I cannot recommend Breakthrough Martial Arts enough! My son Emin has been taking karate classes there for the past year and the progress he has made is amazing. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, and they create a supportive and fun environment for the kids to learn and grow. Emin loves going to his classes and always comes back home with a big smile on his face, eager to show us what he learned. The facilities are top-notch, with plenty of space and equipment to accommodate all levels and ages. I am so grateful to have found such a great place for my son to develop not only his martial arts skills but also his self-confidence, discipline, and respect. If you're looking for a martial arts school, look no further than Breakthrough Martial Arts! Robert and his team are the best!

My kids love learning karate here! The teachers, Kwame and Robert, help them learn new skills, gain confidence, improve focus, and self discipline while having a good time. As a parent, I appreciate how they have a different theme (like gratitude) every month that they explain and the kids discuss. I highly recommend.

Joined the adult MMA class and I don't regret it one bit. Had to leave before grappling was going to be taught 😭 Senpai rob is an amazing instructor who guides you and is there to help correct you and effectively teach effective martial arts. In my opinion the membership prices are a great deal. Very beginner friendly as well. Looking forward to rejoining in the future

Best Karate school! Highly recommended to everyone! My son has been attending this place for the past 6 years. Every instructor is absolutely amazing!!! The place has a family feel that is very welcoming to every student. The instructors are very good with children and they really care about them. They work to develop their students on so many levels: emotionally, physically and mentally. They also make sure to show appreciation when students are gaining new skills or are developing old ones.

Great atmosphere and positive environment! My daughter started about a month ago and still has loads of excitement before each class. The staff have amazing energy, especially with younger kids with less focus and shorter attention spans. Each class is structured to teach life goals (like kindness and responsibility) and martial arts, in a fun, upbeat manner. The center is always clean, which is extremely appreciated!

We were looking for something that will allow my superactive 7 y.o. daughter to let her steam out and have fun and at the same time will help her focus and improve her discipline and behavior. Breakthrough martial arts is a perfect match👍👍👍 she is always looking forward to go there and never wants to skip the class. Instructors are very kids friendly and fun oriented.

My son struggles communicating with others (understanding/respecting boundaries), following directions, and likes to do things with his own rules. We have been in the program for about 2 1/2 months and he has made tremendous progress. Starting out was a rough adjustment, but he now asks to go to class so that he can show his Sempai how well he can listen. Coming here has helped him learn core values such as integrity and determination. We love BTMA.

My daughter has been with Breakthrough Martial arts for over a year and she looks forward to each class. The teachers are very friendly and have great rapport with the kids. They make the classes fun and yet challenge the kids enough to teach them focus, strength, respect and hard work. With their new location now in Rego Park, the place is much bigger. We enjoy coming here every week.

My two kids have been students here for almost 3 years. Excellent experience! Sensei is a thoughtful, insightful leader and the team's vision is clear. Our takeaways... Physical and mental conditioning - in the tablet and screen age, kids aren't as active as i was when i was a kid. The workouts are intense, with balance. Also, there's a good degree of mindfulness through exercise and occasional meditation. Social - in some aspects, participation resembles structured play dates as a lot of the kids reside in the area and have established friendships from school. The IKC team does a fantastic job managing introverted personalities in a safe setting. We can clearly see the positive correlation between attendance and school participation / performance. Self-defense training - in the age of bullying, there isn't more of value that I can add to the conversation. We are more than happy and we enjoy the instruction. It is a huge commitment (relative) both time and financial. During our due diligence years ago, we visited many martial arts schools, discovered contrasting styles, and the kids attending numerous free workouts. We cannot knock any of the other commercially marketed programs as that's the way their model works. We are, however, more than happy with IKC's kid focus. My kids are too. IKC is the place for us.

My daughter has been with BreakThrough Martial Arts for 3 years now and I have been enrolled for just over a year. We both really enjoy Karate and the Dojo. With the recent move to Rego Park the dojo has more than doubled in size with new mats and a larger pro shop, what's not to like. Love the fact that Sensei William is involved in the community, sponsoring food and coat drives recently. Warm and inviting staff that look to better the human spirit. OSS!! Come check it out.

