My son loves going to camp here and specifically asks to stay the entire time. The day pass structure is super flexible and I plan on buying them again next Summer for our third year.
Great place! Highly recommend this for training and self discipline.
Excellent spot to get in some work. Highly recommended
Collin and Brittney do a great job of providing an easy learning environment and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend trying out the free first class!
Very well organized. Clear and concise instructions.
My kids have had a great experience learning here. The coaches care 👍😊
I had wanted to try BJJ for a while but was extremely anxious being over 50 and never having done a martial art before. I decided to stop by and just visit and Collin and Brittney immediately put my worries to rest. Since then the training, atmosphere and community has been so great I only wish I would have visited sooner.
Collin and Brittney have put their heart and soul into this place and created an awesome family. Highly highly recommend to anyone looking to start BJJ or continue their training at a new gym. One of the best!
Collin and Brittany are amazing at running this establishment. The space is safe, clean and fun- we have two kids (age 11 and 8) enrolled here and the classes they offer are amazing. The other kids are great, everyone is friendly and I truly feel my kids are learning skills to last a lifetime. Very thankful to have found Brave through our friend who also attends!
My kids had fun at Brave JJ summer camp!! They enjoyed playing games like Game Show, UNO, and building blocks and really liked the staff. As a parent, this camp provided the flexibility and affordability that nowhere else could match!!! I hope you do summer camp next summer and that you save us a spot! Thanks for everything!
Good clean mats! And great instruction from Colin.
This is a fun and welcoming group of people. The founder and head coach Collin has built something more than a simple run-of-the-mill jui-jitsu gym. Brave BJJ is more like a club, where members are not only training partners, but also friends. In our Time and culture, being part of a community is becoming exceedingly rare, yet increasingly important. We're fortunate that this place exists. Thank you Collin.
All good things to say about Brave!!! My son has been working with coach Collin and his team for 6 months. In this time he has learned respect for others, team work and patients. They are big on being truthful and supporting your teammates. My son has completed two competitions and placed in both for his age/ weight group. We don’t make him go, he wants to be there. We are happy we started this journey with our “Brave” team!
Brave creates a family feel. Whatever skill level, whatever goals you have for yourself, or your family, professor Collin will exceed all expectations. Best money I’ve spent. “THE” place in the Treasure Valley for you to start your journey to a better, more rounded you! Hope to see you here soon… Erik
My son (11 years old)has been attending brave Jiu-Jitsu since September of 2022. Colin is an excellent instructor who is knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to help students improve their technique. He creates a supportive, and encouraging environment that makes learning jiu jitsu fun and engaging. The facility is top-notch clean and well equipped. I highly recommend brave Jiu-Jitsu and Colin an as an instructor to anyone looking to learn, or improve their Jiu-Jitsu skills. Five stars all around.
I was looking for a spot to resume my BJJ journey and after looking around at other local gyms, I'm so glad I decided to join Brave BJJ. Professor Colin runs class and teaches technique in a way that is approachable and easy to grasp. The overall environment is very supportive and welcoming. If you're trying to decide where to start BJJ, or where to resume, look no further!
Brave has been a great place for our daughter. She’s only 4, but the wonderful coaches have made the whole Experience fun and so welcoming.
I genuinely like the experience here. The people are great, Collin’s instruction is excellent and he’s very helpful individually. The price is reasonable, they don’t try to force you into any “deals” or “plans”. I like this gym, having been at others here. You should try it out.
My daughter loves everything about brave jujitsu, especially the owners!
Brave is a wonderful place to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu! Family friendly environment, wonderful coaches, and amazing kids’ program. They go above and beyond here to help you and your family learn. Would highly recommend Brave to anyone!
I like the attention to detail and the personal instructions. My daughters always look forward to going to class and are learning and keeping fit.
If you're reading reviews from all the gyms trying to decide which one to go to, than you can stop, this is it. This is the most welcoming and knowledgeable gym in the valley. Finding a gym is intimidating, especially when so many of them are plagued by a culture of pride and ego where the members' goals are winning and domination. This gym is different. The students here work together. They help and learn from one another, and that puts this gym in a league of it's own.
Brave is exactly what I was looking for in a martial arts program for my son. Professor Collin, Brittney and the other instructors offer a challenging yet rewarding experience for him and he always has fun. I'm looking forward to signing my daughter up for the "Pre-JJ" classes as soon as she turns 3. My favorite thing about Brave is the sense of community they provide and it's definitely why my family and I keep coming back. Highly recommend!
My 7 year old son is having a great time learning discipline and detailed Jiu-Jitsu technique. The kids are encouraged to attend four classes a week and all kids have hands-on training by one to three instructors each class.
