommendation of my neighbor and from the 1st class I can see my son truly enjoyed it. The inclusion of hand to hand experience is really powerful and can really help a child feel like they are engaging and not just listening.
Coaches and fellow students really come together to make an amazing and inviting environment, they’re not afraid to slow down and teach you technique while also encouraging you to let go and really get into the physicality of the art!!
I first visited as part of an offer for free trial classes for two weeks. I got a membership after my very first class. As someone with absolutely no knowledge of BJJ, I was unsure what the environment at Gracia Barra Princeton would be like or what I should expect. I’m happy to say that everyone I met (including those taking the class with me) were welcoming and helpful. The coaches took time to show me how to do everything from tying my belt to breaking/applying holds. As a teacher/coach, I love the way beginner classes are structured. After a warm up there is a demonstration of self defense techniques and other components of BJJ. Instructors demonstrate several times at different angles to help you see what it should look like. You then apply what you learn with a partner with coaches nearby to provide feedback and give tips as you work. Towards the end of class you then apply what you learned in a live scenario with a partner. Coaches’ process of explaining, demonstrating, guiding, and then enabling is exactly what I do in my classroom/gym. I am thrilled to be a member of Gracie Barra Princeton and would encourage anyone to come check it out.

I loved being here, the teachers were hard working, and loving, and caring for the students. I had a great bond with all of the teachers even the professor. They even have some fun games in the middle of the class session it’s very lovely I really recommend them.

We have been with Gracie Barra for almost 4 years now and my kids truly love it. They enjoy going to class and learning new techniques. The coaches are great! They are aware of what each child needs and guides them. They are also very family oriented and always keep the families in the loop as well as create lots of fun family activities in the studio and out.
We love Gracie Barra Princeton. My 7 year old just started classes and the coaches are so good at keeping the kids focused and entertained while they learn.
As a girl, Gracie Barra provides such a safe space to start your journey of jiu jitsu. Everyone is so friendly and kind, it feels as though they care about you the moment you walk through their doors. Even though it is a male dominated space there is extra thought put into my experience and making it comfortable to learn at my own pace. Truly sweet souls that work with you and train you!
Since April, it has been an absolute pleasure having my son attend Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu School in Lawrenceville, NJ. Namely due to the fact that the staff (Professor Turtle, Coach Sarah, Coach Matt, Parker, Owden and Julie), take great effort in training my son; he is easily distracted and I give credit to anyone up for the challenge. Additionally it helps there is a large instructor to student ratio. Moreover the structure and class content gains my son’s attention and focus, assuring he's engaged in the sport. The school has regularly scheduled training for all ages. Since my son is a smaller six year old, I found no issue fitting into a practical time slot with children his age, size and skill level. Progressing through the levels without justification can sometimes be controversial. I don't want my son to think he only has to attend and go through the motions; he needs to participate. Kids earn their promotions here, which I appreciate and respect. I'd also want to mention the pleasure it has been as a parent interacting with the staff. They are knowledgeable and very patient. I'd like to think that they must attend some mandatory training on dealing with unwieldy children. Believe me, there have been situations which have merit, but I've never seen them lose their cool. As a protective parent, I try to avoid establishments that do not practice proper customer/client edict. Above all, after prospecting a few undisclosed locations, I found that this particular establishment makes you feel welcomed. Your child will learn a valuable skill here. I would highly recommend sending your child/children here. They will be safe, happy, well rounded and learn immensely about the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu traditions.
My son just started taking classes at this location. They allowed him to take a trial class before officially joining. I've observed a couple of classes - - the instructors are professional and seem really great with the kids. The kids are learning self-defense as well as good life lessons which is how they close each session. Additionally, the facility is well-maintained and the rates are very reasonable. Very positive experience so far!

This school is awesome!!!!! At first I would admit I was intimidated even though I'm a golden glove champ and studied tae kwon do as a kid this was something I've been trying to master and I couldn't be more happier with the experience they made me feel like a family member everyone there was so helpful and informational I recommend everyone should try it regardless of how intimidating it may sounds they take their time and work with you.

Learning BJJ is a bit intimidating at first but as soon as I finished my first class I knew it was for me. The coaches are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and a current white belt that knows next to nothing, I’ve found everyone to be very supportive and helpful in helping me get a grasp on the sport. Additionally the environment is so friendly and welcoming it’s hard not to love coming to class. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
This school has been a Great experience all around ,especially the people you get to roll with & establish a relationship with . The professors are very knowledgeable & teach in a way everyone can understand. Would recommend for anyone in need of discipline & mental health hobby.God bless :)

I love this place on day 1. I felt awkward for 3 minutes but the staff welcomed me like I been going there my whole life. Incredible staff incredible instructors and an amazing group of people. Please if you are thinking about bettering yourself, look no further then GB in the Lawrence location. You will not regret it.

This is a great place to learn jiu-jitsu! Instructors are friendly and break down each move into multiple steps making them easy to replicate. The facility is clean and well-managed. The staff is personable and the other members are a pleasure to train with. If you're on the fence about attending, definitely come in for a free trial class. You won't regret it.

Great environment for training. Good number of classes at multiple times of day to accommodate everyone’s schedule. Trial class was super helpful and staff super friendly. Highly recommended.

Just joined a week ago and I am very impressed with the depth of knowledge, professionalism and commitment to training and teaching the right way. The strength and fitness classes are a great complement to the martial arts classes. You are essentially getting top notch martial arts training, personal strength training, and injury prevention and flexibility training all in one membership. I would highly recommend Gracie Barra for anyone at any level.

Temporarily re-located to the area, 60 miles away from my BJJ academy, and needed a place to train. I feel lucky to have found this place - a great balance of good hard training and team atmosphere. I've had to move a lot over the last few years due to job relocation, and it can be tough being the "new guy", but it's easy in a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Students of all ages, sizes, skill levels, and backgrounds, training together as a team - beautiful.

The instructors are excellent. They’re extremely knowledgeable and very patient. They are willing to take extra steps to make sure you are understanding the techniques being taught, and you really get the sense that they care about you and your progress. They always greet you with a cheerful hello, and going to class feels like being together with family and friends. I love the atmosphere and spirit of commraderie. I would highly recommend Gracie Barra jiu jitsu for anyone who is looking to start out in the sport as well as those with some experience. I absolutely love this place.

The coaches here are very knowledgeable and instill that knowledge and confidence in the children who attend. My 5 year old son spent several months with GB Princeton. We went faithfully 3 times a week and I observed almost all of the sessions he attended. Although the positive vibes and passion for jujitsu are palpable and contagious at the school, ultimately we felt they did not deliver on a few critical factors for the younger kids. Specifically, we felt the teachers were not skilled at handling a large class of young students, and were unable to keep their attention throughout. We also felt there was very overt favoritism, with certain students receiving frequent accolades and other well deserving students were constantly overlooked. Instructors were sorely unable to provide structure and discipline when it came to basic skill-building wherein they allowed kids to make the same mistakes over and over and did not set clear expectations or provide corrections and feedback. Other issues arose around billing methods, and interactions with staff in which my son was cooed at and called cute every time he was there. Despite me reaching out to the management directly, these issues did not get resolved and we came to the conclusion this school was not the right fit for us.