I love kickboxing! My sister got me these classes for Christmas, and I've been hooked ever since. The entire workout is intense, but it's fun and there is constant encouragement from everyone. I feel so energetic after the workouts, it's been a complete change from my normal routine and I'd recommend it to anyone who is tryna burn calories, have fun, and kick some major butt all at the same time!!!! Bringing a friend is a major plus.

I bought the Gilt voucher last year around same time and I was so busy with life (somehow lazy since I haven't done any sport for almost 3 years), so I kept postponing it till I decided to finally take the classes, before I started, had a sense that I like it since I used to be very active in sport but I like it more than what I was expected . I have had couple of classes till now and I love it, yesterday I couldn't get off my desk and do my daily errands and I was feeling very down, I decided to go to class, it was difficult to convince myself to do so but I did, came out of class as different person , so energetic and happy. there are couple of reason that I recommend you to take these classes, the first 15 min of warm out is challenge , it makes you push yourself and definitely bring you in shape both mentally and physically and kickboxing itself is really different experience , and above the all the vibes and atmosphere of studio is very very positive, it is impossible that you come out without getting some positive energy

I recently joined ILKB in January 2016. I was looking for a new group workout and wanted to start exercising on a regular basis. At first I wasn't able to keep up with the classes, and at times I still can't. I was barely able to get in and out of the car when I first started because I was so sore. But over time my body has gotten use to the work outs (and I promise yours will too) and I look forward to going whenever I can. I even got my friend to join! The instructors are extremely friendly (and funny :) ) who will motivate you and push you. The times of the classes are also very convenient with my schedule which is also a plus. I have to say, I have done training in the past with a personal trainer, but there is something about working out with a group that just gives you the motivation to want to keep going. I highly recommended this program to anyone who wants to get in shape, workout or just have fun. I promise you won't regret it!

I haven't had any workout as intense as the ones i got here. The instructors are great and kind. You will be motivated, pushed and meet other friendly people who will help encourage you. I have been seeing results very quickly and my stamina has only been increasing. The price of it is well worth the results you get in that amount of time. Highly recommend it.

I have been taking kickboxing classes for a few months now and I must say... I absolutely love the experience!!! After the first class I was sure that this is the right exercise for me. It works out ALL parts of your body. But... you almost don't feel it because you are having so much fun. All instructors are extremely nice, helpful, and motivating and create a really cool environment. I really look forward to going to class, especially after a stressful day at work. After the class I feel energized, accomplished, and most importantly - happy and in peace with my body. If you want to have a complex exercise and at the same time have fun and meet new people... this is the place for you! :-)

I have been coming to this place for a few weeks just for their kickboxing classes and I must say that I love it. I decided it was time for me to make a change and decided to give kickboxing a try since it is something I've always wanted to do. Since the first day I have been hooked. The classes are challenging but it is worth every single sweat and ache. In 4 weeks I lost 10 pounds and this is only the beginning of my fitness goals. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and motivational. I definitely recommend giving their classes a try if you are ready to take a step toward your fitness goals.

Every class I have taken has had 2 instructors which means you get plenty of attention. Each students receives immediate feedback on their form and guidance about the specific level at which they should aim to workout. The instructors are very charismatic and provide both a comfortable sense of humor and professionalism. This environment allows you to enjoy your workout while assuring that you reach your personal best and individual goals. The class starts off with awesome exercises, such as squats, lunges, pushups, crunches, burpies, and many more. They give you a total work out and you can feel the caloric burn with each drill. After our muscles are stretched out and warmed up, they have us put on our gloves. This is when the fun starts” the heavy bag”. They go through exciting combinations of punches and kicks. These classes have helped me release my stress, burn calories, and fight the fat. The playlist of music during the class is an additional perk which I find very enjoyable. It helps to motivate me and increases the energy level of my workout. I recommend that you try this class, especially during their free try out sessions. I know you’ll love it.