Just recently I was in boise on vacation and had the opportunity to visit brave BJJ . After my recent experience, I can confirm that this gym does not deserve 5 Stars. In fact, IT DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS !! Everyone from the instructors ( professor collin ) to the students welcomed me, were very friendly, and gave me some awesome training. If anyone is in the boise area and looking for a place to train, brave jj is the place to be !! thank you everyone for the great time
I came to town for a few days and was looking for a place to train/open mat. Found this place and went for a class and an open mat session and I really enjoyed it! From what I experienced, everybody is super friendly and it not overly competitive. Perfect place to start learning BJJ if you are interested.
We have been so blessed with Brave Brazilian Jiu Jitsu opening up! Professor Colin and Coach Britney have been absolutely amazing from day one. They are an incredible team, offering both skills training and inspirational support. They have created a welcoming family-friendly environment, and I wouldn’t trust my kiddos training anywhere else.
I'm new to BJJ and was looking for a place and couldn't imagine a better option than Brave Braszilian Jiu-jitsu! Collin and Brittney are welcome, organized and create a great atmosphere to lean, get fit, and get to know other members. As a HUGE added benefit, they are also great with kids and I've enrolled my daughters and it has been a blast watching them learn and grow. I couldn't imagine a better place for my needs and couldn't recommend them higher.
Of all the places to practice BJJ in the Boise area, I chose Brave because of the Instructor technical expertise, ability to teach and most importantly the positive culture at the gym!
Colin and Brittney are amazing Colin is a very detailed professor and fun to train with. I personally would recommend giving the school a try weather you are new to Jits or have been training for a while.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Brave BJJ. Collin and Brittney made me feel comfortable and at ease the moment I walked through the door. I have never done any sort of martial art training before and had no prior knowledge of what BJJ is and was looking to learn a few self defense skills. I have found myself in a few tough spots with my job and felt unprepared to protect myself. After reaching out to several different schools and gyms in the area, Brave was the only one that responded in a timely and friendly manner. I am greeted with a smile every time I walk through the door. Collin challenges me in a way that requires focus and I can decompress and forget about the outside world for an hour. I feel relaxed and less stressed when I am through. Collin is a very patient and positive motivator. I am very happy to be a member of Brave BJJ.
Our kids love being part of Brave and are always eager to get to class. Neither of our kids had done BJJ before, but they are learning rapidly, thanks to great coaches. Collin and Brittney are welcoming, positive, attentive coaches who take the time to get to know their members and build a community.
Professor Collin has a wonderful way of removing all of the stress that's involved when learning a new skill. His patience and vast knowledge base allow him to cater to each student's unique learning style. He makes the classes enjoyable, ensuring that each student feels comfortable and safe. I highly recommend Prof. Collin and Brave BJJ.
I've been going to Brave since it opened and its been awesome! I never done Jiu-jitsu before and I've learned a ton. I joined to get in shape, I've always avoided cardio, in fact, I only run if I'm chased, lol. But I never skip a day training here. I always get a good workout and Coach Collin is an excellent instructor.
Collin and Brittany are the best! Getting back into BJJ is something I wanted to do for a while and I’m glad I chose Brave BJJ.
I had the pleasure of learning from professor Collin while he was teaching at Pasadena CA. Not only are his techniques top notch, Collin has a great ability to clearly explain the concepts and theories each technique. Aside from his BJJ skills, Collin is really passionate about passing on his knowledge. He fostered a caring and supportive environment here in Pasadena, and his new academy will be undoubtedly just like that. The Boise BJJ community will benefit with Professor Collin and his academy.
Professor Collin is an amazing instructor, BJJ practitioner, and all-around good guy! I've learned a lot from Collin--both BJJ and life lessons--and endorse him wholeheartedly. If you want to learn jiu jitsu in a safe, caring, and fun environment, I recommend checking out Brave BJJ!
Prof. Colin is an amazing coach and mentor. I had the privilege of learning from him during his time with our team. Prof. Colin is patient and extremely knowledgeable in his jiu jitsu. I have learned much from him that have helped me improve. Super excited to see him share his knowledge and techniques!!
Collin was one of the main professors at ZR Team (now logic BJJ) in Pasadena and was an excellent teacher of Jiujitsu. He explained moves and techniques in a simple and concise ways and gave us students ample time to not only work the technique but troubleshoot issues we had. He also taught techniques that were high percentage and low risk which I found I could add easily into my overall game without much issue. He fosters an environment of learning without judgement and it was always a joy to see him on the mats helping us improve.
Professor Collin is an excellent teacher and educator, technically highly qualified… he has good humor and always nice with everybody. He got his black belt from us in Pasadena I am very proud of him and absolutely deserved the black belt. I can only recommend the brave jiu jitsu academy to anyone who wants to learn to progress in this awesome sport in Boise (Idaho).
